Tyrant name: Ikimik the Greathead Tribe name: The GreatHead Tribe Fluff: The GreatHead tribe was once hired by Duke Leopold of the Empire, to protect his caravans in and out of the empire; yet Leopold betrayed the ogre tribe, which was gaining more power each day, and sent a small contingent of men to murder Mikimi (Ikimik's father, head of the GreatHead tribe). While running scared, though, one of the x-bow-men tripped over a tree root, and accidentally shot a dart, which killed Ikimk's father, wounding him to death in the throat. Now Ikimik wants vengeance, as the Empire took away his chance of murdering his father and gaining the lead of his tribe, the way every ogre should do. Leopold recently perished, killed by Gilamesh, a mercenary ogre, Ikimik hired after winning the Arena of Death, held in honor of Ikimik's birthday, but Ikimik is still eager to continue his fight against the Empire.

We are the Bloodprint tribe. Our mercenary bands have spread far and wide with a record of service as long and impressive as a Rhinox's $%#@. Our symbol can be seen on our enemies and on battlefields from Cathay to Lustria, and we shall be joining the battle in the Great Forest.
Our Tyrant is Wunka Bloodprint and Goldharg is our standard bearer and Paymaster. They met while serving in the mercenary armies of Cathay, far from home and far from the Maw. Once they were part of rival tribes, but those tribes were destroyed and their names lost in battle. Together they encountered other Ogres working in the mercenary ranks as their travels took them around the world. They gained strength and the ability to sniff out a lucrative deal. With that strength, more and more ogres came to follow them, learning the ways of the mercenary.
Wunka and Goldharg were not the only Ogres to find themselves without a tribe to return to. Ogres from all the various tribes would work as mercenaries and many would themselves without a tribe to return to. Without direction, they followed the strongest and largest Ogres they could find. Over the years, Wunka and Goldharg found themselves cutting deals and finding work for an ever-growing band of warriors with no tribe.
When news came of work and ogres migrating toward the Great Forest, Wunka and Goldharg took their band of outcasts and mercenaries, gave them a tribe and took them to rejoin their Ogres in battle.
Ogre General's Warning: Following any advice or suggestions proposed in this post could be hazzardous to your win/loss ratio. The poster above has an inflated opinion of himself and a talent for sounding like he knows what he is talking about when he is actually clueless.

I just said we should make one of these LoudGuts Tribe Garthrut the unreasonable Garthrut is an extremely traditinal Ogre and with the rise of Greasus Goldtooth as overtyrant has left the Mountains of Mourn in disgust to follow the sun. He has carved out a new kingdom in the border princes and wiped out several human settlements before coming into conflict with the night goblins of the crooked moon tribe. This conflict has steadily become more savage as more and more goblins are drawn to the fighting but the Loudguts are a large, fierce tribe and refuse to back down. Only the call of Hragged to his stronghold has slowed the fighting and leaving his Bruiser Hodrug the simple in charge he has traveled east, to late perhaps to lead but not to late to miss learning where the fighting is.

Rogg the Blue and his DeathMaw Tribe has been told by Skragg to enter into the forest and kill everything in sight!!!! Rogg has is hoping Greasus will come down from his Kingdom and give him the change to feast on his corpse. And a mighty feast it will be!!!
Grackull got his start as a Maneater who saw many campaigns working with the Scaven. When his influence and power began to rise he gathered his lads and began the Sharkeaters. This name comes from the warp tainted shark flesh that Grackull has delivered to him by the scaven on a weekly basis. Grackull after many years of ingesting the tainted meat has had very large sharks teeth sprout from his shoulders and back, while his lads have also noticed some of the same protrusions. Over the years Grackull has made many trades with his Scaven benefactors, but his most prized trade is that of his traitorus brother Skelrum. Caught attempting to take his older brothers life Skelrum was handed over the the Scaven of clan Eshin to be tortured and twisted. The pitiful Skelrum now lives out its life with a parasitic bug attached to its back constantly feeding off the emaciated ogre. His unsatiable hunger has driven him mad and he attacks anything in sight. Much like a gorger Grackull will set his younger brother free to feast on his enemys. Grackull is pleased with his tribe as it is growing fast but there is always a rumbling in his belly to try new foods and that means finding new areas for he and his lads to "hunt"

