500 point list

original thread ↗

so ya im new to warhammer all together lookin to play ogres and im gonna start by 500 point game warbands and anyways should i buy the battalion box because i dont want gnoblars
on topic: can anyone create a list for me that involves no gnoblars pure ogre for 500 points?
forgot to add im playing orcs with alot of night gobbo's
Buy the batalion box. Considering the models for the money involved, consider the gnoblar free. It's a great deal...

Anyway... Simple 500 point list from a battalion box:

1 Bruiser, Great Weapon, Heavy Armor - 142 (Use an irongut with Great Weapon, convert it a little and call it a bruiser.)
3 Bulls, Bellower - 115
3 ironguts - 144
2 Leadbelchers, bellower - 110

You will have quite a few leftover models, and you have to drop the bellower on either the Bulls or Leadbelchers to get to 501 points (take your pick which one you drop... it doesn't matter much, and you can drop both if your opponent demands that you be under 500.)

Yep, batallion is probably a good choice. You can either convert a bruiser from an irongut or buy it. Not too much choices in a 500 list, I suggest the one Sterling made, or replace the leadbelchers with another unit of bulls, for more close combat potential.

At first I too didn't like gnoblars, but now I like them.
ty both ill buy the battalion and use that list icon_smile
you can only have 1 leadbelcher as a special choice in warbands, but i think you can have a special and a rare or 2 special choices.
i would get the battalion and do something like this:
Maneater w/ Great weapon and heavy armour @ 102 (use a converted irongut)
Butcher @ 130 (use a bull and convert a bit)
 3 Bulls w/ bellower @ 115
 3 ironguts @ 144
Total: 491 (gives you 10 points to play about with)
if you want change the ironguts to bulls and get rid of the bellower to get a leadbelcher

 3 ironguts w/ gutlord (general) @ 164
 3 bulls @ 105
 3 bulls @ 105
 2 bulls @ 70
 1 Leadblecher @ 55
Total: 499
This list goes for more of a massed bulls look, so is versatile and can deal with most warband problems, and can be made from the battalion box

Current Record:
Played: 10   Wins: 3  Draws: 2  Loss: 5
ty again ill try all lists ppl mention here
sorry, I missed the mention of "warbands" rules so I made a legal list. with warbands rules, i would do much of what arrante said.

3 bulls
2 bulls+ironfists
1 butcher
1 rhinox rider thunderlord on bull rhinox +heavy armour+ironfist (leader)

I wonder why......
