Enlarging bases

original thread ↗

I know that the most common way to do this is with slate, but I would like to hear about a few more techniques for making a large model (or in my case a regular model with a gnoblar) fit on a 40mm base. It must be possible to rank it up and be reasonably practical for gaming.
Cheers
If you use normal bull bodies, they fit greatly in 40mm bases, and there's enough room for a gnoblar or two, too.
Plus the arms don't really stick out that much, since they are pretty much attached to the main body.
Careful with conversions... but I don't think that is your point.
cheers

My gnoblar unit:

they are named:
Bodo, Giugi, Oscar, Spank, Grizo,
Regis, Puzzi, Gengi, Protty, Ondiz,
Marty, Monty, Zimoz

Well the model I am using for my tyrant is the Tilean maneater, and I have converted a gnoblar to carry an extra handgun. Sadly, the base looks very cramped so I was trying to thing of a way to enlarge it. If it weren't a gaming piece I would probably do a ruined building or something, for an extra level. I think I'll just use some slate though.
If your using the model for gaming, it might get a bit iffy if the base is to large....some sticklers for rules might hate you :P
You misunderstand me, but rereading my last post it's easy to understand.
Simply put:
My model won't fit on a 40mm base.
I will be using a 40mm base for the purposes of base contact, etc.
In order to make my model fit, I will be using something (probably slate) to enlarge the top of the base.
