Aslan's army of Narnia

Hi to all, and welcome to the new forum.
This has barely anything to do with Ogres, but I saw, 2 days ago, Narnia, and I loved it.
While I was watching it, I had this awsome idea: to make a whole bret army, with centaurs (well, to say it all, I would like to make a whole Narnian army, using the bret rules).
I searched the GW site, and, after trying some conversion myself, I figured the best way to reproduce a narnian centaur is by usgin WEs Glade guards (maybe with beastmen head... still unsure, though).
Of course, I have over 4000 pts worth of 5th and 6th ed Bretonia, that I should sell, before beginning such overwhelming project.
What do you guys think? is it worthwhile?

I too saw this movie a few days ago, and similairly thought it would make a great project, not one I would be willing to undertake though.

Go for it, i think it would be absolutely brilliant.  

Oh, one other thing, don't be surprised if this is soon not the most original army, as I think this may become quite a common thing in the near future.

The army of the Ice Queen would be quite cool to do too.  It would probably suit a Chaos army with Beastmen to represent various evil creatures, Minos, Giants, and the Kislev Ice Queen mini converted to stand in a chariot pulled by polar bears (now there's an eye-catching centrepiece)...

Loved the movie too BTW, I strangely preferred this over King Kong

I am seriously thinking that glade guards' horse bodies, and elves' upper bodies work much better.
I'll post the whole army idea (unit by unit), hopefully today.

Wow, thats actually a briliant quick conversian, and the photos arn't bad at all.

If the whole army is as eye catching as that one peice you'll have yourself a winner, cant wait to see more.

I tried to do centaurs made by the new WE horses and glade guard bodies for wild riders in my WE army, the Glade guard body is way too small for a horse upper body!!!i say you ikim its a bad idea

and a question: do the centaurs in the Narnia movie have bestial heads or is it your own creation?

Using the beast head is actuallly my idea, hence the narnian centaurs are actually more elfish (hence the wood elves' idea).



You tried converting it with glade a guard's body, like I thought, and it didn't work out... mmhh, could you show pics, so I won't have to spend 30 euros? thanx

I would probably use elven horses as well. That bret barding looks a bit out of place. On the other hand, elven steeds are a bit skinny.

Anyways I think that Wood Elves would be better for representing the Army of Aslan. Wild Riders for centaurs, glade guards or dryads for fauns, eagles or hawks to represent the flying beasts...

Aslan could be Orion, or just a Highborn on stag or with alter kindred.

Yeah, I'd stick with your original torso, just change to the elven horse.
