A butcher's workshop

original thread ↗

I'm trying to get some inspiration for a butcher's workshop and am loking for some nice ideas for 'recipes' to display. Anyone got any gruesome suggestions? This will probably be a longer term project, but I will be making it.

What do you mean? :) What like, suggestions of gory things to display? If so, maybe "exotic meats" :) Like chopped up lizardman skinks, skaven steaks, dwarf chops etc :)

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
Stuff like that yeah. The making of sausages, bits o whatever, actual dishes and stuff.

I'm thinking every good Butcher needs a vertical rotisserie for making Gyros. Only instead of typical slices of meat, a human (or other biped) leg would make for the slice.

mmmm Gyros.

Not many good places to get Gyros in Madison, WI :(

Ofcourse we will need fires. That means plenty of treekin and dryads. Hmmmm... Griffon on a spit... Or tuskgor... Gotta check what will be within my modelling skill limit. I just thought of the tied up dwarf from the starter box for the gyros. I might even be able to get one. Phonecall time!

maybe have a spear (skewer) with all types of meats on it like an all army kebab!

pez  :D
It would be funny to have a little display window with different bits from different armies ... but that might look a bit silly.

What about stealing some ideas mentioned in the OK book? You could get a Ironbreaker and chop of the legs and the head and then simply cut him in half from top to bottom. That way you can cook him in his own "shell" such as some island people would do with a tortoise.
Another thing you could do is get a big cooking pot and simply chop up a Brettonian Knight and Horse with barding and all and use the pieces to stick them out of the cooking pot goo...

Like I said this was going to be a long time project. Starting to work on it this week. Then I'll see what happens. My first try will be the butcher skinning a cow with the gnobbo doing the goat.

I got the butcher part finished. Just needs painting. The pics will have to wait till next week though. My girlfriend and sisters are walking the Nijmegen 4 days marches, so I got a nice quiet week to get some stuff done. I only have to put up with catering to 3 hungry and tired girls once they get back XD. Only problem is my camera is still at home :S

And here are Halgar and his tooth gnoblar assistant Pip. As you can see Pip is trying to imitate Halgar in everything he does. That is one of the few reasons he is still alive really, as Halgar goes through his tooth gnoblars faster then a dwarf through a keg of ale.

If it's not beyond your moddeling skills, how about a dwarf or a human tied up on a plate, with an apple in his mouth?

Also, maybe some cages of 'livestock' for later preparation..;P

Many thanks! Now it's in its proper place.

I'm currently working on a horse salad, carried by 2 gnoblars. Not really happy about the stone plate though. It will need some work before painting. Adding a human or something would be cool though.

Might be already too far along on this project to really be taking other suggestions, but something I'd do would be to get the special characters from other armies, say that damned Teclis of the High Elves and put him on the menu.  But in order for it to really get the effect, it has to be immediately recognizable as Teclis.
That's a good idea! The most hated character out there cooked up!Only have to figure out which character is the most hated and how to keep him recognisable.
