New to the Ogre Stronghold?  This is where you can introduce yourself to other forum members.
If you like, you could let us know how long you've been wargaming, what armies you collect, or perhaps why you've decided to collect an Ogre Kingdoms army.

See you soon!
Best regards,

Hi,
I'm kinda new to the forums. I posted my first 1000pt army list (ogre and Warhammer in general) a few weeks ago on the old forums. Unfortunately I forgot to write it down so I may be posting another one in the army section for comments. I still have yet to play a game (of Warhammer), so I guess you could say I'm new to wargaming. I have played tabletop RPGs (starting w/ D&D way back in 1979) in the past, so I'm not necessarily new to the genre.
Hello!

I'm Grokfol Elfchomper. My real name is Jeff and I live in Sweden.

I have never played a game of Warhammer, either - at least not with my own army! My friend has been painting and playing Orcs & Goblins and Vampire Counts for about three years, and he was the one who introduced me to Warhammer.

Feel free to add me if you have MSN - but be sure to include some reference to Warhammer in your nickname when you do, because otherwise I might decline.

May the Maw protect you and eat your enemy's kin!

I'm new.  Just got the book, after a nearly disastrous considering of playing Empire.  Looking forward to crafting a fine army to take on my brother's dwarfs.
'ello just me (Bloodlust) back but under a differant name.
I'm also relatively new.  Been lurking for a few months and posting sparringly.  Hoping to get more involved in things as I get my first 1500 points painted and photogaphed.

Hadn't played WHFB since the late 1980's when I was 15-16, back into it now and enjoying things.

I'm a PhD student (and therefore part time teacher) in Halifax, NS, Canada.

Love the site!

New here.
Been collecting GW since first edition. Didnt start playing till end of 5th.
Been collecting for 14+ years.
Had an ungodly amount of Chaos (100k or so) switched over to Ogres and even though my win rate has gone down I have never looked back.
What can I say? I love the big buggers.
I am here to offer my allegiance to his lordship (Greasus Goldtooth) against any enemy that threatens your grand empire.

I am an orc player at heart, but my first ogre army is finally off the ground and i thought i should join.
Big hat dwarves are going down!

1) What program should I use to shrink it down

2) Or where can I find some reliable webspace to load up my avatar.

Thanks in advance guys!

I'll stab at both:

Hi everyone, I joined about week or so ago but I've had trouble logging in. Thanks to Hragged I can get logged in now. I'm quite new to Warhammer, I've only been playing for about 7 months and I'm even newer to Ogres as I've only been playing since just after Christmas. My other army is about 2.5k Vampire Counts but I enjoy having a change and playing as Ogres too.

 :)
I starting building an ogre army at Xmas

I am new to Warmammer in the sense I have yet to play it, but bought the rulebook for 6th edition when it came out.  Hopefully I'll have an army ready to use in the next month or so.  I have basecoated a lot but I have still to paint anything.

Hello.

Some of you may know me already ;). From Norway. I got about 2500 pts. Ogre Kingdoms and 2500 pts. of Dwarves. My Ogre Kingdoms army is named The Frost tribe. Check out the diary ;)

Wargut, whereabouts in Florida?
Just recently started with Warhammer, at an later age, and decided to go with Empire. I love that army and with a few games up my sleve I have decided to get me another. The only army besides Empire where I want to get all the models is for Ogres so hence this is what I will create as soon as my Empire army is complete (a few months). I was able to get a hold of the Collector Bruiser from the lost army deal.

I hail from Sweden and is closing mid-thirties.

And I am weak for all things smelly, large and bloody.  8)

Hi All,

I'm new to the board, been wargaming for 11 years and live in Sydney Oz. Chose ogre knigdoms because I loved the models & their rules as well as the fact that I don't have to paint that many to have a fully painted army. Between work, wife & baby and cricket I do not have a lot of time for gaming let alone painting. I feel there is not a lot better in the hobby than fully painted armies fighting on a table with good terrain, Ogres let me do this.

Thanks

G'day,

Well i just joined the ogre stronghold. My name is troy i am 21 and i live in australia. I've been playing 40k for many years and decided to get into fantasy. I wanted to collect a small but powerful army and i think ogres might just be what i am looking for.
Long time lurker, first time poster.

Ok, I'm not normally that cliche.  :)

I'm a complete newbie to Fantasy, but not to wargames. I've played 40k for a long time: Tau, Witch Hunters, Necrons. Friends wanted to get into Fantasy, and not a single army in Fantasy appeals to me, other than Ogres. Sorry, I just dislike every single WFB army there is... except Ogres. :D

Bought my first lot today, a box of Bulls and a Maneater (the one with a Cathyan Long Sword and Sword Gnoblar, gave him a head swap and he is my Bruiser). I've had the army book for a while so I've been reading up a heap and would like to think I know a fair bit about us Ogres.

My next purchase, eventually, will be the Batallion, and that should get me a decent army.

Plan on posting around this forum every now and then, so see you guys around aye.

