The Knights Of The undead

Right Now you can see that I haven't work on it alot. But my Colours for Theudlf is 1/2 red, 1/2 blue, and with slitsh of black on the side. I am looking to expaned my army by Augest. My Army is located in the Mountains because it is harder to fight there then some places. My army is based on Men-at-arms, because they serve to Protect the King of Theudulf.

I still dont no what else to add to my army. I think I might get more bowman and men-at-arms, because I love the bowman and men-at-arms alot. What do you think I should add to my Bret army?

My Armies Background
In the high mountains of warhammer there is alittle village called Theudulf. The King was once a Knight for king leoncur. Then one day an chaos dwarfe came in to the city, and made the King think. That the people where trying to over throw him. So he rasied taxes and arrested people that he thought that could take him out. If he knew that those people that he arrested would join together and Make an army. I think he would of played it cool and take them out him self. But that was not the case, The rebels call them selfs "Black Knigths of Theudulf......TO be continued

is this bretonnia? if so i would change "evil" to "chaos" and arthur to leoncur (as that is the bret kings name) and your "king" would have to be demoted to "baron"

My current Progect right now is the spikes in the ground. I got the basic colours on it now I just have to but it all together then I am done it.

The pictures are impossible to make out, for two reasons;
1) they are blurry.
2) they are too far away, at least in the first photo, to see anything.

I found out how to fix the problem. So I will start updating pictuers of my force.

This is was my first model I painted. It looks ok for a beginner, dont you think?

Are you using a webcam?
you'd better use a real camera, because they have a higher quality for taking pictures.
The picture really is still blurry on my screen.

I agree. Have a look at your photo then look at any of the other photographs posted by members of the forum. You should see a stark differance between what can be seen to be commented on and what can't. If you need help with taking photos, there are plenty of tutorials out there for miniature photography. Try a google search

) is just not to take pictures at all.... Sorry I'm abit bored at work, hence the bad joking.

Well theses are my first to men at arms, and my first bowman. How do you like the painting on them? If there out of focuse for you please say something? I found a way to fix the problem.

Did you take the time to listen to any of the advice given to you by Aza and myself? The photos are still out of focus and poorly lit. We can just about make out the colours on them, and that's a stretch, let alone the painting quality. Seriously, look at some of the other photos on the forum posted by other members and what you can see in the photo, then compare it to the 2 you have just posted.

If you read the tutorials and still don't understand something please ask and we'll be happy to help with your 'photo-fu'. For example, what camera are you using to take these photographs? Is it a webcam? If so I'd recommend using a real camera (even a mobile phone camera at a pinch) as the results will almost certainly be better. Secondly, are you holding the miniature up to the camera? That is likely one of the main causes of the soft focus. Your ahnd will almost certainly be shaing some, and having a camera focus on something so small when it is perfectly still is difficult, let alone when it is constantly moving ever so slightly.

following these 2 suggestions would almost certainly improve the quality of the photographs to a stage where we were possibley able to give you some feedback on a painted miniature instead of just repeated comments on the low quality of said photographs

Well I will try to get my mom's cellphone. So I can take a picture or my sisters camera. I no the focuse is still bad, but it's better then my other photos of the same thing. At least I made an aprovement from the first set of the pictures.

I see you also haven't made any improvements on the quality of your posts. I'd understand if english wasn't your first language, but in this case it just seems like you are being lazy with your posts. It takes a maximum two minutes to run your posts through a spell checker, probably less judging by your common single sentence posts. Of all 232 of your posts I can't think of any that were written with the slightest bit of proper grammer or spelling. I apologize if I am being too harsh, but I'm sure others would also appreciate it if you could improve the quality of your posts.

Hey there,

Even though the photos are out of focus I must commend you on your painting skills for a beginner!, the archer looks really good, however I dont think the same can be said about the shield of the M @ A, maybe its just the picture quality. Try pasteing your posts in microsoft word and hitting F7, that should run an automatic spell check.

Another small pieces of advise you won't find on the links I posted is to make some sort of Photostand to put your mini's on.

