so the nomination are in and it's tim to start voting for who the Ogre Stronghold members want to award the coveted title of Hobby Hero to this year.

Category 2 - Achievement in Modelling, celebrates the progress and success of a members skills with a craft knife, sculpting tool or tube of glue. Sometimes this can mean showing a consitently excellant standard of work, other times it means coming along leap and bounds in a single year, or even developing a technique which hasn't been seen before and can benefit the community as a whole. The following are this years nominees. Please rememeber when voting that the award is for the achievement in Modelling this year.

(thanks to Wildcard for providing the blurb text about my nomination!)

1:Corai
Corai is always ready to take a new look at old models and knows how to carry a theme though.  From sculpts to minor conversions, Corai is always ready to go the distance when it comes to achieving the right look for his forces.

2:Candycake (and her Dad!)
Another relative newcomer to the Stronghold, this father and daughter team have clearly made quite the impression on our members! on their quest to 'Girlify' every model in an ogre army they've provided us with some truly unique and inspiured conversions that never cease to bring a smile to member's faces.

3: Nightmare
This year has seen Nightmare go from modelling strength to strength. If you look through her gnoblog you'll see an already talented modeller get even better as the army progresses. Her visual style is truly remarkable and has resulted in one the most memorable ogre armies, and plenty of the most memorable conversions of the year.

4: Warplockmonkey
What can I say about Warplockmoneky, our very own in house sculptor who seems to churn out brand new, astoundingly original models faster than most can keep up! He was being modest when he titled his gnoblog a gallery of wonder, when it is in reality so muchmore. If you've neber seen the amazing models that come out of there I'd urge you to check it out a soon as possible!

So there you have the nominees. The links I have given are only a brief example of the wonderful modelling that has been achieved by all the nominees this year and I urge you to look around for yourself to see the oustanding level of painting displayed by each nominee before making a vote.

The polls will stay open until 20th December at which point we will crown this year's Hobby Heroes!

Thanks
Corai

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
Warplock all the way for me, absolutely superb skills... though all of the modelling nominations are of a really high calibre
Took me 2 weeks to realise i have a trade gnoblar, Squinky ->

you're a sick man stone dog   excellent idea!
HAS to be Corai for me!

I could write a book on the awesomeness my eyes have seen this year from Gnoblogs belonging to him, from the Chariots of fire to the Fey Folk there were some awesome conversions that make my mind boggle, whatever happened to that Horror pumping thing that looked amazing and I believe was never finished?

A special mention goes to the Fey Folk army, the conversions were amazing and it certainly kept me entertained with very frequent updates at a speed that I couldn't believe. Thanks.

Well done and good luck to all nominees!

warplock for me some fantastic work bieng turned out by him
never accept surrender never show mercy for they are for the weak
Everyone has talent in this, but Corai blows them away. I mean, I have never EVER seen such an amazing theme and army as his Fey Folk army. And for the trumph card... The Dragon. I'll just leave it at that...

Warlock all the way, since he "models" for real. Scratch-sculpting is just so cool (especially when it's done with his level of expertise)! :D

Thank you so much for the nomination (ohhh I feel like I'm making an Oscar speech) I am amazed that I have been voted for in the same breath of all these other wonderful gamers. What a shame Wildcard isn't a nominee.

I am going to have to vote for Corai and good luck contestants!

Aunty Doreen herself is now about to be posted so please take a look on my gnoblog at http://ogrestronghold.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=876fb5eca48af2323e3707bc885f5da4&topic=8590.120

Everyone who is nominated has a considerable amount of talent but for me personally im going to have to go with Corai because in my brief time lurking/being a member on this forum (only registered today lol) his amazingly painted/Converted models have relighted my love for wahammer and inspired me to begin collecting again  so thanks Corai  :D

I think that Corai, Warplockmonkey and Nightmare have done exceedingly well in the competition and are brilliant modelers. i would give them all pet gnoblars if only I could. Well done everyone!
