Well as you know I have just started building my OK Army and I will be publishing my progress here.

First of all I am sorry for not reading Sterling's start-up guide : http://ogrestronghold.com/forum/index.php?topic=8166.0 before starting purchases. I purchased all my items from ebay.co.uk and the prices include shipping to Turkey;

- Army Book : 3.24 GBP
- 5 Ogre Bulls on sprue : 10.22 GBP
- 6 Ogre Bulls on sprue : 11.17 GBP
- 9 Iron guts : 16.50 GBP
- 6 Iron Guts, 4 Lead Belchers, 4 Ogre Bulls : 35.50 GBP

With a total : 76.63 GBP I have enough models for a 2K army.

I will be converting 4 bulls/lead belchers into characters : 1 Tyrant (to be used as bruiser in smaller games) and 3 Butchers (As I have seen on most of the army lists)

I will convert another 2 bulls/lead belchers into gorgers (Yeah I love surprises and being unbreakable)

Which will give me;
5x3 Ironguts
3x3 Ogre Bulls
3 Butchers
1 Tyrant
2 Gorgers

Which is 1705 pts without any upgrades or magical items. 30 Ogres running against the enemy.

I appriciate any comments and advices.

You have a pretty darn good start on a nice ogre army. I reccommend getting some leadbelchers (you already have the cannons), and gnoblars to round out your options, and some yhetees eventually.

Not a bad price there, lad =) Don't know the condition of the models though buy there's basically nothing that a bit of bla-bla (don't know the english word for it) and some innovation won't resolve =)

Looking forward to see you're progress on these ogres ^^

I have bought 20 gnoblar fighters. I am planning to use them as quarter-masters (yes a name too big for little gnoblars  )

I have not started conversions yet, I am now just putting everything on table and try to make up my mind;

I have 15 ogre bulls.... hmmm I need 1 tyrant, 2 gorgers and 3 butchers. 4 characters+2 Gorgers+3x3 Bulls=15 yeah I can make all conversions from the bulls and keep the blechers as is...

(and he gathers everything in the box again after doing nothing...)

Thanks for the correction oNe, just miswritten. I will be converting 2 bulls into gorgers.

I have bought 55 more gnoblars and 2 ogre bulls, now I have;

- 17 Ogre Bulls
- 15 Iron guts
- 4 Lead Belchers
- 75 Gnoblars

I have started my Tyrant and I will be posting some photos.

Meanwhile as a conversion-fan I have found a dinosaur set -cheap Chinese one- which consists of a rhinox-like dinosour and a fat guy which can be converted in a slave giant.  The guy is about 2 times an Iron Gut thus seemed ok in size for a slavegiant. I will convert the dinosaur as a Scrap launcher.

Now I have 75 Gnoblars I will use them as follows;
- 2 x 20 Gnoblar Fighter
- 1 x 8 Gnoblar Trappers (with some conversion)
- 2 x 6 Scrap Launcher gnoblars (with some conversion)

And I can now target 3000pts (which means I have broken my rule for stopping at 2000pts  )

Here is the Chinese-toy Rhinox;



It is a bit larger in size from the normal Rhinox. I have placed my tyrant next to it for sizing.

And here is Peter, which will be converteed to a slavegiant;



He is about 2 times an Ogre Bull.

And here comes my tyrant conversion, I have made the tenderiser from sprue parts and empire halberd. I have made chain mail armor with green stuff, also placed armor plates on the shoulders.

You want to use bulls to convert gorgers? What are your idea's? The reason I ask is that I dislike the gorger models,  but I really like the rules (oh the dilemma). I'm also curious what you will do to make this Peter into a slavegiant.

Your armylist looks quit alright, no comments there.

I am still thinking about the gorgers  I have 2 gorger heads and trying to figure out the arms. As gorgers have a more athletic body I will cut the gut plate part until it comes near to the chest part. Then I will fill the gut plate part with greenstuff and try to draw muscles 

It will be a gorger who is thinner tahn an ogre but wearing trousers.

Peter is easier to work with (or I just hope so)... I will cut his head and place a cauldron or like instead. (like the one at the inner side of the army book's back page) The short will be cleaned from pockets and with some green stuff it will be longer. I will not change the shoes as they seem really nice. Maybe I can work on a patchwork like my friend Kyle;



It is a very difficult job maybe I can find an easier way to do it...

I have been playing tinywarz for the last few weeks and could not find time for building my army. If anyone would like to try here is the link; http://www.tinywarz.com/ I will give you just one advise before clicking; Just do not play online games if you love your warhammer armies !!!

Finally last night I could get off TW and build my gorgers while watching lord of the rings:two towers  I will be submiting the photos tonight. My gorgers are based on ogre bulls. I had first thought about filling the belly with green stuff but a complete bull with a gorger head suits my fluff more...

Meanwhile I have played 3 games at 1500 pts and just enjoyed the MSU and butchers...

My first game was against another Ogre player to teach me and he just massacred me..
My second game was against a Vampire Counts player and my Ogres ate everything on the table...
My third game was against an Empire player who lost 2 of his great units to my butchers take a panic test spell... At the end there was not a single enemy model on the field....

I just liked my Ogre army... It is great fun to hurhur on the enemy...

Building Gorgers while watching Lord of the Rings- if there is anything more nerdy than that I haven't heard of it!
Keep going, I'm eager to see what that "Peter" toy will look like as a giant

i cannot wait to see how you turn peter into a slave giant should be interesting,as for your rhinox for your scraplauncher no that will be one cool model, would you be leaving it more or less as is or goimg heavy on the actual rhinox? look forward to seeing more pics.

I have not started Peter yet, I have finished Rhinox scraplauncher but still think something is missing and will give it a rework...

I am participating in a campaign : "Golden Kingdom" at our local club. We have started with 1500pts but this week we will be playing at 2000pts and I had to realize my Gorger and Butcher projects...

And here is my first Gorger;







I was inspired with the pit fighter photo inside the back cover or army book. I thought of using the Iron Gut helmet head but when my friend gave me the gorger heads I gave it a try. I first drilled matching holes at the body and head and fixed with a bit of wire. As it gave a good aggresive look I have decided to use them.

And here is my second Gorger which is more scary 

My first butcher with bangstick (What can be a bangstick ? A stick which can fire missiles not having black powder and firing mechanism...) I have used the rifle nosle from free company and a bottom of Ogre Bull banner pole.

My second butcher who has two swords attached in place of hands. He can be used as Skrag the slaughterer.

The butchers look nice (especially the one without hands), but I'm not sure about the gorgers. I don't like the original models but the heads are a bit too large for a bull body. Also, the heads are too far removed from the body. I like the idea of savage ogres with 2 iron fists though.

After a long break I have returned back.

I have been busy building an Imperial Guard army and enlarging my brother's (!) Necron army...

I have build third butcher with a siegebreaker.. will be posting some photos soon...
