Tonight I played 2 more games with my Ogres, winning both. That puts my record to 4 games of WFB ever played, all with Ogres, all wins.
First game was a 1000 points against Empire. I dont remember my exact list but I can tell you by the end of the game I had 1 Irongut, my unharmed Bruiser and an untouched unit of 3 Bulls left alive, whilst his entire army was slaughtered. He had 2 units of Spearmen, THREE Wizards (
), 2 units of Free Company, 1 unit of Handgunners, 1 Cannon and 1 Hellblaster. I had roughly my Bruiser, 7 Ironguts (with the Bruiser), 6 Bulls (in 2 units), 8 Trappers, 2 Leadbelchers and my Gorger. As you can see, he ended up having 8 power dice to my 2 dispell dice, and I had no magic to speak of, yet with him overpowering me in both the magic and shooting phases I still won. Ogres really are unstoppable if they make it to the enemy lines...
My 2nd game was 1500 points against Dwarfs. My list was as follows (and I would like feedback please, as this may become my permanent 1500 pts list):
Heroes
Bruiser - Seigebreaker, Wyrdstone (goes in Irongut unit)
Butcher - Bangstick (by himself)
Butcher - Blood Cleaver (goes in unit of 5 Bulls)
Core
3 Bulls
3 Bulls
5 Bulls - Bellower
7 Ironguts - Standard, Bellower
8 Trappers
Special
2 Leadbelchers
2 Leadbelchers
Rare
1 Gorger
1498 points, 34 models, 4 Dispel, 6 Casting
He used a whole bunch of units that I didn't even know what they were. Warriors, Longbeards... I dont know... He had 5 War Machines though... 2 Bolt Throwers, 2 Cannons and an Organ Gun.
I had one monumental cock-up in this game. My unit of 5 remaining Ironguts with Bruiser tagging along had just finished mopping up the Thunderers squad, which happened to be right in front of the Organ Gun. They didn't overrun far enough to slam into the Organ Gun so they stopped right in front of it, and it was my turn next. Somehow I managed to completely forget about them and jump straight to my movement phase, then magic and then finally I got to my shooting phase before I remembered about charging them. By then it was too late, and I wasn't going to be unsportsman like about it and argue over it, so I let it slip, hoping the Organ Gun wouldn't cause too much damage...
Well thanks to that, he then promptly fired his Organ Gun AND remaining Cannon at my Ironguts+Bruiser unit, turning what was a unit of 6 into a unit of 2. I almost cried. If I had remembered to charge the Organ Gun would either be mushed and the Cannon wouldn't do much, or I (somehow) would have stayed in combat with the Gun and not been able to be shot at at all... I lost 4 Ironguts due to my stupidity... when I could have saved them all... let that be a lesson.
In short, I had both Butchers (with full wounds), and 1 Leadbelcher remaining at the end of the game, whilst every Dwarf on the board was slain. Another win to me... putting my tally up to 4 games... ever... and 4 wins.
It's nice when I can still win a game, despite that absolute awful mistake I made that should have cost me the game.
