Ok, i was running
Bruiser - grtwpn, HA
Butcher
2 x 3 Bulls (1 IF, 1 xhw)
2 x 3 Guts - standards (1 war banner)
20 Gnoblars
8 Trappers
Gorger
My opponent was running a sacred spawning of Tepok (extra dispel dice) list with roughly
Scar Vet - Venom of the firefly
Skink Mage
15 Saurus - full command
14 Saurus - Full Command
8 Chameleon skinks
2 salamanders
The terrain was mostly woods down the flanks with just enough room on the 4x4 board to get 3 ogre units side by side.
I deployed keeping my gnoblars right at the back, my 2 bull units up front and 1 gut unit back and to the side with the bruiser and the other off on the right flank where there was a gap between terrain to get through with the butcher
He had the saurus centre and the salamanders facing down my flanking unit
Scouts i put my trappers in a wood a little way away from the salamanders with the idea o distracting them (bad move on my part) and his chameleons deployed in a wood right next to my bruisers unit of guts.
With first turn i moved my trappers out to try peppering the sallies and everything else forward max. pace (my bruisers unit of course lagging behind) with the gnoblars moving toward the chameleons. The magic phase was a wipeout (6dd was more than i could handle with a single butcher) and the sharp stuff at the slamanders did nothing other than gain their attention
His turn 1 he decided to move his saurus to within 6" to stop a bull charge and the chameleons edged out of cover to ensure short range on my ironguts, his magic phase managed nothing in return but then the chameleons kill 1 gut and the salamnders left 2 trappers fleeing the field
Turn 2 my gnoblars bickered and 1 unit of bulls and my bruisers guts declared charges on the unit of saurus without scar-vet (hoping the guts would be in range to get them away from the chameleons)... The guts were just (1/4" in it) in charge range and thanks to the earlier casualty i was able to get 2 bulls in the other unit into contact aswell... the other guts maneauvered to get a charge on the salamnders and the butcher left the unit, my gorger arrived aswell, coming on the flank opposite the salamanders and keeping away from the chameleons... magic was non-existant again but combat was short and bloody with the guts bull charge and grt wpns carving a swathe through the saurus alongside the bulls and auto-breaking them with no wounds in return... the gutrs ran quite a distance but the bulls hit the other saurus block and because of the angle (he'd angled the saurus to face off the other gut unit) actually hit the saurus flank
in his turn there was little movement other than the chameleons advancing on the gorger in view of peppering him next turn, the salamanders took cover at the edge of a wood and the mage also hid out of the charge arc of the guts... the magic phase bought a failed dispel on making my flank charging bulls WS1 and an irresistable force magic missile killing another gut from my bruisers unit causing them to flee... shooting didnt fair much better for me with a hefty 18 hits on the guts causing 8 unsaved wounds, miraculously the battered gut held his nerve though... combat my reduced ws bulls held there own losing only 1w in return for causing 2 and losing the combat only due to his musician, but they also held fast
Seeming that only my bruiser would flee he failed to rally as the 2nd unit of bulls charged headlong into the engaged saurus, my lone gut charged the salamanders, along with this my gorger carried on heading towards combat and my gnoblars bickered again... magic still failed me as my butcher started chasing the chameleon skinks trying to affect them... combat again went in my favour, striking first between 12xhw attacks and 9 club attacks i killed 8 saurus and only the scar vet caused any wound in return leaving a bull on 1 wound, again outnumbered and rolling low on fleeing distance the ogres ran down more saurus... my lone gut battered 2 skink handlers with the salamanders and got eaten in return
with that the game was mostly over, the last turn bought my butcher finally casting bonecruncher on the chameleons panicking them, the salamanders killing 1 more bull and the skink mage killing himself with a miscast and the bruiser finally rallying
A massacre for the ogres and a definite lesson for my opponent about underestimating the chunky ones
