FW rhinox riders - finished

I got my FW rhinox riders last week, and have painted the first one. I'm keeping the blocks under the paws on this one as he'll be squishing things - a giant spider and a human to be precise.

Nicely done. I like the dark scheme you've taken with the fur.

I've based him. Added "gnobdog" and an unfortunate victim  . Don't mind the shinyness on gnobdog, I just varnished him

Thanks - I wanted a gnoblar storming through the rhinox's legs on something, and the dog seemed like a suitable mount for a gnoblar 



the angle of this pic makes the victim look even more cartoony 

And here's the bellower for the unit - not based yet as I want to do something special again 

I've found out what I'm going to do with the base - use leftover bitz from my building set  ;

finished the base  - I'll probably start working on the standard bearer tomorrow 













the unit so far

I finally started on the 3rd rhinox today (after some very helpful advice from corai  ) The rhinox itself is finished - the rider is due for tomorrow 

finished the last one today, so this will be the last update here  - the base will remain empty until I get a plastic giant which has the parts I plan on using on the base (like the running man)

looking good, but please give the edges of your bases another good coat of paint - the streaky effect in the pics detracts from the overall goodness

it looks like you drybrushed codex greyfor the fur, but im not sure. would you please tell me what scheme you used, cause im getting a rhinox rider soon.

Like the unit, having just built and sprayed my two rhinox riders (Ghark Irnoskin to lead them!) I like your ideas...even though it might not work, I thikn the aesthetic of the unit would benefit from putting the Thunderlord in the centre position, perhaps the standard bearer on the left (stage right) so that the banner is still central.

Overrall - awesome looking beast unit
Gnoblar on dog, not my taste but nice humorous touch!!!!!!

the fur was first drybrushed with adeptus battlegrey, and afterwards slightly drybrushed again with fortress grey

The reason the thunderlord is on the outside is because I'll be using him as a regular bull rhinox rider. So if a casualty occurs, he's the first to go
