ork goff army....WAAAGH!

hi, ive decided to start colecting orks for two reasons, 1 is that they are fantastic new models and 2, the codex has gotten alot better. this sunday im going to GW for my bday, and im getting the ork shokk attack gun and a unit of ork boys. As the title says, i will be painting the clan as goffs.i am still thinking of names for my mek, my warboss and my weirdboy.if anyone can give idea's for the names, it would be greatly appreciated  .i will get pictures of WIP on the weekend.

I'll give you the same advice I gave Mad-Mek; pick some orky sounds (guttural with harsh constonants and a nearly equal ratio of constonants to vowels), nouns (preferably body parts) and verbs (preferably violent). Examples;
Dragzor Bonepicker
Toka Skullgnasher
Or you could just go for straight ork names and forget the deednames. Examples;
Dragzor Maguruk
Kullzag Gurdok

UPDATE! today i will be doing a test model for the army, will get pics up tonight.but in the meantime, i have decided the names of my Characters: Ruzgut Grotkicker for the warboss, Wizdrak da Gear'ead for the big mek and Giznok the Strange for thw Weirdboy.thankyou everyone for helping me with names! now for the fluff of my warboss, ruzgut grotkicker!!

Ruzgut lifted his head, looking over what was once the battlefield.Bits of debree, body parts and discarded weapons was all that was left.The proud warboss turned to his tide of boyz and preached," Dis is a nuva triumfant win for Ruzgut Grotkicker's Boyz!!!".but little did they know that the battle wasnt over yet......

Hey blackmaw, I'm also doing an Orks Goff army. They just sound so much better than all these other sneeky, non-orky clans. Orks should be right in there smashing 'eads, and other fighty stuff. I hadn't got around too picking names for my HQ orks until Sunday there when i played 2k game against Necrons. First shot of the game from my army, i targetted his Nightbringer with Shokk Attak gun, got a direct hit, then prayed like mad for a double 6 too take him outta the game early on. But...unfortunately Mork, or Gork wasn't looking in my direction. I rolled double 1s, the blast killed my Big Mek, took out my looted Leman Russ, and kill 2 meks, and 2 lootas. I managed too kill 310 points of my own army with one shot..aaargh.
So from now on he is gonna be called Snake Eyes, not very Orkish name, but i reckon after that performance he deserves too be ridiculed by the others for ever.

Hopefully you'll have more luck that me your first game, and you won't have to change his name also.

hi all, ive just made a list of the things i will buy. i would make this into an army list but i dont have the codex .here it is!

1 warboss (one with squig hound)
1 weirdboy
1 big mek with shokk attack gun
1 trukk
1 unit of 10 boys
1 unit of 20 boys
3 warbikers
15 gretchin with runtherd

now for some more fluff!

there was a yell in the distance.After this, Ruzgut knew it wasnt over. suddenly, a tide of chaos swarmed in, filled with mostrosities of which man can't name....

sparks flew as Wizdrak made the last perfections on the warmachine. it looked as if it was thrown together in a couple of minutes due to the mount of screws and nails sticking out."Dat shood be it!"said the Mek as he looked t the trukk with proud."Dis looks like it'll get da boyz around without fallin' apart...hur hur hur."....

UPDATE!(sorry for doing so many posts in a row..). well today i went to GW and i got a warboss and the big mek with shokk attack gun for my birthday, which so happens to be tommorow !i also got a unit of ork boys.i have finished assembly of all the models.will get wip pics tommorow.

p.s: it took 3 and a half hours to build the mek!

I highly reccommend getting the ork codex (for obvious reasons), but more importantly get some pictures up.

I like that line, because aren't ALL ork vehicles thrown together at the last minute? Possibly even on the way to the battlefield.

I love that model. I'm looking for something to comment on, but while it isn't an amazingly well painted model, it is good TT quality and nothing stands out to me that needs fixing.

Ah the shokk attack gun. Aside from the box of plastic goffs I was recommended to start with by a friend, that crazy piece of orkish genius was the very first GW mdoel I bought of my own accord. [/annoying nostalgia]
