Greasus or Skrag? Which is better for an army?

I am trying to decide whether or not to have the Goldtooth tribe along with Greasus Goldtooth, or make up my own tribe and have Skrag the slaughterer. Any ideas? :maw:
3 dwarfs were researching ogres to find new weaponary.

1 dwarf watched leadbelchers practice, and discovered the cannon.

1 dwarf watched a scraplauncher, and discovered the stone thrower.

the last dwarf watched an ogre scratch himself in the butt with a lit torch, and discovered the flame cannon.

(I would have submit this in the comedy comp. at the ogre fair if I had time)
I'd say based on Greasus' rules and model, go with the scrag option. It gives you the chance to create some characters of your own, have a bit of tribal fluff and you'll be able to play games of les than 3000 points

The better buy is Skrag because he is cheaper and Slaughter Masters are hard to get.
I reckon both models are ugly compared to Butchers and Tyrants so convert your own, Skrag could look quite different depending on whether he is fighting or feeding the pot, just remember to keep the base size.

I love Gnomes...

... Dead Gnomes
What kind of look (articsitically speaking) do you want your tribe to have?  If you go the Goldtooth tribe then lots of gold on the Ironguts and characters could be very cool.  Rules wise though I would go with Skrag I think.  More useful in games around 2000 point or so.

I love Skragg and I feel you get more for the points you spend plus I like the model. Could they have made it better yes but theres always something to improve on. Just remember not to go Gorger crazy! 4 works well for me in a 2,000pt army and you still have points left over to build a core army.

Greasus just isn't the killing monster a tyrant should be a one on one tooled up regular tyrant would kill him!!
I would go with the model you like and the type of army your building if you want Gorgers go with Skragg.
I don't know if I would ever pick Greasus based on his combat abilites either.  Like Rogg I think that Skragg is the FAR better buy.  However think about this.  Who is your most common opponent?  IF it is an army that has low leadership then Greasus's abilities to cause stupidity, act as a standard bearer, auto rally ogre units within his line of sight and add a further bonus to combat resolution within a certain area (hoardmaster) could be considered a very good thing.  Good enough to outweigh Skragg's killing goodness?  I don't know, but you'll have to think that through on your own.  If I were playing an army like Orcs and Goblins I might consider it or maybe the Skaven (although I have only played them once).  Against armies with high leadership or armies that are immune to psychology then I'd take Skragg.
