Over the past few days I decided that was going to create a 500pt Mordor army, mostly because of the new plastic troll that has just come out . I ordered the miniatures Thursday the 26, and I am awaiting them now. I hope to follow this log until the end of the army and post pictures every few days. with no further ado I present my army list!

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.
And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.

I'm a big LoTR fan so will be watching this blog closely
I've not got enough experience with Mordor (haven't bought the new book yet)but your list looks pretty balanced
Thanks Corai

thanks for the comments, the miniatures got mailed today. I was thinking of any fluff for this army, mabey a small messenger/something or other squad that goes between mordor and angmar, does this make sense?

not really, mordor, angmar, and the surronds is there turf, mabe a small scouting party or raiding force. the problem with making fluff for lotr is that the plot, characters, etc is already laid out for you, so no real "breathing room" in the fluff department.
just-josh01 Jul 2008
Like cloud said, there is no real way of making up your own fluff, without it being intensively, and rather labouriously, researched I also agree with the idea that a small raiding force would be a good idea

hey,
Ok just want you to know that this blog shall not die. I have got the miniatures yesterday and have painted the troll (which I'm quite proud of) and both orc captains, ill have the pics up tomorrow cause its to late now. also I'm very pleased with the new troll plastic set it gives a bunch of arms and four head choices and a sword, spear, and hammer also the drummer possibility and two different chest armors as well as plain body (which is very detailed, almost hurt to put on the chest armor!) over all one of my favorite sets I've bought. my only complaint is theres a long gap along the sides of the legs. pictures tomorrow hopefully!
yours, petesamd

It's good how you've co-ordinated the colour scheme of the troll with the other two . One thing- is it just me, or is it true that whenever anyone takes a picture of their miniatures, they always seem to have a giant, wooden table that the miniatures are on? It's probably a perspective thing, but still...
just-josh05 Jul 2008
Hmmm.... Now that you mention it It would seem, that wooden tables (of seemingly large dimensions) are a predominant feature in the decor of Warhammer Fans
