The red is very nice. We all know how difficult a decent red is to get. The checkerboard is cool and the blood splatter on the checkerboard is genius.

That's a mean looking black orc. I like the checked patterns and the splatters of blood on the shield.

Ruck03 Jul 2007
About another 90 to go, 25 of those are mounted. I hope to get them done by the end of the year for next years Rise of Kingdoms event at warhammer world if there is one.

I'm having a giant in my army and it just so happens that i've got one painted and not up to much from when I worked for GW. Not sure If I'm going to add anything orcy to him as I want to use him in my Empire army too.
Ruck06 Jul 2007
Right, army list time. thisarmy is actually based around a larp (live action role play) group I'm in (yes, I know its geeky).
the army is based around a core of heavy armour which will be my black orcs, this alomg with my giant and the boar boyz will be the main units to do the damage. The wolf riders are going to be used to chase down fleeing units and get in the way, and if I can manage it get behind a unit as the black orcs charge so if they break the wolf riders wipe them out.
I've got 7 dispell dice and 4 dispell scroll, so i'm confident that I can weather any magic thrown my way so i'll have more boyz to charge in.
Comments as always are welcome.

Great job on the giant, nice paintjob and smart idea not adding army specific bits so you can use him for both armies. As for the list, Im no orc player but it looks really solid. Get stuck in with your boys and hit him hard in the flanks with the wolves. Blorcs perform really well despite what people say on warseer, I think they're worth the points for sure. Although savage orcs with spears are absolutely brutal off the charge with the amount of attacks they have, but blorcs will definitely bring the hurt. I recently saw a giant in...erm...action and he really didn't perform well at all. I suppose its a really hit or miss unit but all in all fun to use, especially when he falls and squashes the enemies that killed him (assuming he falls the right way).
Looking good though, can't wait to see more greenies

(Thought I'd reuse this thread rather than make a whole new one)
It's only taken me a year but I've finally settled on an army I want to do. I managed to blag a spearhead a few weeks ago and am loving the new plastics, go together really well and the detail is some of the best I've seen.
I've managed to bully one of my old work mates to into selling me the codex a bit early too, after reading I've decided to go for a speed freak army, lots of boyz in trukks and lotss and lots of bikes.
Below are some pics of the stuff I've done over the last few weeks, as always comments are liked.
big mek
Trukk
Looted wagon
Kommando's ( did these a while ago, their going to get rebased and the chips repaired)
Bikes
burna boyz
Sorry some of the pics are a bit blurry, didn't have much time to take them

The models look great, but as stated, some of the photos leave something to be desired. I'dlike to see some clearer pics of the big mek, he looks great.
How did you paint the skin on these guys?
Thanks Corai

I second Corai: fantastic models, but more care is needed with pics.

The trukk needs more red paint!

Right, back from the dead and back online at last, got a few bits done which I hope you like. Hope to get more done in a week or so. Wotcha think ?
speedstream18 Mar 2008
Wow, that's some amazing work! I especially like the bikes. Do the new biker mobz come with enough options to make different looking orks for a whole unit or are they quite similar with only a few different bitz?
Amazing stuff though.
-Speedstream
Looks like your big freaky mouth bit off more than it could chew!
Ruck18 Mar 2008
Erm, there's enough to make 3 look different, but if you have lager mobs of them I'd suggest taking some heads and weapons form some other sources such as choppa boyz etc to cut down on repetion of heads and arms.
Reg0618 Mar 2008
The new stuff looks great. I almost want to start an ork army just to use the new plastics.

If by RAW, you mean "Reg06's Audacious Whims", then you'd be right.
