/gloat

original thread ↗

This is as good a place as any for this sort of post, I guess, but feel free to move/lock/delete/spank me if I'm overstepping.

I just had to /gloat a bit. A friend of mine worked at a GW store in Arizona. The store closed and the inventory was offered to the employees at an extreme price reduction before it was shipped off to stores elsewhere for restock. I told him to jump on some ogre stuff for me. I ended up with:

Butcher
11 Ironguts
5 bulls
2 leadbelchers
10 trappers

All of this ended up in my posession for the scorching cost of US $40. :D

Rawr!

That's pretty awesome. Red shirt hook-ups are sweet.

Considering that by even a conservative estimation, that stuff would have been worth 200 dollars or so, and adds about a thousand points to my army (I only had around 15-1700 points before, and proxied a ton of ironguts to make 2k), I couldn't be happier with that sort investment for 40 bones.

Duder even painted the bulls for me. :D

I wish I had deals like that... or currently even just money like that...

Technically, the 'Dont' in the phrase 'Dont you get it?' should have an apostrophe in it, between the 'n' and the 't'.
-Oh, crap!   It's the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
-The Most Bestest Site Ever!
Because I'm weird, decided to find out how good a deal you really got.

According to my math you got $210.35 worth of stuff for $40.00.  Giving you a deal worth 81% off of retail.

My greedy inner Gnoblar is jealous! :gnoblar:

Cheers!

Nice, but five finger discounts are always best in GW. They never have cameras ;).
EndGame, this is threadomancy and don't be surprised if you hear from the mods about that.

What's threadomancy? i don't understand
Necromancy(raising the dead) + Threads = Threadomancy(Raising Dead threads to life).
Long live the Fighters!
Bretonnian Duke (2500 points), Ogre Bruiser (500 points).
I don't think we should be encouraging shoplifting either.

Yeah, I hinted at that but I not very well. I'm pretty sure stealing from the company that keeps the hobby going is not what the Stronghold is in to.
