Harlequins army list/Codex

original thread ↗

Hey,
does any body know where i can find a recent Harlequin codex or army list?
I'm looking to start a Harle List which will evolve into an eldar army, so i was wondering what the codex looks like.

Thanks

The Eldar codex is what you want. Harlequins no longer have a legal codex of their own, but the Eldar dex allows you to field 3 squads of them as elites (complete with death jestors and shadow seers). You can take jetbijkes as troops (a mainstay from harley armies of old) and an autarch or phoenix lord works as a great harlequin. Check out the gnoblogs section for mine and wildcard's harlequin blogs (Dance of Death and the Black librarians) for some more info.

It'll work out great as you will then have the eldar codex for when your army branches out from the theme

Thanks

Ashamed I didn't think of it before, I've renamed my Pet Gnoblar's Hannibal, Face, B.A., Murdock and Sam & Al Quincy, Doctor Sloan and Horatio
Thanks for that advice,
I have come up with two eldar themes for my army, here they are, your thoughts are welcome and will hopefully aid in my decison.

1. An eldar army with harlequins, the story is that the eldar are survivers from a dead craft world that only one battleship escaped with only a handful of members, they have declared their services to the black libary and now act as a bodyguard for any venturing harlequin troupes. the plan is to only have one or two harlequins, use jetbikes or rangers for troop choices, use shining spears and vypers for fast attack and either falcons or Dark reapers, the falcons are justified by the pilots in the battle ship taking up another role or the dark reapers could be converted to look like Daeth Jestors

The Other idea is:
2. A destroyed Craftworld that has only minimul forces left, to compensate for their lack of force, the craftworld has started to focus on surprise and speed to take the enemy apart slowly. the army will incorparate any units with special deployment rules (striking Scorpians, Rangers, Swooping Hawks, Warp Spiders, War Walkers) and maybe jetbikes.

I ahve also met another dilema, I kinda have a budget of £20 a month plus any money i can raise in my spare time, so i am unusre whether to expand my 1k ogres for more flexibility in 1k games or start the eldar, so i can actually play games in the wargame club i am part of, as no one plays warhammer there, but everyone plays 40k. Your advice would be helpful.

Te themes look pretty much, but I'd think with the first one, that harlequins would hardly need 'bodyguarding' by craftworld eldar. It's more likely to be the other way around icon_wink

Having considered your post, I've got a new idea. The remenants from the destroyed Craftworld, have been told by thier last farseer to follow the Harlequins as they will lead to a world that can claim as theirs once again. so to the annoyance of the Harlequins the Eldar have started to act as scouts and a reserve force for the Harlequins, the great harlequin has seen this and has consorted with the farseer. to stop disputes between the two peoples/eldars they have decided that the craftworld eldar will act as a scouting force for the harlequins as well as helping out young and inexperienced eldar in thier first battles.

But after seeing Transformers the movie, i feel compelled to do a transformers army, but can't think what army to base it on, any advice will be helpful

If you check around the net, there's a very good transformers tau army out there (lots of battlesuits converted to look like specific bots)

Thanks

Thanks for that Corai, but I've decided that my painting skills are insufficient to do the Harlequins justice, so I've decided to go for theme 2 for now, but won't start until sept time.
BTW I got hit by a crazy idea yesterday, I could do a eldar transformer army with maxed out wraithlords and wraithguard and jetbikes and vypers to represent the transformed bots, but that will be put on hold for a bit.

I'd love to see an Eldar Transformer army!
2 Pet Gnoblars! I dub them Itchy and Scratchy, for reasons that are too private to divulge.