Hello all!

Okay, so I'm pretty new to this forum-type stuff, but it looked like fun so thought I'd sign up.  I just started collecting my first Warhammer army - what else but Ogre Kingdoms!? - but I've never actually played Warhammer and only have a basic understanding of the rules.  (Even so, I think what small knowledge I do have comes from a rulebook that is waaaaaaay out of date!)

In my younger days I played Heroquest and Blood Bowl (anyone still remember HQ!?), so I'm not entirely new to gaming, but I've only just started getting into modelling and painting.  My first attempts were truly pitiful, so I'm hoping to pick up plenty of tips and tricks from the Butcher's Cauldron!

Right, that's enough blithering from me just now.  See you on the boards!!!
"Yea, and to tickle our noses with spear-grass to make them bleed, and then to beslubber our garments with it and swear it was the blood of true men."

Hi, I have been playing skaven for the past 7 years and I just recently picked up Ogre last year.

Looking forward to know you all.

 :)
Hi,

Just started playing again after a 12 month layoff.  15 Tournaments a year had given me burn-out!

Anyway, I wanted a new army, and nothing OTT.  Always liked the Ogre models, so that was it.

I'll be running MSU with minimum magic as I think OK magic sucks big time :)

Looking forward to hearing interesting stories, seeing some new ideas, and having a good chat.

Cheers for now.

Hey guys, I'm a long time 40K and fantasy player.  I started 40K in 1989 with Rogue Trader and Started Fantasy around 95-96 with 4th edition.  Though I have been known to play other things, I am best known for my chaos armies.  I have done many over the years, playing just about every faction possible.

Well I really like some of the Ogre character models and have picked up and painted a few in the past along with some maneaters to use as Dogs of War.  Recently, the club I belong to, The Iron Fist(Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland), has announce a Fantasy Escalation League starting mid Feb.  I agreed to play and have spent the last few weeks thinking about armies.

After finding this Forum(thanks Patrick(berkebilep)) and looking at what everyone has done here, and doing some reading about the Ogres, I decide to do an Ogre Kingdoms army for the Escalation League coming up.  The army will have a pirate theme, ala Borgols.  I had the idea before, but his models made me decide to do Ogres.

I look forward talking to all of you and sharing pictures of my army as it progesses.

Hello all,

I'm a veteran 40K player but a new entrant to the world of Fantasy Battle. I recently converted some Ogre Bulls into Ogryns for my 40K IG army and fell in love with the models so it was an easy choice for me to make when choosing an army to start WHFB.

I really enjoyed the fluff in the Ogre Kingdoms army book, which led me to create my own tribe of Ogres (led by a brutal, if rather dim witted bruiser by the name of Bogbreath Snotgobbler) and have really enjoyed the few games I've played so far.

Me, I'm 35 years young and hail from a small seaside town called Great Yarmouth, in Norfolk, England.
Stay safe and happy gaming,
Sgt Bilco
Hello everyone! i introduced myself in one of the other message boards then realized i should have done it here, so i apologize.
The names Dave and i've just started playing warhammer a month ago, at a hobby store here. Of course my first army is the ogre kingdoms! i love them although i find them a hard army to play, but still fun. i'm playing the boarder princes campaing right now at the store and allied with another ogre kingdoms player who is the owner of the store and a very seasoned veteran at warhammer. good times and loving the game :)

also love this site. so much info and everyone thus far seems like great people. i'll be sure to post lots. see you all around!

Hello I'm new to this forum but have played for a long time...They made the minis out of lead when I fist started (now don't eat them).  I quit for a while, playing warhammer because I was studying in germany.  I'm studying in france now and my city, aix-en-provence, has a GW store so I thought I would start up again :D
Being an old school empire player, at one time my army had dwarves, halflings and ogres in it.  I always thought it would be fun to have an ogre army and my DoW army has golgfag's ogres in it of course.  Well since I started playing again I had to start an ogre army... it's a dream come true
Well since I've played since 3rd edition I've played and purchased about every army there is in warhammer but my favorite was always dark elves(my most fav and played), high elves, empire, DoW, and chaos
I don't like dwarves because I think they abuse the gunline tactic a little too much and their little stunty legs make for a slow army...I know I play empire but the old school player liked lots of units of infantry and had like one unit of crossbowmen and hand gunners, one cannon and mortar and that was it...not too bad.  well that's a good intro so see y'all on the forum!!!!!!

hey guys,

Long time 40k player, currently finishing a Deathguard army up and i've settled on Ogre Kingdoms for my fantasy army.

As a theme, i'm doing chaos ogres, not necessarily Gruth Spawnchomper's tribe, but definately with a chaos theme.
HI!

i was here before the switch-around as Khemriman, but noone probably knows me because i wasnt on much.