'Tyrant' Name: Skryonn, Prophet of the Great Changer Tribe Name: The Change Eaters
Despite their complex scheme of discord and destruction which is constantly being wrought on the Empire Easterly Borders, the Change Eaters understand the importance of the Ogre Kingdom's own politicking. Several times, Skryonn has moved back from his encroaching battle line to engage in internal politics, such as Ikimik's great birthday pit fight. Even now he and his trusted lietennents are en route to the Ogre Stronghold to join other ogres in a ritual show of strength. To attempt to understand Skryonn's schemeing and politicking would be to attempt to understand the very stuff of chaos itself, and that way madness lies.
As Skryonn returns to to the heart of the Ogre Kingdoms, his Tribe, the Change Eaters, is making head roads into the Empire, as more and more towns and hamlets are left undefended by the Emperor's call to arms. Only now, in the face of the nemesis crown race has Skryonn's years of scheming and bizarre route into the Empire begun to make sense.
The Change Eaters are establishing a foot hold in the Empire of Man with which to better serve their eventual employers. For even though they will only ever call Lord Tzeentch 'Master', Skryonn has already sent emissaries to other armies, offering the services of his tribe. Whispers have begun, questioning why such a tribe would want to be ordered aruond by an outsider, but Skryonn has already quashed these. His reasons are for him and Lord Tzeentch to comprehend. And after all, change is good.
Thanks Corai

Tyrant: Grrak Deadeye Ironclaw Gravestomper
Tribe: Skull Shredders
Fluff: The Skull Shredder tribe are almost fanatical in their worship of the Great Maw, and the tribe members, especially Grrak, are greatly influenced by the slaughtermaster of the tribe and his butchers. The Skullshredders are a mercenary tribe to a bull - every member is expected to take part in a warband and sell their services each year and build killing experience. Grrak himself leads a sacred crusade each year to honor the Great Maw.
During his own days in his tribes warbands, Grrak noticed that other cultures buried the bodies of their fallen instead of devouring them - he was at first confused by this, but then realized that they were honouring the Maw - they were putting their meat into holes in the ground just like the maw pits back home! However, sometimes the meat would climb back out of the holes and try to fight again! Grrak saw this as a blasphemy against the great maw. When he returned to the tribal lands and claimed the tyrant's throne, he told all his tribe aof what he had seen. Since that day the crusades of the Skull Shredders against the undead began! Recently, Grrak has heard of a trinket that the dead things want to claim, the nemesis crown. Grrak is now marching to the Ogre Stronghold with his most fanatical killers in order to lead the combined might of all the Stronghold tribes in a massive Holy Crusade to destroy the Nemesis Crown before any undead can acquire it.

Tyrant name: Gorak Tribe name: The Blackrock Tribe Fluff: The Blackrock tribe is made up of the remanents of those tribes who, devestated after the Storm of Chaos returned to the kingdoms to find a single choice, Greasus or death. These are the tribes who took the third option and fled. Brought together by Gorak an elderly maneater, they travel the empire, clearing the world of chaos warbands, fighting for fueding Lords inthe border princes and eliminating the Greenskins. Ruled by a council of the tribes old Tyrants, Gorak and Slumo (head of crusading Halflings they have picked up along the way), they fight for coin and food....

Background: Early in his career, Tolzagot was hired by the Grand Army of Cathey, unfoutanately (but foutunately for him ) he ate the nephew of the son of the Emperor after the whelp challenged his leadership. after being chased from there for that little snaffu, Tolzagot traveled to the Empire where he was hired to travel to Albion and fight for a guy named Karl. After the war, he traveled back to the Empire and ended up in a town called Middenhiem. There he developed a taste for the local priests of Sigmar and Ulric and was quickly hired to fight once more to defend the Empire. Once hired he stayed and began fighting the hordes on the walls, and there he ate a lot of funky looking humans (tentalces, horns, the whole shebang) until his contract ended and he started moving south, now with a tribe of the most blood hungry ogres at his call Tolzagot travels once more for food and gold.

