This was a neat game against Skaven because I’ve never played them before. This would be a break threw mission and we where playing on a great chaos wasteland table at the Alderwood Mall. This presented some interesting terrain, rivers of blood crisis cross the table and the only ways across are to fly or cross a bridge. I was the attacker hey!
First round highlights he goes first only wounds a couple of bull, he negated all my magic but let 2 trollguts go threw so I had 1 wound on Skrag and one on my butcher and trollguts on my Maneaters and the lead unit of my Bulls. My Leadbelcher kill off some ratmen will big flails. They look nasty but hold their ground.
Round two, He charges my Leadbelchers who flee and eventually rallies but will do nothing for the rests of the game. He charge falls short. He now holds all the bridges. Shooting he does a couple of wounds on my bulls again. My turn I charge his Ratmen with big flails sorry I don’t know their names, with Skrag and a unit of bulls they fail their panic test for Skrags terror. (Note later my opponent realizes that his unit doesn’t take panic test) they will flee for the rest of the game. This starts a cascade effect on his whole right flank as 3 units turn and run. Mean while Skrag and 3 bulls hit the only unit that stands, they will hold their ground even though they lose combat Skrag is healed a surprise for my opponent and all the Gorger come onto the field.
Round three highlights. His master assassin takes out a unit of bulls by him self ouch!!! Maneaters are charge in the flank by a unit of rats but they hold. Rattling gun almost take out of Gorger before blowing up. Right flank keeps running. And Rat Ogres now join the flight as skrag moves within 6 inches.
Round four highlights, some more rat men join the battle with the Maneater who hold, and the butcher joins in. Gorgers crush a unit on the left flank that turned to deal with them. He is also able to get a couple warp lighting off on my bulls killing one.
Turn 5 the games is over my maneaters break threw the units holding them and they break and run the gorgers smash another unit. And Skrag kills off some more rates everything else is fleeing I now have about 70 percent of my force in his deployment zone so he calls the game.
Things learned Master Assassins kick butt, their throwing stars can dish out a lot of damage. Watch out for rattling guns luckily I was able to hide my characters from them. But they still did some damage to my screening bulls and my gorgers. And watch out for the assassin trying to teleport behind you lines. Terror is a nightmare for Skavens. Skrag did well and so did the gorgers.
