Brahmir statue

original thread ↗

Hi,
I've got a question for my game against Clan Eshin 2000pts on Friday.

The Brahmir statue mentions psychology tests caused by the bearer or his unit.

I have a Tyrant and a Butcher in a unit of IG.

if I gave the Butcher the statue and the Tyrant Daemon-killer scars; would the Tyrants terror benefit from the Butchers statue?

OR

If I gave the scars and the statue to the Tyrant, would the Butcher's Braingobbler still benefit from the statue?

Is it worth taking Daemon-killer scars at all?

thanks.
I'm bookless at the moment, so I can't answer the question (seeing as how I don't know the exact wording of the items by heart), but I do have a question for you- do you really need to drop the Skavens' already measly ld by 4? 3 just isn't good enough?

If by RAW, you mean "Reg06's Audacious Whims", then you'd be right.

can't give scars and statue to a tyrant - both are enchanted items. Statue and skullmantle are 55 total, so you can't put both on a single butcher.

to more fully answer your question, you can't do what you want to do there.

the problem is, the psychology test has to be caused by the bearer of the brahmir statue in order for it to take effect. so you can do a braingobbler with your butcher using the brahmir statue, and watch the skaven run away. or if you're using a slaughtermaster, you can use the statue and the skullmantle to watch them really have no chance in staying in the fight. but in no way can the brahmir statue affect the tyrant's terror causing scars.

and to answer the chap who asked if it was necessary to do this to skaven...yes. i can't tell you how annoying it is that these little buggers get to add their rank bonus to their leadership. i mean, sure, a unit of slaves will just run away anyway as they have terrible leadership to begin with, but you get a unit of clanrats with a character in them and good luck getting them to run without a flank charge or without blowing half the unit away(which is nigh impossible for ogres in the first place). i recently used this exact tactic on a clan skyre list. problem is, clan skyre has so many magic users in it's list that i never really got to do anything with it other than scare off a single ratling gun(still fulfilling though). so hopefully this tactic employed against clan eshin will work much better than mine did. be sure to let me know how it went.

Sorry, mate.  You're wrong.

It is the bearer or the unit he's with.  If the butcher has the statue and the tyrant in the same unit has the scars, then any terror test taken by the enemy (chaos or skaven, obviously) is at -3! Invaluable.

Yeh Ugg is right here, it states- the bearer or unit he is with, quite clearly.

So the answers to the OP's questions are yes and yes.

You can't be old and wise, and have youthful memory... even if you are FF

Eshin don't have ranked units (if they're like any eshin list I've seen!) so don't get to add to their Ld - which is high by rat standards but not that high!
