Acouple Of My Minis (Not All Ogre Kingdom Models)

Hi there everyone I thought I would just place picture or two of some of the models I have painted for you to comment or critique as you see fit.
I'll start with the few Ogre Kingdom models that I have finished (these are not all of them btw but for reasons that will become obvious I have left them out of here)
And now for a couple of non Ogre Kingdoms minis,
Hope you like the minis, I will be painting Ogres aplenty so look forward to seeing more from me some time in the near future.

Great looking minis. You've done a great jon making a sub par sculpt (yhetee) look top notch. Your non OK models look familiar, have I seen themon another forum somewhere?

very nicely done!!! i love the yhetee, red claws!!! and the colour of the fur is so well painted!!!

great looking minis   I'll add in a vote of my own in favour of the red claws on the yhetee.  I really like the trappers tunic too.

Very nice painted, somehow the yhetee reminds me of oldskool warhamming painting style.
The sword of the yethee looks a bit watery.
But what am I complaining, great paintjobs

Hey Tim, nice to see some of your stuff here, very impressive painting as usual!! Still waiting for some tips on how to paint greenskins as well as that one in your wip on WoM!!! I'm not starting him just yet but some pointers would be good!

I'm more impressed by the photos, how do you shoot your models?

And how do you do thats background?  Sort white fading into blue thingy!?

Hi there dfb didn't realise you were a member here though I should have guessed with some of the projects i have seen you do. I completely forgot about the greenskin recipe I will get that done for you later today.
As for the photos, I use a standard compaq digi cam mounted on a tripod. I have a multipositional flourescent lamp that I plave more or less right over the camera in the direction I am taking the shot but pointing slightly down at the same time. I use the countdown timer to give myself to get clear of the cam so as not to unsteady it. As for the background that is simply an A4 sheet of paper with the blue to white gradient printed on it and placed under the mini propped up at the back with something like a pva glue bottle.
Simple as that really.

Just one lamp ?! Man I'm always (can't find a good english word for this) with sun light or multiple lamps. For my PC entry I'll try it this way.

If you want a lamp like mine then this is it in the Argos store site, I don't know if you have that where you are but this lamp or one like it shouldn't be that hard to find.

Really nice work there Tim.  Would you mind sharing your recipe for red?  It's an outstanding shade you have there!

No real secret to the red, it is basically Scab Red and then just worked up through Red Gore and then Blood Read with a little Orange into the red to finish. It looks alot richer in the photo than in real life to be honest.

Any way here are a couple more of my minis again non GK as I am only really just starting out at the GK stuff
These are my most recent minis for a project I am working on for Lotr
Hopefully I should have my Ogre Tyrant done soon and also some Iron Guts for my army in progress.

more exceptional looking minis. the bases on those gondor soldiers is fantastic, are they precast or did you make them?

They are pre-cast resin form a firm called Kerr and King. I only found out about them recently but their range is fantastic.