Tyrant: Grotesqyi Tribe: War-Goers
Long have the War-Goers sat patiently, waiting for the time to push their evil name forward once again. It is said that in the last great war of Chaos, the War-Goers marched onto the very plains of the Empire, in numbers not countable to the naked eye, the Tyrant Shon' Y gave no quater to Chaos or Imperial foe, he smashed and ate his way through the deepest of battle lines. Miles the terrified peoples fled from this Ogre force; it is said that even the unbreakable lines of Chaos where driven back in fear on the foe known to them as, "Son of Maw, Shon' Y" Alas the battles the Ogres fought ultimately came to a bitter and horrible end. Shon' Y challenged a mighty daemon of the dirty one, confident in his gut, and his mace, he attacked without care. Hey ran (jogged) into the daemon, slamming his mighty mace into its hide, ripping decayed flesh from its blackened bone. Shon' Y cave a mighty warcry, "Move aat me way!" but the god who blessed this creature gave it incredible power, its dirty rusted blade slicing through muscle and flesh of the Ogre, his open wounds were immense, and maggots already began supping on his flesh.
The War-Goers who witnessed their mighty Tyrant killed in such a easy manner where disheartened, they simply turned and headed back to the home they emerged from, but one of Shon' Y Irongut's took over as Tyrant and rallied them, he promised them food and blood as their prize for being brave, and so he lead them to the lands of the Bretonnia, killing and ravaging whilst returning home to rethink. This new Tyrant was known as "Grotesqyi"
Grotesqyi had many allies spying in the forign lands, all paid off highly in worthless gold, these traitor humans informed him of a crown. A crown that may lift the shame from the War-Goers heads, if he claimed this for his own then he would have to be respected by man, elf, dwarf, orc and Greasus alike! Yet all he cared for was to get his belly full again on fresh elf meat, and not week old Rhinox meat.
His forces walked out of their caves, not as the War-Goers, but as the Conquest-Goers.

Tribe: The Ironboot Ruffins Tyrant: Groff Elfstomper
The Ironboot Ruffins Tribe is led by young Groff Elfstomper, an upstart tyrant who benefited from the deadly dance of a wardancer troupe. Groffs unit of bulls was decimated by the unerring accuracy of Asrai archery, causing the young bull to flee. While in his retreat, Groff came across the steaming body of the dead tyrant. Groff stopped to loot the body when the tyrants Ironguts came upon Groff standing over the body of their former tyrant. Thinking quickly for an ogre, Groff claimed he defeated the old tyrant, and he assumed leadership of the tribe. Since then Groff has led the Ironboot Ruffins to a mercenary lifestyle, traveling from land to land selling his tribes battle prowess to the highest paying paymaster. Recently, Groff has accrued enough wealth to start funding his own expeditions, attracting such famous regiments as Beorg Bearstruck and the Bearmen of Urslo and even Golgfag Maneater. The Ironboots stop from time to time to take rest at the Ogre Stronghold, and to pay a proper tithe to the Overtyrant.
Groff has heard the call to war and once again prepares to march the Ironboot Ruffins into battle. Groff looks forward to once again fighting beside some of the greatest Tyrants of the Ogre Kingdom.

Sirrah Wretched Thundergutz Longshanks the Tird. From the Flur Di Lis tribe. Usually they like to campaign in Bretonnia but of late Wretched has become bored and is looking for Adventure and a foe worthy of his ...... talents. As an adherent to the Bretonnian credo he has decided to go on his quest and is using the nemisis crown as his goal. He has had close ties with Greasus but is willing to go anywere there is a good fight. He will only be taking his elite fighter so all his maneaters and rhinox riders will be going on campaign. He has left his Lietenant Biff behind to look after the tribe. Biff is the strongest ogre he knows but is dumb as a rhinox and so Wretched is pretty sure he will be too stupid to try and take over.
Over the years Wretched has been working on his tactics learned in bretonnia and has perfected the Rhinox wedge. One of the most awe imspiring things ever seen. The Blood Iron tribe, a culturally impoverished, slightly backward tribe forced to live on the fringes of Ogre society. Long ago they migrated from the mountains to the gnoblar country to the south, and whilst they make a good living trading gnoblars to their brethren in the mountains, they long to truly test themselves in battle, and redeem their place as warriors rather than the slavers and runtherds they have grown to become. As the population grows more an more Blood Iron warbands set off to the west to seek their fortune. With news of the nemesis crown, Goras Gutpounder, the Blood Iron Tyrant himself is marching west for food, gold and battle.

