Basic History: The life of the SkullSplitters revolves around Pit Fights more so than most other tribes. This is because they mainly comprise of ex-mercs and pit fighters who have traveled all across the known world fighting(sum way or another) for money or food (usually both), and therefore there are many different subspecies of ogre with-in their ranks, from the dark skinned Ironguts from the mountain of mourn to the near albinos of the Bad Lands. Despite this fact they are quite a peaceful tribe, as long as no body provokes them in anyway (i.e. Getting seen). Where as with most over Ogre tribe take girth as the main symbol of status, it is not so with the SkullSplitters. Physical prowess is what matters here. From leadership challenges to who gets first choice on some loot, nearly everything is decided in the Pits. If the quarrel is deemed unworthy of entering the pit then the argument will be settled with a game of Punt-A-Runt.
So far I've started with pretty much the basic paint scheme with a few alterations to it here and there. here are my first few pictures but there not great as taken on my mobile.
All suggestions welcome.
Again sorry about the quality of photos, will update with newer ones soon.

Is this supposed to be the start of a gnoblog? It's customary to include some kind of introduction or at elast some text period, not just a picture without any context. Incidentally, the picture is not showing up for me, just a red X, not sure if anyone can see it
Thanks corai
EDIT: having used my mod-ley powers I've seen you've not actually put anything between the image tags in yuor post which is why nothing's showing. This is pretty much Spam as it is, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt before throwing it to the gorgers and see if you want to edit this into some semblence of a gnoblog

to be honest, the pictures are really bad. They are too blurry to say anything about the models.

Now all we need is the 7th edition rule that said if the models are killed they don't get to fight and we WOULD be a broken army! lol

Well the yhetee looks good (very bluey-icey) and I like the use of red in the ogres. Skin and cannons look good too, pretty clean. But yeah, better pics would be good.
Lurchy006912 Apr 2008
Yeah i know i'm reallsy sorry about the quality but will be taking some pictures with a camera soon rather than my phone.
Even so i've added some more pre-paint pictres of my Rhinox Rider

Thanks, i appreciate it. It's my 1st forge world model and i think it looks well good (i mean the rhinox model, not being big headed about my modeling).
I just didn't think a short weapon such as one of the orge swords or axes looked right on such a big mount. Just wish i could use it as a lance/spear/halberd! But if im honest giving a rhinox rider a weapon that adds +1S is a little unfair.

I'll be making my bruiser soon but dont know what weapons to give him any suggestions on what works well?
You are young grasshopper, but you have long legs!
Corai14 Apr 2008
give him a great weapon. Then it can be used as a generic GW, a siegebreaker or a tenderizer, which are your best bets for equipping him really
Thanks corai

No. Cathayan longswords are pointless. The things the cathayan longsword is built to counter (fast, high weapon skill, moderately armored opponents) are all still better than you in their fields when you have the CL. Take a GW (of any sort, but not the Thundermace) and ensure that every hit is a wound, and that your opponent has almost no chance of making armor saves.

If by RAW, you mean "Reg06's Audacious Whims", then you'd be right.

Maneaters are about the only thing I'd contemplate the CLS on, but then you run into the fact that the other options available to them are as good or better. For the same points

Cool thanks people! I'll give him a great weapon, any ideas how best to fasion one of my own?

Reg0618 Apr 2008
A brassrod of a suitable diameter for the haft. Make the haft look pretty (gs wrapping for the grip, spiky butt end things like that), and then stick a suitably large head on one end (you can carve a big hunk of rock out of gs pretty easily).

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.
And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
Lurchy006920 Apr 2008
Cheers JJ i was looking for a more icy look. IMO i think i achived it.

Right so its been abit too long since i posted owt up on my Gnoblog so i thought it was about time for an update.
Since last i wrote i have added 2 butchers (one home made), started on my bruiser (home made), 2 more yehtees to finish my squad and another unit of bulls (which im contemplating converting to Ironguts) to my army. Also getting Skrag soon.
Ive also teamed up with some stumpies (Dwarfs) to destroy one of them ratty hoards! Wow that was close! But my short breatherin and i ate well that night!
I dont have many pics to add but i have two WIPs of my butcher. Ive added a weapon (a short version of the ironguts curved sword) and a GS apron. ill get somm more pics asap.
Because of lack of content i thought id post a pic of my mates dragon. and his brothers crazy Rat Ogre
