Great Maw tattoo

Ok, I've had the idea/inclination come to me suddenly to get a Great Maw tattoo...
Does this sound like a good idea to anyone? Or is it the dumbest thing you've ever heard?
Just want to see if anyone else has thought of this before or whatever...
If I get enough feedback, i'll tell where I was thinking of putting it.

Do it! I'm all about getting the Khorne symbol tattooed on myself. If anyone asks and I don't feel like explaining my allegiance to the god of murder, I can just say "oh its a cool symbol". You could do the same thing with a Maw tattoo, so I say do it!

Do it!.But the question is where to put it.I have an idea:The great Maw is basicly a hole in the ground,right?So why not represent the hole with a certan part of the body.Look on the positive side not a lot of people will see it so no explaning.

But first ask yourself; am I still going to think toy soldiers are cool in 15 years? Even if you don't, it'll still look cool.

I would put it on your belly button so that it surrounds it and makes it look like a hole.

I have a large percentage of my body tattooed and pierced.Im a trainee piercer and i can tattoo (nothing major im still learning) I already have a warhammer tattoo and i plan on getting tattoos representing all 4 chaos gods(one on each hand and foot) The great maw symbol was something that i have considered and still will probably get eventualy.As a tattooed person i know the judgements you may get based on them so you should get it somewhere you can hide it easily unless you know your going to get a lot of tattoos.I have my knuckles done and people do tend to treat me a little different based on that.The fact i have plenty of piercings and stretched ears also affects how people treat me.All i can suggest is think long and hard about it they will be there forever.

I was actually thinking of getting around the nipple on one of my breasts, which would make it rather private.
If nothing else, it'd look really cool Now the question is what colour to get it? I think a bloody sort of red with a slight black gradient at the outside would be neat...

Get it black with red bits flashed in towards the middle points on each "tooth" on the breast would be cool but howwould you show it to all of us?  is it your first ever tattoo?

Sounds awesome to me, and sweeeet placement   I like the maw in all red, but I know from experience that doesn't work so hot on skin - bleeds out and all that.  I think red with black gradient could work great, just unsure on if you mean it shades to black towards the edges?  So, kinda like a black outline blend into red fill?

Props all the same, the maw is a fine symbol wherever it goes ...

red isnt that bad a colour to tattoo its yello and white that are the worst colours ive never had any problems getting tattooed or tattooing red ink :s but itll look good with black outer edges fading/blending/flashing into red in the centre where the actual pointed "teeth" of the maw are

I was told red without an outline in black or something to contain it tended to bleed out or whatever.  The stuff I have with reds aren't so hot, and they're from 2 different artists but are both a bit washed out looking.  Maybe I'm wrong and just got ink from people who can't manage red

it must depends on the red and how th tattoo is treat sunlight and many other factors fade tattoos no matter what colour they are and i menat the tattoo would look good all lined in black with the inner bits made red

That's what I meant, red at the middle fading to just a bit of solid black at the outside, possibly with a thin outline.
I wouldn't mind taking a picture of it to show to you guys, unless it's against forum rules...
And no, it would be my second tattoo. (The first is an Ancient Egyptian Djed column right at the base of my neck/top of my spine.

Anyway, seeing as Ogre pictographs are rather rough, is there a particular image of the great maw any of you would suggest? The one on the page just inside the cover of the army book is too big and drippy and lopsided for my liking... I like the one on pg. 14, but I'd want it about twice as big probably.
Also, left or right breast?

let the tattooist look at the design and get him to draw it up for you im not sure on which breast to go for i guess it all depends on you its your body after all! but seen as im a lefty id go with the left one lol im more of a piercing sorta guy i dont think youd be allowed to post nipple pictures though

Seen a few designs from warhammer turned to tattoos and mostly they work really well
As for a maw to base it from i'd suggest the design on the banner on pg29... a little more to it than the one on p14 but not much
And personally, left 

As far as pic positing, maybe do some black box censorship ftw?  Greasy is 12 after all

And on the choice of left / right breast, the only real significance I think will be what hand you are, or if you want it nearer your heart or no (which would be your left).  Or ... do you like one better?  Maybe a funny question, but not all breasts are alike and all that ...

Not for a while, need to find a new job and pay down some debt first, but maybe before the end of the year.

No... the question is how close the ogres and the Stronghold are to your heart? IF you truly treasure ogres and the SH, choose left. Just my $0.02