Tribe: Gronk's Groundpounders Tyrant: Gronk the unreasonable flatulent
Gronk and his small tribe have been earning their way by escorting great caravans (or eating them) for several years. They're simple folk that like nothing better than to settle down of an evening with a barrel of ale and a freshly roasted halfling and re-enact the day's battles, with great enthuthiasm. Gronk heard tales of gathering armies in the far off Empire from one of the paying caravans and his head was filled with tales of riches and great feasts.
The wanderers have made the long march to the thinlings Empire in search of Feastin', Fightin' and Ale.

Tyrant: Gorgath Bonegrinder, Slaughter-Tyrant Tribe: Three Tusks
Fluff:
The Slaughter-Tyrant Sat atop his throne, blood pooling about his ankles as he devoutered an elven war horse. He watched with keen eyes about the mass of bulls below, and he watched them carefully. Meals were the appropriate time to issue challenges amongst their fellow ogre, and this happened more often then naught, on a regular basis. Gorgath was just beginning to become interested in a couple of leadbelchers had begun pouring black power in the mouths and slamming their teeth togeather, to see who could make the loudest explosion when from the corner of his eye he saw one of his larger bruisers, Tawtuk, thrown into the air like child to land on a stone table some meters away. Near instantly he recognized one of his favored hunters, punching and bashing his way though his feasting kin. Though normally a damnable offense, Gorgath allowed it this once, as it was only two nights ago that he had brought a full mammoth to his hall.
"Volk, explain your self!" the Slaughter-Tyrant spat as he stood up, hafting his great hammer "Gorecrush" ready for a fight.
Finaly making it to the great dias, the hunter put down his club, "We's gots us a problem lord. Seems dem Shortlings is in our turf... one've um says he wants ta hire us out"
Gorgath considered this. Dwarves gave lots of gold things... And sometimes war things that did strange stuff. More Importantly, they kept their word on what ever it is they say. He slammed his hammer to the ground, gaining the attention of all in attendance.
"Listen up! It seems dat the Maw has brung Shortlings in are grounds! These ain't food! If I's find out dat one of you lugs off an ate one, you'll be dealin' with me." To emphasize his point, he shoveled the skull of the horse he was just eating into his mouth, bit down and pointed at the brute that had been thrown by volk, his head began to crakle and his skull shattered in his flesh.
"These shortlings bring us gold if we wants to fight..." Golgath eyed the crowd over who was no completely attentive. "...And we love ta fight!"
The ogres began bellowing and slamming their clubs on the table in a ramshackle cheer, Golgath reached besides his throne and pulled on his chain mail faced helm. A couple of gnoblars behind him, attaching his great fur cape.
"TO WAR!" he bellowed to the enthralled crowd, and walked out of the chamber. He would meet these dwarves now, and after negotiation, would march with them on the fields of battle.
Blood would be spilled. The Great Maw would be pleased.

Wellllllll ............ let's just say that after a few centuries or so, their descendants - The Mawdhi having died on arrival - have all got a little bored and have declared a Jihmawd [or Holly War] in order to give themselves an excuse to rumble forth in to the Northern Lands, have the odd fight or three [dozen] and generally prove their worth before The Maw bites through the crust of the world.
You are who you eat!

Tyrant: Manatee, Kingsy of Da Greatribe of Manatee Tribe: The Greatribe of Manatee
Fluff: The Greatribe is a mid-sized kingdom in the southwestern part of the Mts. O' Mourn, bordered on the south by the Spice Route and Haunted Forest, the Gnoblar Country to the east, Flayed Rock, Black Fortress and the Silver Road to the north and Pigbarter and the River Ruin to the west. They have relatively mastered the technologies of fire, the wheel, and other such technologies. They are affiliated loosely with Greasus, but mostly so that he leaves them alone.
The thing that makes the Greattribe of Manatee stand out is the halflings that serve them. Once upon a time an important halfling was gripped with the wanderlust and decided to go east, bringing his whole village with him. They hitched a ride on an empire caravan then set up camp in the southwestern part of the Mts. Of Mourn. And thats where the ogres found them. The current agreement is this: halflings cook and teach them basic technologies such as fire and the ogres dont eat them or let anything else eat them all at once. Slowly, but surely the halflings have integrated themselves into the tribe's society.
In recent times this tribe has heard stories about the Nemisis Crown and have decided to use the thinlings, greenies, and stuntys obbsession with this thing as their advantage to getting more food, and to please the Maw. They are willing to fight for whoever promises them a good feast and maybe some gold, but really they don't care. They plan on making a name for themselves by being mercanarys. Though, in the back of his simple mind, Manatee wonders whether the 'krown tingy' taste good...

