I charge a unit with 2 units (one in each flank) of which one is an overrun move from an earlier combat that turn (let's say ironguts) (i.e. they can't pursue/overrun anymore), and the other is a regular charge (let's say yhetees). In the following combat, I destroy the entire unit. Can I overrun over the ironguts with the yhetees, or will they stop when they reach base contact with the ironguts?
edit: I'm doubting about this because when pursueing the enemy unit can run through your units which were also in combat, so actually the same question arises if I would just pursue them - could I pursue them with the unit with the highest US of which they ran away and leave the unit which they ran through behind, or do I stop when I reach base contact?

No the Yhettees would stop at the guts.

They would, however, kill the fleeing enemy unit anyways (assuming you rolled high enough).

Hold it, I didn't understand your edit question (not sure that I still do but);
Both units would pursue (unless one overan in the same turn),they pivot on the spot first, the highest US goes first and indeed if they run into a friendly unit they stop. But as Mano said, the enemy are still caught if you roll equal or higher than them, regardless of starting distances between pursuer and fleeing unit, and anything (i.e friendly unit) that would make them stop.
I hope the answer to your edit question is int there somewhere

yes the answer is in there - I just found it weird that the enemy can run through my unit but mine can't, and still kind of do

The enemy can't run through your units, they stop 1" away? Are you saying you had a unit in the front and a unit in the back and they fled through your unit in the back?

If you are attacking a unit from opposing sides, and they fail their break test, they will "run through" one of your units. But, we have to remember that dispite the perfectly arranged frontage, the battle line is extremely blurred. Once two units are in contact, we have to assume that they are all sorts of tangled up. So the enemy unit doesn't really run through your unit, they run from them. It just looks odd because our minis can't accurately represent the situation.
If, while fleeing, the enemy comes into contatact with another of our units over US5, they die.
Also, I'd have to dig up the rule book again, but I think that in the specific case of the original post, the IG's would get their full persue as I think on the overrun/pursue friendly units fron the same combat do not block your movement. Running into another unit that was not engaged in that combat would. But like I said, I'd have to pull out the rule book to make sure I'm not remembering that incorrectly.

could you dig it up? I've searched in the BRB, but I just can't seem to find it. . It's slightly ambiguous in the rules - it says I can't pursue / overrun through friendly units (which I guess only means units that aren't in combat?), and that I have to move the pursuers in declining US order.

I've searched too and can't find anything that says you do run through your own units- only that you can't

Also, what happens if a unit elects to hold? Does that prevent another unit from pursuing through them?

Well, I can't find the passage I was remembering in the multiple pursuers and fleers section, and I did find the passage that says they can get in eachothers way in the Move Pursuing Units section, so I'm going to have to chalk this one up to remembering something incorrectly.
