Hello. For those who didn't get the clue, this is indeed a Space Ork blog. I won't be using this one on any games, lest a fellow game in my region be interested in the gothic universe of 40k. I'll be painting (of course) some miniatures, convert (loot) imperial vehicles, and propably write a bit of fluff. This will be a side project alongside my Slaaneshi ogres, and as such, won't be updated that often
This might 'slow down' my OK project, if i get too strayed to the Greenskins. The idea struck me after seeing the ''wonders'' of /TG/, 4Chan. The general 'Orky Spirit' of the community just *MADE* me want to cobble up boyz for my Waagh!
(No preaching, thank you. I know i'm underaged for 4chan, but i just love the Traditional Games section. I know i shouldn't be anywhere near that place, but..

I won't be making any kind of 'list', but as i said, looted vehicles are definately going to be there. Mostly light vehicles (Sentinels, maybe even a Land Speeder), and possibly a land Raider (I have a CSM Land Raider gathering dust on my shelf, might aswell use it for something good, eh?)
I don't have any special ideas for the background yet. It'll develop into something, i promise

Something I always wanted to do for Space Orks, but never had the money or patience to do, was to create Orkish Chavs, Townies and Gangstas in order to take the mickey out of those who come into GW stores faking interest in order to take the mickey out of us. I was wondering if u would like to use this idea. Please!

You're talking about the stereotypical chavs in the UK? Sure, i might do something like that. But do note that i'm not going to make this too themed. I'll surely add some bling or different clothes to some boyz. Bottles of booze might get their way in, too

Maybe you could make them look chavish but stupid too, like say turn the grotz into chavz to make them insignificant

This sounds great, i'm looking forward to seeing some of your models. An Orky landspeeder is something i've always wanted to do, i'm sure it'll look good.

cool, is this our first 40K blog i nthe gnoblogs section? I'll be following this with interest. Space Orks were my first ever purchased, glued and painted minis and they'll always have a special place in my heart (although not until GW brings back the wonders of things like the Shokk attack gun will I find myself fielding an army of them currently!). I look forward to seeing an army built up purely as a modelling/painting/display excersise! If you never intend to play withthe army, will you also be making units that aren't nescessarily in the codex? If so then surely the Shokk Attack Gun needs to be given some love

And burberry is really the way to go.

Just to be sure.. Burberry can mean any kind of clothes/bags etc. with this texture, right?

The minis in the solo shots represent my 'special characters'. They're basically veterans. I'll write some fluff with them starring, but i also have the normal 'grunt' orks.
I've assembled 16 orks in total (Only a half of them are in the pic).  The list goes like this:
1 Stikk-bomba
1 Burna (Flame-thrower)
2 Heavy Shootas (a heavier version of the Shoota)
5 Shootas (The basic Ork slug-throwing weapon)
5 Sluggas (Armed with an Ork pistol and a close combat weapon)
1 Ork equipped with 2 Choppas (axes)
1 Ork equipped with 2 Sluggas

I'll propably get around painting the boyz tomorrow.

Doze boyz luuk ded 'ard!  I really like the burna conversion, I guess you need to get creative with so many out of date models out there.  Good luck and I can't wait to see this WAAAGH!!! expand

1.why dont you directly post the pics to make itm easier for people.
2. the burna looks amazing but if he's shooting a flame why is it going upwards?

Heh, actually, he isn't firing the flamethrower at the moment. The gas nozzle isn't open at the moment, so the stream of flammable liquid/gas isn't propelling out.

three-cylinder system often has two outer cylinders of flammable liquid and a central cylinder of propellant gas to improve the balance. The gas propels the fuel liquid out of the cylinder into and through a flexible pipe and then into the gun element of the flamethrower system. The gun consists of a small reservoir, a spring-loaded valve, and an ignition system; depressing a trigger opens the valve, allowing pressurized flammable liquid to flow and pass over the igniter and out the gun nozzle. The igniter can be one of several ignition systems; a simple type is an electrically-heated wire coil, another used a small pilot flame, fueled with pressurized gas from the system.

