OK, this might be a really stupid question, but when has that stopped me before?
Alright, you've been warned.
Under the "Terror" section in the book, has anyone noticed that there is nothing about needing sixes to hit back if they pass their terror test and are outnumbered by the terror causing unit? The rest of the rulings under terror are pretty much "copy/paste" from the fear rules.
So does this mean that all a unit has to do when charged by a terror causer is to pass their Ld test and they are fine? Or do you imply the fear rule as well and if you outnumber them, they need sixes? I would assume the latter, but I figured I would ask.
Just curious. Thanks in advance.

When a terror causer charges a unit that is not immune to terror and fails his terror test, the unit will flee regardless of its own unit strength, so hit on 6's doesn't matter as they don't have any attacks at all.
This only applies if you have to make a terror test

Now all we need is the 7th edition rule that said if the models are killed they don't get to fight and we WOULD be a broken army! lol

I read the rule again just to make sure but I didn't find any problem with ambiguity in the terror section. I cause terror: you take a terror check if I'm close, if I charge, if you charge. Only ever take 1 Terror test. After that take fear checks. Like Lexy said you flee automatically from a failed Terror check so in that case that I charge you will either break or be unaffected and if I charge you after you have passed a terror check in a previous turn then you take a regular fear check.

Once the Terror check is passed, Terror counts as Fear for those units. When Terror is failed, you just run.

Assuming you were out of 6" at the start of your opponent's turn, and you charge the next turn. On the charge, the receiver will have to pass a terror. If he fails, he flees. If he succeeds, he has to roll a fear test. If he fails, he only hits on 6's. If he succeeds he hits as normal. After the charge, there is no more effect on that unit unless they are below your US and you win combat, then it's snake eyes.
Nope take another look at the terror rules. If you pass your terror check you automatically pass the fear. You don't have to take two tests on the same charge.

Um... no...
The BRB states, "However, you never have to take a Terror test and a Fear test from the same enemy or situation - just take a Terror test. If you pass the Terror test, you automatically pass the Fear test too."
So, you charge in. If you pass your Terror test you continue on, if not you flee. If the Terror causing unit outnumbers the other unit at the end of the combat and wins the combat then the other unit auto-breaks per Fear, but they do not have to make an additional Fear check to charge.

Interesting. I may have to go trounce a certain undead player who had me convinced otherwise.
Alright, I know about the "if you fail you flee" terror thing, the main thing I am wondering though, is under the Terror section it says nothing about a weaker unit needing sixes to hit if the weaker unit passes the terror test.
Let me give an example, maybe that will help (or I may just make more confusion).
Tyrant with DKS in with 3 IGS (US12 total, and terror). I declare a charge on a US10 unit. They make a successful Ld test passing the terror check. However, I still outnumber them, so does that mean the fear rule is implied as well and they will need sixes to hit on the first round of combat? Or if they pass the test, they just fight as normal?
I hope that cleared it up some. I wish I had my BRB on me...

You only need 6's to hit if you fail a fear check against a charging enemy that you outnumber. In your example, you charge and he passes his terror check, which means that he automatically passes the fear check, so there will be no modifiers.

Well I guess you might be disappointed because you expected more. Straight up fleeing without having to cast a spell or cause casualties is pretty powerful.

you want a unit-bonus that automatically makes the enemy hits on 6'es in the first round of combat? Terror is bad enough as it is....
