Options
. A Dragon Monk may purchase Throwing Stars for +4pts (Range: 12" Strength: 3 x2 Multiple Shot, Thrown Weapon)
. A Dragon Monk may replace its Cathayan Longsword with an additional hand weapon for +2pts
. a Dragon Monk may replace its Cathayan longsword with a Guan-Dao for +8pts (A Guan-Dao halves an opponents Weapon Strength for the first round of combat)
Special Rules
Swift as the River- Due to their years of training Dragon Monks have learned to move at blinding speeds, deftly avoiding attacks.
Dragon monks have a 4+ Ward Save.
Unyielding as the Mountain- The way of the Dragon Monk dispels all fear and doubt, creating a warrior who in unphased no matter the odds.
Dragon Monks treat terror causing models as only causing fear, enemies fighting against Dragon Monks do not benefit from outnumbering when calculating Combat resolution.
Dogs of War- Though most prefer the solitude of their mountain shrines, sometimes Dragon Monks will enter into an honour debt with a comander and follow them for glory and honour.
Dragon Monks count as Dogs of War. When fielded as Dogs of War Dragon Monks take up a Hero and a Rare slot
Masters of Ki- Ki is the energy that Dragon Monks believe reside within all souls. Through years of meditation and practise they have harnessed its power to perform superhuman deeds.
A Dragon monk begins the game with 3 points of Ki, throughout the game a note should be kept of how many points remain. Once a turn a Dragon Monk may spend a point of Ki to perform a superhuman act, which lasts for the length of the phase it was performed in.
Light as Air To be used at the start of the Movement Phase. Instead of making a march move the Dragon Monk may make a flying move, the Dragon Monk may not shoot and if charging may not recieve a charge bonus.
Breath of Fire to be used in the Shooting Phase. instead of making a normal shooting attack the Dragon Monk may make a single Flaming breath attack at strength 5.
Flashing Steel To be used at the start of the Close Combat Phase. A Dragon Monk using Blurring Fists may double its base number of attacks before adding bonuses such as charging.
Will of Ki To be used when Rallying fleeing troops. any fleeing friendly unit within 6" of a Dragon Monk adds an additional dice when attempting to Rally and discard one result. This effect does not work if the Dragon Monk is in Close Combat.
Exploding Heart Technique May only be used if the Dragon Monk in question is involved in a Challenge. The Dragon Monk strikes last, but auto wounds on a 4+ and deals out D3 wounds.
Wind Bender To be used in the Shooting Phase. If making a shooting attack the Dragon Monk ignores penalties for targets been behind soft cover and only suffers a -1 penalty for the target being behind hard cover.