Tyrant: Tyrr Iron Maw the Unstopable Tribe: Iron Maw (AKA Iron Gob) Tribe
The Iron Maw tribe has an unmatched love of all things metal. An offshoot of the Ironskin Tribe, their devotion to metal goes even further. The amount of metal on your body denotes your rank in the tribe, and every ogre (and lots of gnobbos too) have had iron jaws riveted to their faces. Turning down the dwarven offer of money, they asked for one thing and one thing only. Metal, and lots of it. Quality dwarf-wrought steel and alloys previously unavailible in Ogre sizes. Tyrr would not rest until his whole tribe was covered in quality metal. If he needed to hand a stunty a shiny hat, so be it. Woe betide the wearer of said hat.

Tyrant; Sargon Mawtouched Manykill the Unquenchable Tribe; Ironskins (Original, I know)
Fluff; Sargon has never been a particularly notable tyrant, content to rest in the shadow of Ghark, and lead his small sub-tribe. Besides making to the Maw, and living to tell about it, his only claim to fame is his unnatural lust for carnage, and unquenchable thirst for the grind of melee combat. His ambitions are small; eat till he drops, obliterate more foes than the next guy, and make violent and terrible war. Easily one of the most ruthless, dreaded and blood crazy tyrants Sargon has made a name for himself wading through lakes of gore, not winning great victories, killing legendary figures or conquering vast tracts of land. He aims to change this, find the crown and become the most feared, gore spattered tyrant this side of the Mountains of Mourn.