BUT that was because i didnt actually have any Ogres yet, but as im buying some very very soon (as in tomorrow or the next day), i thought id rejoin ;)
Indeed I am a new member and as my name suggests I like pickles. I started Ogre Kingdoms a few weeks ago and have dominated all the games I've played. I also play Wood Elves. I have been constantly converting my Ogres into Pirates called The Pickle Pirates! I have been crafting eye patches out of green stuff and steal parrots from Bretonnian Knights of the realm sprues. I'm starting a conversion on my Hunter by removing his club hand and replacing it with a hook and the other hand will have the Pirate Maneater anchor, for the hand. His name will be First Mate "Anchor Fist"!!

Well........thats my moma!

Howdy all. I've been a GW player since 1987, pretty much tried every game they have put out since than. I have a pretty big Orc & Goblin army and I want to add some of the new Ogres as Dogs Of War before jumping into a new WHFB.

I also play a lot of Warmachine & many RPGs, including D&D, Savage Worlds, & SLA Industries.

OK seems like very colorful army.I'm very inexpereinced with OK right now,but thats what I'm here for. I want to learn from OK veterans.

Hi all. Great forum you've got here. Lots of good posts being made. I'm considering OK for a third army, probably much more limited (and hopefully less costly) than my other two, but OK seem like a lot of fun.

See you 'round the boards.

I am brand new to this forum, and I'm glad I found it! I just started collecting Ogres, and I've read the book cover to cover several times now. Everything about the army appeals to me. I also play 40k (Tyranids right now, another army that lives to eat!)

I look forward to posting and reading on here!

Just want to pop in and say a quick 'Hi' - nothing much to report, just another goon playing Ogres and looking for advice and general banter! :)
HUNGER STRIKES!! *bum-bada-bum*
Hello there, another new ogre player here. (Surprise, surprise.) This is my first foray into fantasy. Well, hope to see you later!
Heya guys, new Ogre player here, but old gamer. Been gaming in most of the Warhammer systems for over 15 years now. I've owned parts of literally every army ever made (and kept a lot of the bits for the mega box) but currently I only have two active armies, my Noise Marines and my budding OK. Ogres are attractive since I come from being a Skaven player, where no matter how nice and happy you make your list people still moan when they see it and complain about the cheese. It'll be nice to be the most underpowered army and still beat them into submission ;)  Also the large models are easy to convert, and I loves me some converting. Glad to be here!
Hi all,

I'm from the old forum (please update me mods) and just discovered there was a new site.  Keep up the good work guys!

I've played WHFB and 40k a long time (about 1985 for 40k).  At present for WHFB I have a BoC army and a new OK army.  I've only had OK since late 2005 and haven't played a full game with the army yet.  But that's set to change as I've finished making it and nearly finished painting it.  That is, if you can ever really finish a paint job.  I keep finding bits I've missed or want to change!

Contrary to most paint schemes I've used a pale green colour scheme using the reaper colour called ork flesh as the main colour.  I figure an ogre should look like Shrek, not a grey undead, but that's my opinion :)

I especially look forward to reading about tactics as this is the first fantasy army I've used that doesn't rely on ranks to succeed!  Read ya later...
Greetings all,

I've been reading your site for a few weeks now and thought I'd join.  I'm an old gamer in general since I was a teen back in '82.  I've been a fan of WHFB for over ten years but have only played a few games.  I've moved around a lot, and never have finished my orc army.  I play Blood Bowl a long time ago as well.  I played the 1st and 2nd edition of it but nothing since and have long ago departed with those mini's.  All but my BB ogers.  I painted them up to fit with my orc army.  The thought being what do ogers do in the off season to stay in form.

After sitting on the fence for a long time I used some Christmas money to get the oger book and a box of bulls.  I'm almost done painting them.  I was going to use them to replace the ones for my orc army but I've decided to make an oger army instead.

When my first 6 are done I'd like to post a pic of them can anyone tell me how to do it?  Once these are done I will have to wait until the summer before I can get the rest of the arm.  Kids and wife have to come before the game.

In parting I just want to say that I love the site and it has given me a ton of ideas for the rest of my army.
Yes my website is out of date and needs work but so does my painting.
Greetings.

My name is Ceodoc, MMO veteran, retired & fantasy fan for many years.
I have found WFB via my Brother, who plays Dwarves.
My first and main army is Tomb Kings.

But my second army is/going  to be Ogres.

I hope you are all well and that i am welcome here, as I build my army and seek advice/tactics.

Cheers

Ceodoc

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.

Hope to contribute more soon.... Oh and I'm a wannabe artist so hopefully will post pictures!

Hello all,

I'm new. Just getting back into warhammer after many years off:) Going with the Ogres, glad to see a new book came out.

This community is fantastic and has been so helpful in inspiration and tips on getting started. I'm doing a frost them and I'll have to post pictures when ready. Hopefully my first painted army since 2001 Dwarfs meets the grade!

Hey there the name's Tomas, I live in Australia and have been collecting this great hobby for nearly 15 years.
Just recently I grew tired of working on my 500+ model skaven army and longed for a powerful force with far-fewer models to construct and paint which led me to the discovery of the awesomeness that is the Ogre Kingdoms army.

