Lords of Atlantis update 16/06

original thread ↗

It does look very cool, but that does not look like a cavalry base, at all.

If by RAW, you mean "Reg06's Audacious Whims", then you'd be right.

Never kick the sleeping ogre, unless you dont care for your head.

Besides petesamd my other title is moemoe king of the catfish.

It will server as a unit filler for 2 chaos knights and the other knights will be on cav bases

I loved that Cthulhu Ogre, though you should've given it wings.  :P

Quick update!
I´ve bin doing lot of work on the army, most of it being making all the mounts for my knights and as you can see below, sculpting my first naga warrior (chaos warrior).

I have been avoiding this project with my infantry because I´ve had a hard time making the lower snake bodies look good, but know that I´ve found an ok way of making them I´ll probably work on them along with the knights before I start on the chariot.

Until next time!
<-Peppi
I think it is important to give the tails a little more length, as that little dinky thing would have trouble supporting that upper body (armor, and banner, and weapons...). Snakes have really long tails, and when a snake lifts its upper section off the ground there is still quite a bit laying down.

Gonna side with Reg on this one. Maybe if the torso was up off the ground a little more in a "rearing up" type of pose you could get a bit more tail without cluttering the base.

Well I´ve to agree on the tail that it was a bit to stumpy and short, so i made it longer. I also put up pics from different angles and on the shield.

Enjoy!

That looks much better. Now I can't remember where I heard/read this, nor can I find a source on it (wikipedia you fail me), but I'm fairly certain that when a snake lifts its body up it never/can't lift up more than 1/3 of its length. Just food for thought (it still looks good though).

Its still warhammer fantasy, not everything he sculpts has to be precisily the way a snake is biologically build  :|
This army is looking great, I couldn't imagine ever being able to sculpt like that. Loving it!

Agreed. The model does look good, and I imagine most people won't notice the implausability of it. I don't mind it enough that I wouldn't mention it if the model wasn't up for commenting. It doesn't need to be changed at all.

Cool one :) Looking forward to see more!
Its bin awhile but I´m back with an update! I´ve bin working hard on my Atlantoids recently with the upcoming of a tournament that will be held soon, and my Lords of Atlantis will be hopefully be TT quality at least for the tournament.

So here are the results so far:

Some of it is still work in progress.

C&C are always appreciated.

the cthulhu looks great :) all these models are heavily customized!.. great job! you should get a pet gnoblar.. just paint all these and you might get one :D
Oh. My. God... :| :| They are fantastic!!! One and only gripe with them, is the eyebrows on the turtle make it look comical, not menacing. And that robs the whole model of it's sense of imposition... But, other than that, they are superb :)

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
Wow.
Smal update, I´ve started to work on my chosen unit for the army, so I´ve made one test chosen to get some feedback on.

so here he is:

So if you have any suggestions at all, please post them, cause I´ll start making the whole unit soon.

Thanks!

looks cool!.. maby add some scars to hes face? :P
And the odd starfish hanging onto a shield or armor bit...or seaweed tralining from somewhere...

Are the chosen all going to have squidheads then?
Are the chosen all going to have squidheads then?

That is correct.

If you search some inspiration.
Wow, lol.
They look a little like heavily-converted Bloodletters...