Tyrant: Demora the Buxom Tribe: The Broken Mountains Tribe, formerly the Mountain Reaches Tribe
Originally, the homeland of the Mountain Reaches tribe was in a place high in the Mountains of Mourn, near the Lake of Eyes. Although neither a dominant nor large tribe, their homeland offered them several advantages: The hunters of the tribe were second to none and frequently brought home a great supply of meat, their fortress was virtually unassailable and the Yhetees of the mountains were their constant allies. Unfortunately, security breeds stupidity and this was particularly noticeable in the last tyrant of the tribe, Grug Giantslayer, who was known for being belligerent. Constantly making trouble with his neighbors, he eventually threatened an ally of the Overtyrant himself, who then dispatched his own army to deal with the upstart Tyrant. The unassailable fortress fell and the tribe was driven from the Mountains of Mourn.
Unfortunately, the old tyrant had survived and though he was disgraced, the strongest bruisers had all died in the fighting. Fortunately, one night after tearing around the camp, belligerently threatening anyone that even dared glance in his direction, he turned and caught a giant rolling pen to the face. His head completely smashed, he collapsed to the ground dead. The owner of the pen was his Ogress, Demora. To avoid any pleasantries that might erupt from their children in the future, she killed and ate them and, with the tacit approval of the late Tyrant's Hunter/brother, she took control of the tribe. The tribe then became known as the Broken Mountains tribe. Although she officially took the name Demora the Buxom, she also referred to as Demora Kinslayer or Kineater although no one would voice these names to her. Accepting the exile of the Overtyrant, Demora had to find a new way to keep the tribe together on the plains of the Dark Land outside of the Overtyrant's reach. Besides the usual protection racket from the World's Edge Mountains to the Sentinels, Demora discovered that Giants were good money and they lived primarily on the plains. Brun, the primary hunter of the tribe, proved to be particularly adept at capturing Giants and they sold for good money to anyone that wanted them.... except High Elves, Lizardmen, Dwarves, Wood Elves and Bretonnians.
Their roll in the Nemesis Crown is the same roll they played out on the plains. Demora, although not entirely interested in the Nemesis Crown, is interested primarily in profit, whether it be through mercenary work or through selling giants, but if the Nemesis Crown did fall into her hands, she'd use it to lift their banishment and return to the tribes homeland. Anyone that gets into her way should be prepared for a short trip to the Ogre cook pot.
Kuzreg Tuskgutt10 Jul 2007
I only just discovered this thread, otherwise I'd have posted sooner! I know alot of people seem to have a similar theme to mine, however I would like to emphasize that this was a completely original idea, that I came up with over a year ago.
Tyrant: Kuzreg Tuskgutt the Beastslayer Tribe: The Beastslayer Tribe
Kuzreg was born to a Hunter of the Fleshwhipper* tribe. As a whelp, Kuzreg would go hunting with his father, and as he matured, he inherited the great dislike for beasts that all hunters have. What he did not inherit, however, was the hunter's traditional "Loner" attitude. On the contrary, Kuzreg possesed great leadership skills, and by his coming of age he had gathered to himself a small, but fatally loyal group of friends. Around that time, the tribe's tyrant, Lutker Fleshwhipper, had his hunters aquire him an immense, almost unstoppable chaos mammoth. It was extremely fierce, and had to be kept down with literally tonnes of chain. Kuzreg took an instant dislike to the beast, as did his father. Kuzreg's dislike turned to complete hatred when the thing sat on Kuzreg's favourite pet Gnoblar, "Bolt". In a fit of Black Rage, Kuzreg charged the thing, longsword in hand, bellowing madly. Though it should not have been possible, a colossal battle took place, and Kuzreg single-handedly slew the creature. Wrenching out two of its tusks, he whittles them down, fastened them to his gut plate, and took the name Tuskgutt. But Kuzreg was to pay for his actions. Enraged by such disobedience, Lutker threw Kuzreg out of the tribe, declaring him a traitor. Any who disagreed would see a similar fate. But then an amazing thing happened. A dozen huge, muscle bound ogres shoved their way out of the crowd. These were Kuzreg's closest friends, and they abandoned the Fleshwhipper tribe, instead following their friend. These ogres, or the surviving ones, are now Kuzregs most trusted generals, Bruisers, champions and his Irongut Bodyguard. So Kuzreg and his friends left, bellowing insults back at Lutker and swearing to return. Now, under the leadership of Kuzreg, they formed the Beastslayer tribe. They would rove the peaks of the Mountains of Mourn, hunting all sorts of beasts. These large kills meant there was an abundance of food, and many ogres flocked to the Tuskgutt's banner. The Beastslayer tribe grew strong, and numerous. Years later, Kuzreg and his tribe returned to face his former master. The Beastslayer Tribe attacked the Fleshwhipper tribe's camp, killing and devouring all in their path. But as he made his way to Lutker's tent, Kuzreg made a terrible discovery. As payment for his sons wrongs, Kuzreg's father had been murdered by Lutker. He was skewered on a massive pole, gorily on display for the whole tribe to see. His mighty hammer was still clenched in his hands. Taking the hammer from his fathers hands, Kuzreg swore to avenge his death. He found Lutker in his huge, luxurious tent, sitting atop a mighty Rhinox and desperately fending off Kuzreg's most loyal Ironguts. Bading them step aside, Kuzreg roared mightily and charged. Swinging the Hammer in a wide arc, Kuzreg smashed the beast from under Lutker, sending him sprawling. Walking grimly to him, Kuzreg pinned him to the ground with his foot. "Oh no, Please!" whined Lutker. "I'm sorry- I didn't mean it- please- just spare me!" "No." growled Kuzreg. "Sorry is not enough- even if it was sincere. Only blood can repay blood." With a mighty roar, Kuzreg stepped back, driving his longsword straight through Lutkers heart. With the Fleshwhipper tribe destroyed, and Lutker dead, Kuzreg took his full name- Kuzreg Tuskgutt the Beastslayer- and that it remains to this day.
*I'd just like to say that if a Fleshwhipper tribe does indeed exist, no offence whatsoever is meant to the Tribe or it's creator. I randomly came up with it and hope that it does not already exist by some freak chance.