I am a scratch builder by nature and a lover of in depth customization with some of my current projects including sculpting entire ogre units from nothing but a bulk pack of greenstuff I bought and wire to use as a skeleton.

Look forward to getting more involved around here in the future and chatting with you all.

Peace,
-Two Hammers

Hi folks,
My name is Craig and I am from Canada. I originally started playing a few months back with Wood Elves, I got started cheap and now know why, and now want to switch gears with some massive melee bombs. I so far have 2 units of Ogres and have a starting battalion on the way so looking for any advice on what to do from here. Firebelly or Slaughterer? Tyrant or Maneaters or Stonetusks and scrapblasters etc? So many units and so little time. Thanks for any help.
Welcome to the Stronghold folks!
I've been a reader here for a little while, finally getting in here for an introduction and help in the forums. I'm fairly new to warhammer, and OK is my first and only army for the time being. I chose OK because I thought they just looked awesome, and I'm glad I did!

Hi I'm new to warhammer but been involved with 40k on and of for the last 15 years

Not got any of the stuff yet but it's coming!!!!!!
At least I hope it is

Had a glance through some of the posts on the boards and like what I see

Glad to join the ranks

James
It WILL happen
I WILL paint a model

Hello,

My name is Jamie. Only been playing with Ogres for a few months... Choose them because I wanted an army a bit different to my Dwarfs (which I have been playing for about 4 years or so).

Stumbled across this site looking for general information about Ogres and liked what I saw here  :)

I look forward to getting to know you all and hope that I can contribute to this site in the future.
Hey All,

New to the site but not to the hobby. I've been playing for about 16 years but took a long break (around 7 years) and found myself back into the hobby around this time last year after I discovered an independent store had opened down the road from my parents house. I'm English but live in Poland and still consider my local store to be the one near my parents house :P

I've had an Ogre army since they were released... well, technically before they were released because I got the army deal box set before it hit the shelves. Staff perks ;) I have around 1500 points of ogres but to be honest I'll most likely be trying to shift them at some point. I rarely get chance to play these days and they're still in the UK so never see the light of day. At the moment I'm working on an empire army which I started last year when I re-entered the hobby and they've been a lot of fun to paint up so far.

Anyway, if I end up keeping my ogres I'll probably spend more time around here but if not then keep and eye out in the trading section ;)
Hi all
I have been collecting ogres for about 2 years now have still to find the right paint scheme for me.
Been lurking for about a week then decided that i like the freindly enviroment so join.

thanks sameul
Alright!!!

Lord Elpus here!! How's everyone???  Orc and goblin player extrodinare, long term gamer, ex G.W staff, Scottish and currently living in (what feels like, the back end of)Norway. I've all my own teeth, both kidneys and a dodgey right knee..
 :D

I've started work on my Ogre army so I'll try to post photos when I can..

Looking forward to meeting you all here!!

Hi all, been a viewer of the site for a few months, really liked it and decided to sign up.

Been playing 40k for a little while, but always fancied a war hammer army, ogres are going to be my army of choice. Made my first purchase of a box of ogres yesterday!

Anyway enough from me

Greetings All

I have been a long time player of WHFB for a long time now (about 10 years) and in that time have only ever had two armies, Orcs and Goblins and High Elves. Recently I have been playing more and more tournaments under ETC restrictions and am fed up of painting green and elves, so am looking for another army to take on to the tournament scene hence my interest in Ogres.

That'll do for now,

See you on the boards

Matt
Hello everyone!!!

I'm a long time Warhammer enthousiast, enven though I haven't played that much since I've joined the Hobby 15 years ago, I've been collecting different armies and trying to get them painted to a standard I'm satisfied with. That being said, I recently decided to start an Ogre Kingdom army because I've always loved their models. I was also appealed at the possibility to have an army with a low model count where I can spend more time converting and modeling.

I also own the following:
- 2500 pts and more Lizardmen army
- Around 750 pts of Beastmen
- 750 pts of Skaven
- Some Dwarves models
- Some Empire models
- A Khador Warmachine army

So I'm a big fan of tabletop games and I'm really happy to be joining you guys here at OS since I've been lurking around for quite a while and I think you guys have one of the best community around the internet.
Armies played: Ogre Kingdoms and Lizardmen
Record in 8th :         W  /  L  /  D
Ogre Kingdoms:        9  /  2  /  0
Hi There,

I'm a long time wargames player (Mordheim, WHFB, 40K, etc. you name it). Was very busy painting a dwarf army that is now somewhat ready (can an army ever be ready?).

I had the need to paint something bigger after all them dwarves :) A friend of mine was trying to get rid of his huge Ogre army (unpainted) and I made him an offer.

Now I'm the proud owner of 3500 points of Ogre goodness! Cool models including the metal Goldtooth, Skrag, hunter, the old scraplauncher, etc. etc.
Hey guys I am new Here and to Ogres. I Play Vampire Counts Competitively and have been playing GW games for about 8 years now. I always Loved the Ogre Models so I decided that there was no better time then now to get into Ogres!!
Hey everyone!

