The "Anchor Bashers" are the latest Ogres to be released by Titan-forge for their Bloodsail Island range:
"Anchor Bashers are the veterans of Bloodsail Island ogres. Only the toughest and braves (or craziest) of the pirates can enter their ranks. Before becoming one, an ogre has to prove his worth by diving into one of the wrecked ships that surround the island and killing at least ten Razorsharks. The only weapon he can use can be salvaged from the wreckage. Ogres are not famous for their subtlety, and so, most of the candidates go straight for the ships anchor..."
I think it's the diving helms that put me off them....

I think it's the diving helms that put me off them....
Gotta agree. But the parts list for the anchor bashers lists a head, and a 'diving helmet' so you might get to choose whether or not they hav the helmet. Either way, thye may be a good enough size to use GW heads on the model
I'll let you all know, I purchased some for myself. Gonna try to run a squad of 8 maneaters...extra hand weapon in the front, great weapons in the back
Of course, the Bloodsail Island divers are way better than my Amateurish sculpts, but at least I can claim that I had a similar idea to a brilliant fella at a small mini company. I will nick a few idea of them should I pursue this idea any further.
Cheers,
Captn M.

Gutlord Inquisitor15 Apr 2012
Wow these guys are awesome. If I were starting again it would seriously tempt me to make an ogre army with their entire range.
TownezDragon16 Apr 2012
Alright, I just joined this forum specifically because I love these miniatures, and I've also been thinking of starting an Ogre army for awhile, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any other miniatures like these (maybe not so pirate-y, or anywhere to get these cheaper.
Thanks a lot, TownezDragon
jonnyandbex16 Apr 2012
i put a message on fb asking titan forge if they had made these fromresin-they said it is and they are slghtly larger than gw ogres. @townezdragon theres a thread in the butchers cauldron about alternate ogres. also i dont think they are available anywhere else for less money.

just placed my order, the postage is a bit steep. but it still works out cheaper than gw models-probliy more so if you order more than one set of figures, will put them on here when they arrive
jonnyandbex24 Apr 2012
im a little dissapointed now, the order still has not arrived and it does cost £5 to get it sent. gw generaly has it posted and recived by now
Hragged24 Apr 2012
They say this on their site regarding delivery:
Europe will normal take 5-8 business days.
DUE TO HIGH DEMAND OF OUR PRODUCTS YOUR ORDER MIGHT TAKE 7-10 MORE DAYS TO COMPLETE. WE APPRECIATE YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.
So I wouldn't worry if you've not got them yet, they're a much smaller business than GW so probably don't have the resources to get stuff out as quickly as GW would when they've got a large number of orders.
jonnyandbex24 Apr 2012
it just seems longer i guess, like when your a kid waiting for christmas. i even went out to meet the postie to see if they were there, just to get at them 5 mins early
Hragged24 Apr 2012
I'm the same when waiting for minis, hah
jonnyandbex29 Apr 2012

As I said in your gnoblog those models seem very nice indeed. Good size and quality casting from what I can see with these nice close up pictures. Was there any problems assembling them or the models them selves at all?

sadly they are very poor in the terms of assembly, some of the parts just dont fit together at all, it will be remedyd with a little green work. the sculpting on closer inspection is amatureish, eg on the ropes they have just been scored with a knife as have the scales on the mermaid and the fish. theres even gaps where the muscles have been built up and the lower back is very poor. the helmets are ace-theres the option to use them or the heads. again the heads are abismal, totaly totaly abismal. eg, the beards are stuck on and have not been properly sculpted you can see the knife work. ive used the gw bases as the moulded ones are soooooo bad, thre free to a new home. thats the bad side they are however good quality resin models and a very good price, i will use titan forge again but my message to them would be to spend 10 percent more time on the models its the finishing touches that have realy let them down. this is why they will only make second rank man eaters and gw ones in the front. theres a very solid theme going on with blood sail island and they are charicterfull models in there own right, the guys have taken the time to clean away most of the mould lines too whitch is nice and they came on the slow side of on time in a well packed box too
