Uberaris's tutorial to easy Pole-arms

original thread ↗

Ok, I found an easy way to make really good poles which are GREAT for Spears, Banner poles, etc.

Here's what you'll need, 2 ROUND bodied tooth picks, one ogre sword or club w/ hand, Hobby knife, Drill with a 5/64 drill bit, and super glue.

Step 1:
For this turorial, I'm using a Ogre hand with sword, as I will be making a halberd later. first, cut the blade and the half off as close to the hand as you can, you want each of these areas to be flat so use your knife or a file to shave or sand the top and bottom of the hand.

Step 2:
Using your 5/64 drill bit, drill straight through the hand like so. you'll need to hold the ogre's hand so be careful with the drill and go slowly. make sure  you use the drill to clean the hole by moving the fist back and forth the drill bit while its spinning, this will make it easier for the next steps.

Step 3:
Cut the tips off each of your tooth picks.

Step 4:
Put  the first tooth pick in the  top of the hand so it goes about halfway through the hand. Add a drop of glue into the hole at the bottom end of the ogres hand, and put the other tooth pick into the bottom hole. take the tooth pick on top and the tooth pick on bottom with your fingers and press inward just to make sure the  ends are touching inside, and so that the glue holds well. keep firm for about 5 seconds.

And thats  it, let it dry for a few, then go nuts with your imagination! These poles are long, and fairly sturdy, I personally coat them lightly in clear nail polish to keep them sturdy. Check out how tall this is compared to my Ogre. Feel free to clip the top or bottom to make room for what ever your planning.

Well, hope that helps, have fun and good luck!

woo!
A simple yet useful tutorial. I think this deserves a Gnoblar. A pity my opinion doesn't count overmuch in that area.
2 Pet Gnoblars! I dub them Itchy and Scratchy, for reasons that are too private to divulge.
That's great, I've been working on ways to get some alternate banner arms, or great weapons, and this'll help alot.

If by RAW, you mean "Reg06's Audacious Whims", then you'd be right.

oh wow that's really nice. I'm half tempted to take the trap hands off my champions and just give them glaives now even though champion's cant use great weapons. It would just be great for looks. Heck tempted to do it to all my ogres