New Bull player here... Been playing WHFB for awhile now but decided to jump on an offer from a guy in my area for his used army. I play Stunties and Lizards and now Bulls =]

This is what I bought....

16 Bulls
8 Irongutz
4 leadbelchers
24 gnoblars
1 tyrant
1 butcher

Not sure where to go from here. Obviously the CORE % is taken care of for most games we play are at 2000 to 2500.

I usually play against, VC Deathstar, Empire, Chaos Tzeentch and Skaven.

Any suggestion on what too buy would be great.. also what to avoid like the plague would be nice too since wasting money in this hobby at GW prices equals suicidal thoughts!
hey guys, im reasonably new to the forum,
i did post up a gnoblog before this, but lets not think about that here :P,

ive been modelling and painting warhammer models for just about a year now,
and ive had many of armies :P,

Ogre Kingdoms is my very 1st fantasy army, and so far i am loving them,
i currently have 3 ogre armies in progress...

one standard run of the mills army, one scottish themed army (im fro Scotland btws!) and one Gnoblar horde army..... none of these are finished asof yet, but im getting stuff done slowly but surely! =] =]

anyways my name is Budd and i look forward to chatting to you guys! =] =]
Hello everyone.

I've been browsing the forums since I started playing Ogres about two months ago, and I figured it's about time to get involved in the chatter, and of course start earning achievements!

For those not up-to-date on their Ogre lore, Trug Legchomper is the legendary tyrant of old who took a dwarven cannonball to the gut and couldn't eat for a week, which lead him to invent the look-out gnoblar!
Hi guys.  I've been playing Games Workshop stuff for about three years, but just entered the world of Fantasy about 6 months ago.  I have maybe 3500 points of Ogres (went overboard and bought 1 of everything I think).  I play around 1 game a week and have been a lurker here for the past 2 months.  Looking forward to talking "Ogre" with you all.
OK: 34-10  Recent Games
1) Win vs Empire 1500 points
2) Loss vs Empire 1500 points
3) Win vs Beastmen 2400 points

Hey all.  I took a break from fantasy for about a year and picked it back up about 6 months ago.  I used to play dwarves, but now I am playing my ogres.  I have accumulated about 3000 pts. I am working on a Skrag list because of a recent post.  It sounds like a lot of fun.  Anyhow, I thought I would say hello, and hope to talk with you all on the boards!
Hola fellow Ogres!

Brand new to the forum, brand new to Ogres, and fairly new to Warhammer. Dabbled a bit in 7th Ed (Vampire Counts) however I was then deployed to Iraq and kind of fell out of the hobby. Just recently picked it back up in all it's new splendor! I currently own (if I stretch points) maybe around 2000pts worth of Ogres and am looking to expand.

Hope to fit right in with the tribe here and pick up on what seems to be a great community.
Hi guys,
nice to be part of the forums. I'm a long time fan of warhammer and warhammer 40k. As some of you may be able to tell from my username I'm a big fan of Chaos Space Marines (Death Guard!) and have a big army of said guys for 40k. I also have a small Space Wolves army and thats about it for 40k. I've played Orcs and Skaven in fantasy before but have long since sold those armies. Now after about 2-3 years me and my friends are getting into fantasy again and I'm going to be doing OGRES! I think their a totally wicked army and think this forum is quite cool.

Greetings Stronghold,

I've been posting for a little bit now but neglected to make any introduction.

I bought Ogres when they first came out.  I didn't play WHFB then, only 40k.  None of the armies back then spoke to me until I saw the Ogres.  They got me into Fantasy and since then I've collected 4.5k of them and 4.5kish of Dwarfs.  My Ogres are fully and well painted and maybe I'll make a post here soon with some pictures.  The Dwarfs are almost done...

I play in the South-west Florida circuit (not much there, no GTs) from Fort Myers to Orlando.  I mostly play tournaments and rarely get in any casual games; time is tight.

I've run into a few Ogre players who were previously active here - 1 guy had the Scottish Ogres from 7th Edition who's army I believe is still in your galleries.

Thanks for reading, cheers!

Hello,

I'm newly registered, but have visited the Stronghold regularly over the past couple of years.  After recently deciding to switch from primarily playing Dwarfs to Ogres, I thought it was finally time to sign up.

Looking forward to learning as much as I can from everyone here!

Jim (JT19)
I have never played Warhammer, but was always interested in it.  Well, I started watching a bunch of videos on it, bought a rulebook (a hefty tome indeed), and now want to play!  Picking an army was somewhat of a daunting task.  I just decided to pick one that fit my idea of how I would b as a General.  It came down to Lizardmen, Dwarfs, and Ogres...so I picked Ogres!

I am in the process of assembling and painting my army...something I think I need to do rather than buy them prepainted and assembled.  I just feel starting from scratch will make them more "mine" in a sense.

