Hello All,

Clean and nice painting.

I like it!

@ecwh070: Its not difficult at all, I prime solid black then mist with white primer after. The red is just Citadel Base Mephiston Red (formerly Mechrite Red) with a Citadel Shade Agrax Earthshade (formerly Devlan Mud) applied liberally over it.

So after much debate and deliberation I guess I have changed my mind, This will not be an Ironskin tribe, This will be a Blood Guzzlers tribe. I love the spider fluff and I will be representing it highly on all future models.

Speaking of which.... I am now prepping my "counts as" Thundertusk model.

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
So today I finished my second Ironblaster. Pretty excited to have these both done. Here are some shots of the pair of them together. The only thing still remaining is the bloody fist of the second one. I am out of my blood paint and will pick up more tomorrow. :)

So after seeing TuShan's BSB in the "Show Us Your...BSB" thread, I knew I had to make one like it. So here is my newly completed BSB with some WIP shots as well. This is one of my first attempts ate sculpting more than just hair or fur.

And Painted...

Now that its done, I may try to gently heat up the hooks so they adjust and hang a little more natural. As well as the two stone danglers. I should have done it first but, oh well. It was a first attempt, all in all I am happy with it. :)

heres a link to my more random models and paint projects, my ogre army can be found by following the other gnoblog link.
@johnnyandbex: thanks for the praises. I actually keep most of my painting pretty simple. My method for painting the ogres comes from a slightly more basic version of Dreadboi's tutorial (linked in his signature). I prime black then mist a white primer from about 45 degrees above the models. Then I paint the skin Cadian Fleshtone. Next I add Reikland Fleshshade in all the crevasices. Once that is completly dry, I clean up all the over wash with Cadian Fleshtone again. Everything else is just a single color with a wash. I use Agrax Eartshade on everything except the skin and metal colors. The metal colors get Nuln Oil. The bloody fist are painted fully and then i add a generous application of Tamiya Clear Red paint. It's all pretty simple and easy as long as you give the washes time to dry.

number 2 for me!
Open your eyes or the pain will flood in, thought for today is not to give in.

How I Painted My Ogres!

None for me, a modified minotaur shield would look better I think.

If that is an option. :)
My hood is my castle...
Numba 1! It always has to be #1!
Number 1 but put the shoulder plate on the right shoulder of your ogre. OR, try putting an Ironguts plate on the right shoulder.

My point is it will look more balanced with a shoulder plate on the other side!  :P
@shadowlord: the minotaur shield is an option, but of the three I really only like one and it is set aside for a maneater. :( (the one with the beast skull and the one with the 4 horns are the ones I am not using)

@FUNkY-T: I considered moving the armour shield to the other side but the fig has sculpted shrapnel imbedded into his shoulder that I like a lot and want to keep so it doesnt really fit, plus the sword clutters it up as well.

There is an unpictured third option now...

#3: I am considering leaving the armor plate on his shoulder, but instead of a shield, placing some heads dangling that he is holding by the hair. Just a thought. Of course this version will require some extra work, but it does seem like a good idea.

Here is an image that kind of shows the look (minus the dangling heads of course).

Hey Buddy,

Loving the Gnobblog, your painting is great :) saw your butcher and loved what I saw, its what I wished my butcher turned out like lol! Here's a link to my attempt: http://paint-hammer.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Butcher, looks like we used very similar parts, small world! Oh and RE the  Brusier, im planning something very similar but for my BSB, im gonna use the actual shield shoulder pads from the thundertusk kit for his enchanted shield and also going to use the Thudertusk pole/banner on the BSB's back with the stonehorn's "skull" as the banner :) really looking forward to doing this conversion!

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
@JJ: thanks, I am not really loving it in person tho. I am considering scrapping the hea bit. It's just not turning out how I anticipated. We'll see I guess.

Oh right. What is it, in particular, that you're not too keen on?

Sculpting work is really nice but the feel from the extended jaw makes me think of the Mummy and more of a chaos/ mutated SM rather than just one who eats lots.

lol would have to be lore of maw with a jaw like that
8th Edition Battles:
W-2 D-1 L-1

@JJ: i really like the belly and apron that's all fine. The jaw though isn't really giving me the warm-fuzzies, so to speak. I might just go with a standard butcher head. I ordered a leadbecher bellower head to work with. We will see.

@Komone: I kind of agree

@Steam Titan: It is my Maw caster, but as you can read it probably will get reworked.

In other news:
I am extending my Ironguts from 6 out to 9 so I will have some images of those soon, and I also started working on my Maneater musician. He is a very inspired by Dreadboi's dwarf musician. In fact "inspired" probably isn't the right word... i think the word I am looking for is "copied." :)

Fair enough :) I very much like the distended jaw, but each to their own :)

Ok so I did end up scrapping the previous head/jaw. Just wasn't working for me. I have only made minor updates as I am waiting on the mailman to bring me some new materials. But I do like the new changes. I really just added the hook hand, and the piercings on the shoulders (there are a total of 4). Oh and reworked the base.

Almost forgot about my first Maneater. The musician. The idea is Dreadboi's I just attempted to copy it. :)

Yes, giving complete props to Dreadboi I am probably going to replicate his whole command group there. :) Hope he doesn't mind.

while i'm flattered that you are thinking of me, i'm struggling to picture which command group you are on about!

:P
Open your eyes or the pain will flood in, thought for today is not to give in.

Maybe command group isn't, the best term but, I'm referring to the Champion standard and musician of your maneaters

is the claw hand he has from the skaven giant rat handle prod pole thing?

Lol! :D

They are mine.

Nice SM you have there - the hand roast spit is hilarious.
My hood is my castle...
@Steam Titan: I'll be honest, I have no idea where that bit is from. I found it on the floor under my hobby table. It probably came from one of my friends minis, but they don't play Skaven. So I don't know. :)

@Shadowlord: Man I am sorry I miscredited those Maneaters. They are great and I intend to duplicate a few of them.

The claw hand is the pronged end of a pitchfork, either from the spares from the Giant sprue, or from the Empire Militia kit...

The giant sprue makes sense. That's where it must have came from.
