The Unda Kings Luna Loons (night goblin horde) WIP SQUIG GREENS

right ive been doing a bit of research today, on medieval (which is the closest thing i can think of to WHFB) royalty and royal courts,
this is because as my general is a king, or at least believes himself to be king, i think he'd try to surround himself with a court of his own, a mockery if you will...

i looked them up on wikipedia, under noble courts....

i found this page...i knew most of the information here anyway, being a historian, royalist and having a side project in medieval studies...

most of these wont be charcters per se, but may have models made of them as part of other models, for instance, the 'cofferer' and 'gentleman of the bedchamber' would be modelled onto the newly rebuilt Unda kings Palaquin when i get round to making it....

that looks pretty good have you seen the night goblin army in wd (ma the grubs baggage train) which had a goblin king on palanquin? it looks pretty cool i like the idea for all the extra character types your going to add i feel sorry for the groom of the stool lol

sorry isnt a strong enough word, and yes i have seen it it where i got the idea in the first place....ha ha sneaky stealing is a night gobbos favourite thing, apart from getting whacked out on magic mushrooms!!!!

through a wonderful trade with piemaster, my army has been expanded with:

40 spearmen
20 archers
dwarf cannon for a bolt thrower conversion

and hopefully soon to be expanded again with another 60 spearmen

huzzah! with these additions i almost have 4000 points, get in. revised 4000 point list up later on today.

thas 4000 in total and its a pretty safe list, many many core units

This is the report of the battle with the Pie Masters:

3000+ last stand match with the Unda Kings Luna Loons as the attacker

Highlights:

Turn one
2 man leadbelcher team misfiring against 5 spider riders and dramatically blowing themselves up.

Gnoblars launch sharpstuff as a charge reaction against 10 spider riders causing them to panic, the spiders flee directly into the Unda kings unit of 40 spearmen. both units flee off the board. not a good start for the goblins.

Turn two
6 fanatics are released from the three remaining spearman units and promptly go through

• 6 ogres
• 4 gnoblar trappers who flee away from the fanatic and directly into another
• 7 gnoblar fighters

Turn Three

Da Xocushuna is brutalised by a charging bull unit complete with butcher which carries on into NG spearman unit, spearmen flee

Spider riders setup a flank charge for a spearmen unit against a 4 man irongut unit, ironguts take the bait, spiders flee, ironguts get massacred by fanatic, one irongut survives, spearmen no longer charge the flank of the lone ogre as the bruisers unit is waiting for a counter flank charge.

Turn Four

Spear chukka fires upon the bruisers bull unit killing a bull and wounding the bruiser

NG shaman miscasts foot of gork with a magic mushroom and pop goes his head!

butcher unit rear charges the newly rallied spearman unit, ogres do no damage at all! spears take 5 wounds from the ogres,  ogres and butcher flee, are caught and destroyed

Both the slave giant and O+G giant square off head to head....O+G giant yells and bawls winning combat but failing to break slave giant...fanatic goes through the combat taking 3 wounds off each giant...

Turn Five
O+G giant finally kill slave giant by thumping it with club, slave giant falls on a nearby ogre unit,

Turn Six
O+G giant is consquently killed by a fanatic drawing the game to a close

i thought this game went very well, and to be honest i thought i had won, even with the loss of my general on the first turn. i was really really lucky with dice rolls especially for where my fanatics went and how much damge they did, coupled with my incredibly low rolls for Spearman unit break tests, deeply disappointed that none of my 40 archers did anything all game due to animosity but hey thats goblins!

Really like how the Squigs looks, hope I will sometime be able to sculp something myself  Nice battlereport, hope you win next time! How many goblins have you done btw? Looks like a hell o' lot goblins to me, I would never be able to paint that amount( hence why I chose Ogres as army). Good luck with the horde anyway, will be watching this blog. 

ive painted 207 goblins, got another 120 odd togo, maybe even more!, then i got squigs and bolt throwers etc to go after them