Anyways, that's it for now!

Mike
Greetings fellow lads/lasses!

Long time lurker, first time writer. I'll be refering to myself as "Heimdall" here on the forums although I regularly goes under the surname "Simon". Inhabitant of Sweden, born and raised. Have been into this hobby on-and-off for a couple of years and now have to urge to do some more modelling and playing (noob deluxe when it comes to gameplay). Mainly into FB and are currently looking to make myself a teutogen/nordic themed host using either the chaos or the Empire rules.

Heimdall

Hello everyone at the Stronghold, I've been visiting this site for a while now to collect bits of knowledge on the Ogres and I enjoyed the concept of the army so much I recently began my own Ogre army. I already have a 2,500 ish point Dwarf army so Ogres are my second Fantasy army (right now I think of them as my dwarf's mercenaries, once they grow in number they'll become a tribe.) Soon I'll be posting pictures of the army as I get it assembled and painted. Hope to meet some of you here in the future

Hello there!
My name is Mal Beastkiller, though in real life it's John.  I've been playing Warhammer for over 20 years now, off and on, and collect Dwarfs, Empire, Tomb Kings and most recently Ogre Kingdoms.  I've been lurking in this site for a while now and am really impressed by how friendly and informative it is.  There seems to be a really good bunch here and am seriously looking forward to joinging in!

See you all around!

Hi Guys
My name is Xander and i have recently started to build an Ogre Army after a very long break from Warhammer fantasy. I last played in 1984/ 85 with a large Orc & Goblin army that has long been lost, sold or just discarded whilst life got in the way.

To be honest allot has changed since i last played; for a start i dont remember there being an Ogre army back then, nor for that matter do i remember skaven...tomb kings and vampire counts were just undead and lizardmen were slann(?).

Anyway, i have made my way back to this hobby again and want to build a decent OK army that i could start playing with and more over (as this is where my real interest lays) paint and kit-bash or make etc.

I have litterally hundreds of questions about  playing an OK army which i will no doubt hassel everyone here with, and in return i will try and post up pictures of my army as it grows. I hope this is an acceptable trade!

Look forward to speaking to everyone here
Xander
Hey all

It's been about five years since I was last here on a regular basis, so I thought I would (re-)introduce myself.

I'm from Australia originally, but moved to Berlin, Germany, a few years ago to further pursue my music studies/career/etc, and basically sold all of my WH stuff before the big move. Around a year ago, I finally succumbed and bought some more plastic crack. This was primarily a painting thing, rather than a playing thing, because I haven't really found a gaming group yet here in Berlin (mainly through laziness), but I'm slowly building towards a VC army. Once this gets to a respectable size, I'm looking forward to jumping back on board properly with the Ogres.

I've also started painting up a small raiding party of Dark Eldar in 40k. This is the first 40k army I've owned since 2nd ed, so that's also pretty exciting.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting back into the hobby in a serious way over this winter.
Hello everyone,

I am Wouter and come from Belgium. I collect skaven, orcs and goblins. And also Blood angels.
I am new to the Ogres, I was really bored of painting clanrats. So i tried the ogres.

I've just bought a battalion and an ironblaster. Any ideas for other units ?

Hi there

After some serious lurking I finally decided to register.

My Name is Tobias, I'm from Germany/Bavaria and I suffer from a serious Peter Pan Syndrom, meaning that being a grown up holds unspoken terror for me  ;)

I started with WHFB many years ago and tried to raise an Ork horde, as buying was so much easier than painting I made the mistake of collecting nearly everything available via ebay and got hopelessly frustrated when looking at all the unpainted plastic.
As I never wanted to play unpainted minis I gave the whole stuff to a friend of mine.
Some years later we started a small WH40k campaign and I painted my first army, sadly painting will never be the most happy part of the hobby for me...

So when my friends had that great idea to switch from 40k to Fantasy I looked at my painting skills and the will to take up the brushes again and went for Ogres.
We started with a small force of 400 pts and that would be 7! models. Say hello to Schlogg and his fellows.
Right now I've got the batallion box painted, plus 2 mournfangs (2 more to come) and I'm painting a giant, which I kind of inherited.

As I rarely speak or write English, I'm sure to make some funny/hilarious mistakes, have a laugh at the first and please don't be shy to point out the second te me.

