Reinforcements - break test modifier

original thread ↗

Just thought of a rule that could make some sense for working out break tests.

Reinforcements
You receive +1 to your break test if you have unengaged friendly units within 6" of 1 or more of your units engaged in the combat you are working out, that have a higher combined Unit Strength than the enemy unit(s) you are fighting. This will not modify Break Tests that would normally require insane courage. This modifier may be used by Stubborn units.

Does anyone else think it makes sense? :)

Ogre Kingdoms - Wins - 1 - Draws - 0 - Losses - 1
Beasts Of Chaos - Wins - 3 - Draws - 1 - Losses - 4

WFO - Wins - 1 - Draws - 1 - Losses - 2

It makes sense, and what's more, I like it. It makes dwarf units impossible to break (instead of almost impossible), and is a nice boon for armies that rely on masses of ranked infantry. You should include a clause that let's stubborn units use it though, and another that says it has no effect on insane courage tests. And make it so that only unengaged friendly units within 6" (6", 12" and 18" are the standards for things like this, so keep it even) grant the +1 break test bonus as a unit in combat can't very well come and reinforce their buddies.

If by RAW, you mean "Reg06's Audacious Whims", then you'd be right.

Thanks Reg! I made it up because I thought that a unit fighting an enemy but knowing it has support right next to it would up its morale really. I meant for it to be unengaged friendly units, but forgot to put that down. I'll add in those few changes.

I like the idea a lot! And it does add an extra dimension to the can be boring combat resolution phase of the game!
Keep 'em coming!
