Ogres of Hunger and Spite
Okay, to start of: I´m not sure about the fluff for my tribe quite yet, so I won´t write any proper stuff at the time. But my main idea is a tribe that don´t like “the ogre way”. They hate and despise the Maw and the hunger it brings, even if they love to satisfy theat feeling aswell as any ogre! Hence they´re driving a small-scale war against the Ogre race!
This probably stems from the origin of the tribe, which is a slaverebellion or something similar. All of this has gotten the whole tribe an extremely good reputation amongst more ordered races, since they have been known for siding against ogre tribes and their likes for free or little payment. Hence mistaking their zealous hate and playing where the odds are in their favour for “being good”. Consequently, this has also given them some amount of “respect” from some of the skaven clans located in the mountains of Mourn (who always apreciate some proper backstabing!).
Short about me
Male, 22 years at the moment (-89), live in Gothenburg, Sweden (originally from Karlshamn in Blekinge). Studies to become a collegeteacher in Physics and Psychology. Listens to Eminem, Metallica, Ramstein and loads of radio and other music. Like to game (PC/PS3), anime and pen & paper roleplaying! ^^
Collects mainly Ogres, but also Lizardmen and a little bit of other stuff to. Loves to convert and like to paint aswell (even if it happens all too rarely). I´ve been hanging around this forum quite a lot since just before the new release of Ogres and find the community to be the best I´ve ever seen around the net!
But Okay! To really get started, since I´ll use it as my Avatar I guess I´ll head on with my butcher!
Butcher / Slaughtermaster
On the front of the old codex there´s a butcher heading for the middle of the picture just to the right side of the tyrant. This guy is the best picture of an ogre I´ve ever seen. He looks nasty-minded and with little or no drives but his hunger. And his pose, slow and purposeful, is awesome aswell! Now I didn´t successfully duplicate him, but I think I´ve capured the pose and still made a good butcher! This is probably the best green I´ve ever done
(Next to the Ironblaster pilot for size comparison)

Talking about greens, he´s actually mostly made of Super Sculpey (“Firm” kind) and his core is an old bull body. Mostly for saving me the trouble of making him the right scale. For sure was the last time I did that thou, for even such thick pieces of plastic as a bulls leg apparently bends a little bit when heated, hence cracking the final sculpt as seen a bit below…
But it all started out like this. A bull body, some Sculpey and a bit of wire to make the next layer och clay to stick! I´ve also drilled straight throu his shoulders and inserted and bent wire to build up his arms around. Then I cured it and went on to the next step!

Another layer of clay with some texture for the next layer to get something to "hold on to". As of now just bulking up the model...

And yeah, as you can see below, it cracked when it cured :p But! Superglue and some green stuff helped me out with this one!

Aaaaaaand one from the back too...

That´s all the pictures I´ve got for you of my butcher atm! He´s been paused in favour of other ogres, mostly because I´m scared of ruining him >.<
(Info about Super Sculpey: Super Sculpey is a polymere clay that doesn´t turn hard until it reaches high temperatures in an oven or in boiling water. You do in other words have an indefinite working time on your sculpt!
It got some backlashes thou… for one it turns very hard and crispy, compared to green stuff that´s a bit flexible even after cured. This means it more easily breaks under stress! Don’t get me wrong, I´ve dropped my pretty thick blob of a butcher in the floor more than once and it havn´t broken or even chipped. But if you wanna drilla a hole in It you´ll get som heavy chipping in the surface next to your hole. Or that´s atleast the result I´ve experienced.
So I´d say that SS (Super Sculpey) is perfect for building up bulky stuff and you can then add the most important details, like the face, in GS (Green Stuff). Also, SS costs 1/10 of Greenstuff!!!
I buy it IRL from a store in town (GBG > (close to) Nordstan > InEx), so I can´t really tip you off where to get it other than there :p) Oh, and yeah, SS hold paint as well as any material after primed and painted!
My own Guidelines for Ogre conversions
I have a few things that I´d like to fulfil with my armys aperance:
- There can only be one of each face!
- A hundred swords or clubs is just fine and they can look alike, but not be identical!
- Savagery! Adding some pelts and stuff to make them look a bit mote “wild” is a must!
- No more walking for you, tubby! Static poses is a big no no, and hopefully I can make a unit or two with some speed in it. Momentum, show yourself!
- Get some beard or hair on those faces/heads…
This Gnoblog
It will probably not be very colourfull, sadly. I strive to finish the models I do, but there´s always other tempting projects you wanna get your hands on, so I usually don´t get to painting my stuff…
BUT! Me and some friends have gotten very serious when it comes to collecting and gaming, so I´m motivated like I´ve never been before (-ish), so I´ll try to get a blotch of colour in here and there ^^
Oh… and the updates will probably be quite sporadic. I put school first in all instances, and between school and this Gnoblog there´s a lot of other things on that list. So sorry, I can´t promise you guys much of loyalty in terms of regular updates…
Coming up in the Future!

As you see… too many projects! ;9

) when others do gnoblogs, so I can without doubt say that comments of any kind is very much welcome. Tell me what you like and what you don´t like! I´d love to hear it all, even if I can´t answear to everything or agree with you every time I´ll do my best
To get less text per picture:

If you read the spells from the great Maw you´ll get it! ^^ I´ll cover it better in some future post when I have it painted! Doing some spines at the moment aswell… credd to BigD for giving me this idea in his gnoblog! ^^

Last but not the least! I have to mention forum user Nightmare! She answered one of my questions over at her Legendary Gnoblog (Dragon's Mountain Tribe) in the kindest of ways, and also answered my further noob-questions about where to store your pictures etc. So many thanks to you for your help and encouragement! ^^
PS. So nobody goes ahead and spam Nightmare about all tha I´ve already asked: Host your pictures on photobucket, klick the "IMG code" while holding your mouse over a picture and paste that into your gnoblog! There you have it!
Take care people!

Anyhow, they work, even if I think they doesn´t stand out as much as I think a proper maker should. If nothing else, they were fun to do and gave me chance of practice how to (not) do my ogres gutplates

I would like to have one of each, but it´s harder putting work into something if you suspect you might not be fielding it any...
