1000 point game vs orcs and goblins. I'll skip the rest of the game because it was just a slaughter of bad rolling on top of worse rolling.
Top of turn 6 all i have left is 1 hunter on the left corner of the table and 1 DoW cannon on the right side of the table (foot of gork wrecked me). he has 2 squads of goblins, about 30 goblins each, between my two squads. and some archers on the hill out of line of sight, and two trolls who have been stupid since turn 2.
I shoot my cannon through the closest goblin squad, killing 6, causing a panic check. They fail, and run away from the cannon, towards the other goblin squad. My hunter, just like the rest of the game, fails to hurt a goblin with a bolt thrower.
Bottom of turn 6, fleeing goblins fail to rally, falling back right onto the other goblin squad, who make a panic test and fail, fleeing towards the Hunter. Now the Hunter's alone, so he can't kill them by trapped or whatever the rule is called because he's only unit strength 3, but they are still falling back.
So at the end of the game, both units of goblins, each containing a character, do not count. we pull within 38 points of each other, draw game, and would you believe that i planned it out that way..... i didn't think it would actually work, but it was the last turn and i was totally losing anyway.
I'm getting better... by the end of the summer i may actually win a game!