Time for lunch
best regards, Tobias
Greetings all!  Played Warhammer quite a bit a few years ago, and am looking to get back into both the game and my favorite army.  I shall be bugging you all for advice and tactics.  Lately I have been mostly playing Warmachine and Hordes (in fact I am a lowly Press Ganger for them).  I also have armies for 40k, Infinity, Blood Bowl, and Dystopian wars.  All in all I have been playing minis games for around a decade.
hello all. I'm new to this forum as ive only just started my ogre army. i figured this would be the best place for conversion ideas, tactics and so on. having played orcs and goblins for 4 or 5 years now i decided it was time to switch to something a little more consistant to play and with a far lower model count (theres only so many goblins you can paint before you begin to question your sanity).
Hey all,
New to the forums and wanted to say hi.  I've been into wargaming since February of last year when my friend suckered me into 40K.  I've flirted with fantasy, have the rulebook and have started collecting Skaven, and Ogres just this week.  However, I haven't played the game in over 6 months when I picked up the starter box.  As bad as it may sound, I'm way more into fantasy and want to collect and play them all, lol.  I'm hoping to have my first game with my Ogres this week.  Feel free to say hi. :)
G'day all,

I started war gaming in the late 90's playing warhammer with chaos dwarves. These days I play just about everything that involves miniatures.  My biggest downfall is I tend not to paint my armies so hoping to correct that this year.  I have decided to start an ogre army for the challenge to build an army entirely from plastic. It also had to have a reasonably small model count as I move around a lot and need to keep the army small.  I plan to start up a gnoblog once my models start arriving so fingers crossed to keep things moving.
Hi. I'm new to the forum. Have been collecting Ogres since they were first released and now have over 12000 points and it continues to grow. In addition I have sizable High Elf, Orc & Goblin, Lizardmen, Skaven, Space Orks and Black Templar armies. I am a semi-regular tournament player and also dabble in Necromunda and Mordheim
I don't believe we've been formally introduced...

I am Khaas, I run a blog called SRS Business. My primary army is Warriors of Chaos, but recently I've branched out picking up the makings of a Vampire Counts army and more importantly an Ogre Kingdoms force! I believe some of you may already know me from other forums such the Chamber of the Everchosen, Carpe Noctem, and/or Warseer.

I've been lurking around here for several months now, but thanks to a good deal with MikeyC and a few others I'm now ready to start my tribe. I've found the site very informative so far, and I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions as I work my way through the gut plates.

Currently working on:
60 Ogres
Stonehorn
2 Thundertusks
3 Sabretusks
8 Mournfangs
50 Gnoblars
2 Ironblasters
Hello all,

Play Skaven and HE.
And since 3 days Ogres... :-)
Nice big bellies, nice background stories, nice models.

Hey guys! I've been stalking these forums for a while now, but I finally decided to register! ...Mostly so I could send a message to a dude selling stuff! But also, because Ogre Kingdoms are the coolest damn army in Warhammer! ......But mostly to buy things!!
Hey all I'm cutthroatcure and I am a ogre addict.
I had been looking at starting an ogre army before the new book but had too many 40k orks to paint so I had to wait, then the new book came out and 5 people decided to start playing them ans im not much for the bandwagon. So after some time and people getting new armies I have picked these big beautiful bastards and have begun to work out the ins and outs of my new army.

I have been a long time member of dakka dakka and am excited to be here as well. MAY many enemies find their ways into your bellies (maybe a few friends too).

Im from the Nova area of USA

Hi everyone  :>D I have been reading these forums for quote a while after picking up Ogres as my first army after a 2 edition hiatus from Warhammer fantasy. I have to admit I am loving the figures and their style and am about to take part in my first tourney so I thought I should try and get some opinions on my list before taking part. Thats my excuse for joining up and I am looking forward to spending alot of time on here talking to fellow fatties in the future!  8>)
Hello all,
Looking at starting an Ogre army, have the models coming in the mail.  The main draw of this army is they are BIG - after a mini-stroke a few years ago my fine motor skills are not well.  This army will still allow me to paint and model while playing the game.

I've been playing Warhammer 40K since 2002 and Warhammer FB since 2003   Have switched in and out of many armies over the years, and currently have Grey Knights and Thousand Sons for 40K and High Elves and Ogre Kingdoms for WFB.

I live in the great Pacific Northwest and am looking forward to getting advice and pointers from the veteran Tyrants.
Hello,

I'm Kilo.  I am in the early stages of building my OK army.  I have been working on the army a little bit at a time over the past year, while I continue to work on other armies for 40k, FB, and Warmachine, but recently ramped up my efforts and bought the rest of what I needed for a core army.  All I really need now are Maneaters and a couple filler boxes.

I hope to make significant process in assembling and painting in the next couple of months because I can't really play with the army until it is painted because of the paint scheme.  I am planning on doing a swampy base, that will require the models and bases to be painted before mounting.  I have some pretty good ideas for models and I've been browsing through articles and posts on this site.

I'm glad to be part of the Ogre community!
Hi everyone,
I've been wargaming for nearly 20 years now, mostly GW stuff but more recently some other things. Worked for GW in Australia for quite a few years and have an army for just about everything. I'm here because I've just begun to put together an ogre kingdoms army with the aim of getting back into fantasy again. Looks like the place to be for an ogre player anyway.
Hi,

Long time reader, new member : )

Im fairly new to warhammer and play so far only friendly games.
Besides my ogres, I have a decent Dwarf army but turned to ogres with no outlook for a new dwarf armybook.
I enjoy painting, mathhammering, the tactics and gaming, while the fluff is secondary to me.

