This is my Gnoblog for the Chaos army I am building. I am still gathering all the parts for it (still looking for some sabretusks if any war willing to part, send me a PM!). I have written some fluff for my army, WIPs to come in the coming weeks.
--------------------------------------------------
Far to the north of Naggoroth, past the last border forts and sentinel towers of the Dark Elves lie the barren chaos wastes. Therein dwells men who are vastly different from the men of the old world, for these men are twice the size of a normal man. Here live the Norse Marauders, folk who have lived inside the boundaries of the wastes for untold generations. The greatest and strongest among the Norse are blessed by their gods, whom we know as the gods of chaos, but to them they are only known as by their Norse names.
Many tribes dwell within the wastes, waging war with the old world and themselves. But the tribes that dwell within the mountains north of Naggoroth are different than the ones further north. Here the men have fewer mutations than their brethren. And unlike their kin, they are proud that they have remained pure for all these centuries. These men belong to the Tzen-Leo tribe; this is a tribe of fierce warriors. They have fought and captured lions from the plains below and trained them to wage war. These men ride these mighty beasts as if they were horses. They also capture fierce sabretusks from the mountains and breed them for war. But only the strongest warriors among the Tzen-Leo tribe dare take on the most terrible force in the mountains, the dreaded Manticores.
Champions from the tribe that wish a Manticore of their own, must hunt within the mountains themselves for a beast that will succumb to their will, either through beating the beast into submission or by using their skills as a beastmaster to tame the beast. For the men of the Tzen-Leo tribe, there is no higher status symbol than to claim a Manticore for ones own.
Thoronis, Lord of the Tzen-Leo Tribe, blessed of Tzeentch, rides the biggest Manticore ever captured by a tribesmen. His mount has been blessed by their gods with 2 fierce heads and a fearsome scream that turns mens minds to terror. It is said that Thoronis simply left the village of his birth one day as a young man, without a word to anyone, and returned 3 days later riding on this beast, Zartuk. Upon his arrival, his village folk were dismayed to see that not only had he captured the beast without a scratch, but in his absence he was blessed by Tzeentch with a huge, golden eye inscribed into his chest.
Of all of Thoroniss lieutenants, Korgoth, Beastmaster of the Tzen-Leo Tribe is his greatest ally. Some say that Korgoth was the first warrior to train two lions to pull the mighty chariots of the Tzen-Leo tribe. Since this creative feat of engineering, many of the champions in the tribe have claimed a chariot of their own. For his great forsight and ability as a beastmaster, Tzeetnch, The Changer of Ways, The All Seeing One, granted his blessing upon Korgoth, so that he is now the greatest beastmaster that the Tzen-Leo tribe has ever beheld.
Fuegar, The Lion, 1st lieutenant to Thoronis, is the tribes mightiest warrior. He is second in command to Lord Thoronis, and many times he leads the smaller incursions into the lands of the Dark Elves. His people gave him the nickname The Lion because once he and a small scouting party of Sabretusk riders were ambushed by a party of shades south of a sentinel tower. The sabretusks and other norsemen were all cut down by crossbow fire, but Fuegar lept from the back of his Sabretusk and rushed into the Autarii cutting them down to the last and taking their heads as his trophies. When he traveled the many leagues back to his village, slowing only to wrestle a lion along the way to ride back on, his tribesmen called him The Lion for his ferocity in battle. It is said that he still carries his trophies on his belt to this day.