Dragonmaw14 Jul 2007
Tyrant: Dragonmaw Kinkiller Tribe: Dragonmaw
Born into the Rockbreaker tribe, high up in the Mountains of Mourn, young Dragonmaw showed great promise even as a cub and left at a relatively young age to seek his fortune as a Maneater.
In his absence, the Tribe fell on hard times lost its heart, after Dragonmaw's father, Greybeard Rockbreaker, was killed trying to break the giant Trub'ldarold. Greybeard's kin were dispersed.
During this time, Dragonmaw operated as a Mercenary primarily throughout the shattered realm of Mousillon, forging quite a name for himself. Dragonmaw was a constant thorn in the side of the young Duc Mordaunt, who had been trying to wrest control of his realm from the powers of darkness. Mordaunt still bears the scars of single combat with the giant Ogre, who nearly peeled the skin from Mordaunt's skull during the struggle, and would have eaten the young Duc were it not for the intervention of the Duc's Hippogriff, Malrahvin.
The lone bodyguard of a trade caravan from Artois to Bordeleaux, Dragonmaw defeated the ambush of Orc Warlord Tunzagor Grargzbeller, killing (and one presumes eating) the entire raiding party, except Tunzagor himself, who escaped at the cost of one eye which he watched Dragonmaw swallow as he fled.
Hearing of his tribe's misfortune, the mighty Maneater Dragonmaw returned to his tribe, breaking Trub'ldarold and whipping his kin into line even as he earned himself the big name Kineater. He renamed them the Dragonmaw Tribe after himself, and all was good again...
Now, four armies converge on the ruined citadel of ancient Kambahtta - Dragonmaw, Tunzagor, Mordaunt, and Mordaunt's ally, Buliwf Hrothgarsson, King of Karak Izor. Legend has it that a powerful artefact lies buried beneath the citadel; one that may tip the scales in the hunt for The Nemesis Crown...
Skrenn24 Jul 2007
Well, I'd better sign up, an organisation is better than nothing. My treat, I'll make us all supplies!
Barren Hills region
Clan Bighearth, and its Tyrant, Skrenn. Piece of introductory background, if you fancy reading it...
Skrenn sat with his feet up against a small group of Gnoblars he was using as a footrest. A few squealed and bit eachother in a competition to support the Butcher's feet, but the Ogre was oblivious to the noise.
For, Skrenn was the beast of legend. Slaughtermaster of Bighearth tribe. The undying one. An old Ogre myth claimed that during the Second Great Migration, when the Ogres first reached the Firemouth, a young Skrenn found a helmet in the rubble of a previous magma flow. Upon looking at it, the mountain erupted yet again, catching none but the single Butcher in its rampage. A holy stream, it was later called, for it burnt out the entire upper half of his face, but left the lower half unscathed, stopping at his lips, so the Ogre was still able to glorify his God. Placing on the helmet to cover his features, he found it fitted him perfectly. Blessed against the maw's more damaging effects, and rendering him seemingly immortal, he and his tribe set up their tribe on the foothills of the Firemouth, merely a few miles from where the Great feast is now held.
In reality, most of this legend is untrue. THIS Skrenn is infact the 70th Skrenn in line. The head Butcher, Skrenn, when nearing death will summon the most prosperous apprentice to his hut, and blind, deafen and tear off the candidate's nose. The helmet is then transferred, and the candidate must learn to taste and 'see' with his tongue and mouth.
Naturally, only the Skrenn's know of this slight miscarriage of the truth. Even the members of Bighearth still believe they are seeing the original.
The current Tyrant of the tribe is one Strend Wallcrusher Bigmouth Hardnut Largegut Halfbrain. He accompanied his brother, the current Skrenn, on a pilgrimage to the maw. Apparentely pleased with his brother's devotion, and apparently seeing the Butcher's future, he gifted the would-be 70th in line with the ability to speak in the tongues of the other races, provided he consumed them. This was at the cost of a large portion of his brother's brain, turning the hulking mass into a drooling creature of muscle and bone.
This worked perfectly for the ambitious butcher. With a little help and a few favours, he elevated his brother to the position of Tyrant. Now, most are too scared to challenge the beast, and Skrenn, who has always puppeteered things, now rides at the forefront of his tribe, the leader mere bodyguard or formality.
Meanwhile.... Two bulls brought forward a screaming group of men. He hated the empire, but he needed the victuals. They always whined on so much. But, he was loved human cuisine. The butcher loooked strangely directly at the two men, despite his lack of eyes. "You are the head chefs of the area, no? Cook your area's delicacy. If it is sufficiently satisfying, we spare your village's lives. Fair deal?" The chef shook with fear. "Bulls! Give the man whatever he needs!" "Please!" The man screamed. "How do you speak like that? You sound like a Tilean! It's perfect!" "Well..." The Butcher grumbled. He hated giving away secrets to the thinlings. "Let's just say somebody's stew wasn't up to scratch, shall we?" He turned to a group of Ironguts flanking his girth. "Grab my implements. Just in case it isn't good enough. I'm seeing some parsley and sage. Or maybe some of Inds Cajun spices... What do you think? Come on, let's have a look. Oh, and to drink. I was thinking wine... Maybe a nice dark red wine... Or a Merlot..." The beast grinned with unnatural intelligence and headed off to the supply train...