See you all on the boards : )

Cheers

Hello All,
I just started my first Ogre Kingdoms Army. I'm new to the forum. I'm having fun with painting these models. I like how much detail you can really put in these models. Please if you have any cool ideas on an army list that would be awesome.

Hello. I'm new to fantasy and started an OK army about 2 weeks ago for a local escalation league. Been gaming for years and have had tyranid, space marine, and now currently ork armies in 40k. Ogres caught my eye because they are big, nobody here plays them and I don't like painting hundreds of identical models.
Well, i have wood elves, empire, skaven, lizardmen, and tomb kings for fantasy.. and I'm getting rid of all of them but lizardmen and skaven.  I wanted an army that is mobile, and shooty, and combatty, and I don't have to have a huge bunker to protect a weak mage.  I bought 2 ogre battalions so far, and made a tyrant and bruiser bsb out of the boxes.  I kind of shelved my lizardmen for a bit as they got boring, and ogres really intrigued me for some reason, so here i am!  I wanted to start them years ago, but I hated painting skin, and with the foundation paints coming out, it's very easy to paint skin now.  I'm looking forward to posting pics up eventually!
Hi, I have just started with ogres, and considering I've used the site so much to plan and read up on the
faction I figured I should join!

so far, 2 mournfang done, 11 bulls (including 3 ironguts), left to make before I buy more. Intending to magnetise command so will be checking out those kind of articles.
Hello Everyone!
Just figured i would say hi and introduce myself!
I am just starting with Warhammer for the first time. In the process of building my ogre army and i am really looking forward to learning from the more experienced players
thanks
Hi Everyone!
I'm a Vampire Count player who got started with an Ogre Army a month back and thought since I've been on the Vampire Forums for a while I should give this community a try as well. I'm quite good with the Vampires (second place in 2 tournaments so far) but so far my luck with the Ogre has been nothing but a catastrophe. I hope I can get advice from here and also spread some of my thoughts/strategy on Warhammer.
Cya around!

Hi!

My name is Stephanie and I am from Canada. I recently got back into Warhammer Fantasy within the last couple of weeks. I play at my local store with my boyfriend who is also a big Warhammer Fantasy player. I have a fully painted 3,735pt army. That is before any additional upgrades and/or unit options. I really enjoy playing the game. I am still learning the rules and techniques. I am not very good at making 'good' lists. So I am always open for any advice or feedback! I would love to know what are the most fun lists to play and to get an idea of what everyone else is playing. I'm thinking of adding on to my Ogres but not sure what just yet. I will be posting pictures and army lists soon. My lists usually are ETC based.

I am excited to get to know you guys and to expand on my Ogre skills!

Thanks!

Stephanie :)
Hi Stephanie,

I'm sure you'll find us a nice enough bunch, and people will be more than to give you some help and advice on list building :)

Enjoy your stay at the Stronghold :)

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.

And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
Hello all im returning to warhammer after quiting about 2 years before 8th edition released. I was a darkelf, WoC player. Ive decided to make the plunge into ogres now because I really like the new kits they received with their update. I hope to have many discussions with you all about our large bellied friends
hi all, im craig ive been in & out the hobby since 1995 (remembering the card pull out drednaught) over that time ive led vc, woc, dwarfs.
I got back into fantasy feb and have amassed a large horde of skaven around 10,000pts. Now im near finishing them i want to start with the awesome OGRE KINGDOMS and will have a question or ten about them before i buy my first units. So i look forward to chatting with some of you, speak soon craig

ogre kingdoms: just starting
Good evening! The name's Saintspirit, can be found on a couple of other warhammer forums (f.ex. Herdstone, CotEC, the Dark City) and thought I'd join this fourm as well - manely since the thought about starting playing Ogre Kingdoms recently appeared off and on.
I otherwise collect (in WHFB) Beastmen, WoC, DoC and Dwarfs, and (in 40k) CSM, Eldar, Dark Eldar and Orks. Yes, it is quite easy for me to be allured by new releases

In any case, as I said, I have been thinking a little about making some sort of Ogre warband/army, particularly since then you don't have to make hordes of infantry all looking the same, but can make each model an interesting one. I am especially interested in Maneaters!

It's nice to be here, indeed.
Hi there, I'm flintlocklaser (Ken Coble).   Having played a few 500-pt learner games last year I am joining a 'Paint and Grow' league at my semi-local game store, and have decided on finally using the old 2005 Ogre Kingdoms starter box that has been lurking in my garage all these years!  Looking forward to learning from you folks!
Hi im from California, i have decided to start an ogre army mainly cause it's my new army project. I have VC's as my main fantasy ATM i just decided to do something different and that i didn't like the look of any of the other armies minis. Also i will be able to use this army for two systems soon enough like my undead. ATM i haven't got any models so right now i'm just brainstorming unit ideas. Its giving me a headache since i think most the time it will probably be loosing to ranks than wounds. i usually play smaller games opposed to big ones since im still not used to fantasy.