Try to make a small cube out of white paper or even better find a box, spray it white and position the opening towards you.
Put the mini on a small stand and then take your picture.

No problems with shaky hands, focus, bad lightning (sp?), etc...

It will allow us to see your mini's and comment them.

Hmm, You could also try using a box and spraying outside.

Just put the mini(s) in a box ( I usually use the lit or a low box, like Battle of skull pass box) and then spray them.
Bet your mum doesn't mind that.

Lt's mum: "Why are you spraying in the garden?"
Lt: "Well I could always spray them in my closet"
Lt's mum: "No, no, this is alright"

See ( not as funny as Aza, but better for when you want something from GW the next time)

We're not making fun of your mum.

To be honest, stay away from the webcam for taking pictures.
Because you can't see any detail due to bad resolution.
I've seen pictures of beautiful miniatures taken with a webcam and the miniature looked really bad.
Better to wait longer sometimes and get a camera to take some pictures then get crappy ones.

BTW I take my pictures by laying a white piece of cloth over a chair ( making a floor and back for the miniature) and put my minatures on there.

Ok, I will not take pictures with my webcam again. I might get a cmaera before friday, so I might redo all the photo's for you guys. Now I am changeing the whole theme to undead. I was wondering what colours should be on the skin?

B) What do you mean you're changing the theme to undead? Will you be using Vampire Counts rules with Bret models, or Bret Models, Bret rules, but just make them look like they're unliving?

Yes. Yes it is. I'm also annoyed by the constant spelling mistakes in you single sentence posts.

For the actual army, will you be converting the units by mixing bits with the Vampire Counts or just painting them with undead flesh? I think you really should really do a bit more than just painting them different to pull of this theme (espescially if you plan to use them as Vampire Counts). Also, it may be difficult buying only units that can work "count as" in both armies.

I am converting alittle, but I am just painting there flesh. On the bret site, they say "that I could use bret units and make them undead, I could use VC, or both rules". Is this legal to do?

Well, just painting different coloured flesh without any conversions would just be bordering the "count as" rule when you are counting them as vampire counts. Expect to run into many problems with this army being a vampire counts army because most people will assume you are just looking for an excuse to field your brets as another army. I also can't think of any units you will be able to field brets as in the vampire army book. I'm guessing that your regular infantry will be zombies and your knights will be blood knights, but they are quite expensive so I can't think of you having very many in your army. If you plan on using pegasus knights I can't think of much they can count as in a vampire army.

I don't know much about brets so hopefully you can get help from some other members of the forum.

During the year -c1500, there was a disease that changed something living thing to undead. Only one or two armys changed to the undead, The most feared undead army is the Knights of the undead. King Leonceur banned any army that got the disease, he thought it would get ride of the problem. He was really wrong, the armies that got the disease swore revenge on the king.

The King of the undead is King Dagobert the Short. His name may sound like he is nice, but he is the crulest man in the world. He is the only one that the disease, do's not affect. People say he brought the disease to there land, but no one knows if that is true. There Kingdom is somewhere in the forest, near the Empire cities.

They say there castle is garuded by the dead. They have spys for miles and miles, looking for a sign of weakness to attack. The dark elves work for the undead, No one knows the reason for this tho.....To be continued

that is so gey (gey is a word me and my friends use).

Slightly changing the spelling of a potentially (when used in the context of soemthing negative) offensive word does not make it alright to broadcast. Espescially as your less than stellar track record with post accuracy could well make this just a typo itself. I've noticed this thread has been locked (presumably as you are redesigning the army in another blog) so I will not take the matter further. However, this is not acceptable language for the Stronghold. Re-read the rules in the main forum. You have been warned

My suggestion is to continue with the other forum (editing the un-ortodox words and making it readable) and close this.There is no need to create a new blog any time you decide on a different theme: just change the blog's title and proceed.

Instead of making them headless, how about incorporating the M@As box with the new skeleton box: if you put skeleton heads, skeleton arms and legs to a few M@As, they will look less "un-finished", and more undead.
