The time is upon us, the nominations are in and I am proud to announce the nominees for the first category of the Ogre Stronghold Hobby Hero Awards 2007:
The Ogres Choice Award
This seemed to be the most difficult category for people to nominate someon. More than a few members opted to abstain from nominating an Ogres Choice contender as picking an 'overall best ogre' was just too hard. I think this speaks volumes about the level of community we have here in the Ogre Stronghold and I continue to be proud to be a member of the most friendly hobby site on the net.
Wildcard
Even before being elevated to the role of Moderator, it was clear that Wildcard was a special member. His continued help and support of members when it comes to both the painting & modelling side of the hobby and the strategic ad tactical side. Wildcard has garnered just as many nominations for his House of Weird Ogres and continual light hearted approach to models, as his excellent army lists and strategies (the Wildcard pattern warbands list now being an accepted 'perfect answer' for Ogres!). I'm privileged to have met Wildcard in the flesh and am happy to report he is even more friendly and helpful in real life!

Being the only non-moderator in the running for this prestigious award speaks volumes about Regs contribution to the Ogre Stronghold. Whenever someone needs help, whether theyre a veteran or brand new, Reg is there to offer his services. His continued dedication to welcoming new members in the Introductions Thread (a convention mostly forgotten by other forums) helps set the tone of friendly, helpfulness which sets the Ogre Stronghold community apart from so many others on the web.
Hragged
The overtyrant himself. What needs to be said that isnt already implicit? Hragged is the owner and founder of the Ogre Stronghold. His commitment to the website (not just the forum) has seen it grow from strength to strength and escape the limitations of a race specific board to become one of the most well liked and popular Warhammer sites on the net. Hraggeds continual dedication to the site is evident in his constant revisions of features and aesthetics. One need only look so far as the History of the Stronghold article to see all the myriad versions of the Stronghold which has existed, only for Hragged to revise them yet further in pursuit of the perfect website.
Congratulations to all the nominees for getting this far and I hope they will join us in 2 weeks time for the awards ceremony.
