I am considering branching into 40K (eventually at least) and was wondering what the standrd game size is for 40K, kind of like 2000pts is for fantasy. Thanks in advance.

Standard size is 1500pts but other common points are 1000, 1750 and 1850pts

Get a comfortable 2000 (as in you can do different army builds) and you'll be well off.

Uk tourney size is 1500 points (just as UK Fantasy is played most commonly at 2K) and US tourneys tend to be played at 1850 (just like 2250 for fantasy).

I really enjoy a good 400 point combat patrol though. The Combat patrol rules work much better in their 40K incarnation than the fantasy border patrol ones IMO
