Could someone re-post the pictures of the new plastic giant and its sprues? When I click the link on ogrestronghold.com, it just takes me to a page full of adverts...
You sneaky bastards!

Does anyone think it would look good with a humungous gut-plate on it's belly? There's just something about the stomach that I would want to cover up...

Someone else had said the same thing about it...
i dont really mind the belly, but it could make for an awesome conversion model, since its plastic aswell! Chop him up!

Cheers actually that someone else was me but no-one replied

Being plastic does give that added incentive to convert, can't say I'll get one myself though, really dislike this new model

Well, I saw this kind of idea before, and I'm going to say what I said back then...
Arrherrrm.
No. Ogre Giants are Slavegiants, and, 'in the mountains all is dire'. The Ogres wouldn't waste precious iron/steel/whatever on making a huge piece of metal to cover their slaves - they don't do that for the Gnoblars do they? (given there is a Gnoblar from the Irongut sprue that has a tiny gut-plate, but that's a different story.) But if you want to do it, go ahead - I think the belly of the new Giant is a little... well... ugly, too. Taking it into consideration fluff-wise, though, I would never do that.

Heh, I think it would look interesting... However, is there a Dogs of War giant I could hire in it's place which is unbreakable? Well, perhaps the Tyrant is quite fond of his pet slave-giant? So he feels like... oh... I dunno, making a giant gut-plate for it's fat gut

I think the enormous amount of just bare skin allows for alot of added extras. Tatoos, masses of arrows, Gut plates or a big belt to be dragging a chariot behind it . I'm definatly going to get one for all the extra pieces. As someone mentioned on the old forum you could make two giants from the extra pieces, all you have to do is green stuff a new body.
Psykopig03 Jan 2006
There is a slavegiant version of it...that really looks like a slavegiant to me![/img]
Grokfol Elfchomper03 Jan 2006
What, the black one?

Sort of, I suppose, I think he just looks sad, like Mrs Giant has been swinging her club about the cave, kicked him out so he can't watch the footie.

Eww, female Giant.
Anyway, yeah, but if you look at the chains around his neck etc. he looks very slave-ish.

Wow. There is a LOT of stuff on those sprues. Look at all the arrows... I've already got some ideas just from what's on the sprue. Hopefully I could make a generic Giant that I could use in either my Chaos, OK or O&G armies.
Just imagine having a Slave Giant with arrows in it's eyeballs...

No, because Chaos giants have horns and hooves You could use magnets, on the other hand...

how well do magnets work on plastic models though?

No, because Chaos giants have horns and hooves Razz You could use magnets, on the other hand...
Well, my god is Slaanesh, so he could just be a sexy non-horned giant with purple pants.
Psykopig05 Jan 2006
is sexy really the word you want to use to describe the giant?
Shawn Michaels05 Jan 2006
lol, if you're open-minded...
Seriously though, I probably will give it the horned head and a couple of Slaaneshi alterations.
Psykopig05 Jan 2006
I think it could look really cool
see this is what i love about this model, its plastic and has lots of conversion opportunities all over it.
Grokfol Elfchomper05 Jan 2006
I saw a page once with Ogre Bulls with interchangeable Ironfists/add. Hand Weapons, worked really good ^^

Magnets work very well on larger models. I did the interchangeable ironfists, hand weapons etc for my ogres - they work great.