The flame is a part of the igniter, which sets the fuel on fire. (In the picture, the igniter is built inside the flame-thrower itself.)

Now that you mentioned the flame, it looks a bit big.. i might end up clipping (or chopping) it up a bit..

As said in the last two posts above, your burna conversion is great. I realy like alot of the other conversions on your other orcs too.

I'm quite happy with this chap. The pattern on his shoulder-pad is supposed to be black/white, but the white has a slight tinge of green in it.. hmm.. Maybe i should change my water more often

I like the discoloured tinge to the white. I think it's more in keeping with the yellow on the chainsword and other orkey paraphanalia. The skin tones really ncie too.

I hate my camera. The highlights some 3 Boyz in the left aren't even visible, but i assure you, they are there!
The Burna's face isn't actually done yet, i'll have to get him a pair of goggles.. any suggestions what to make them from?

Looking great. For goggles, you could get some brass rod and cut two lengths of it. Filled to he right depth, these work great as goggles.

I picked up a box of the new Black orcs today. They will make some fine 'Ardboyz for the growing WAAAAGH!
I also bought the Foundation paint set. Haven't got to try them much, but i did paint a vest with Dheneb Stone, and fell in love with the stuff.
Oh, did i already mention looting?

I've stripped the old lady from it's spiky bitz, as well as some doors. I'll get working on it some day

after chaos in fantasy orks are my second love! I used to collect them and had a massive 10k point army.When the armageddon campaign thing was on i bought the £100 army deal 3 times lol im defo going to collect orks again and i love your models!! have you heard all the new rumours about the re release of orks?

Re-release? I have heard about the codex updating, and possibly some new 'wheels', but a re-release?

well supposedly theres going to be
new plastic warboss (comes with ALL wargear options)
plastic nobz
plastic killa kans
new vehicle sprues
a stompa 
new plastic battlewagon
new plastic ork boys (come with all heavy weapon options and possible nob)
these are all rumoured to have been mentioned by gav thorpe (i think) at this years gamesday

Wow. That definately sounds great o_o I can imagine the cost of the Stompa, though.


Notice that all the orky bitz are connected with blu-tac, so they aren't final yet. I'll be replacing the heavy bolters with something more suitable for Orks, and the Lascannons might be replaced by Zzzappas or something similar. Holes, Orky plasticard glyphs, slates of metal hammered into the hull. More later



Some WIP 'Ardboyz. I missed one of the Boyz in the pic, one with a ''Bionik'' (Well, a shoota welded into his arm-stump.)

apparently the stompa wont be much more than a landraider :s theres also rumours of 3 new baneblades.....
there going to supposedly be a huge campaign for 40k next year where a load of new models will be released and alot of them will be large kits(sm drop pods,baneblades stompas etc)

thats the thread but i warn you its long and its all about the new book "codex apocalypse" which will apparently be the biggest expansion to 40k so far i also had a quick scan and theres going to be 3  new baneblades!! they should be £60 each so imagine the stompa would be the same

Haven't got around painting any yet. I still have half of my Boyz waiting for a primer (I'm too lazy for hand-priming them, i lose my interest and slap the paint on. With the expected results )
i've been converting some more 'Ardboyz, with more Bionik arms (Well, some old Obliterator arms slapped on. Also some old Chaos Space Marine bitz. But i'm torn. I have no idea how to build a shield generator. basically something like on this one, but i'm using a banner pole for it (Carried by a 'Ardboy)

Any suggestions?

Also, pictures ASAP. My mother is going on a trip to Russia today, and i can't get my hands on the camera during that time

Out of the batch of 19, 3 are painted (so far.)
I first thought of painting the armour blue, with some metallic gubbinz slapped on to keep the bullets outside.. it didn't work out that well. Baby-blue armor just doesn't suit an ork. It never would  :biggrin

Awesome to the seventh power.  These guys are just great, I love orks!  The 'ard boys are really good and the sneaky git is probably my favorite.  Nice work, can't wait to see the finished tide of green choppiness!

awesome! The black orc parts work very wel with the 40K gubbinz and the kustom force field blaster is amazing. I really like the touches of blue on them, it reminds me of the deathskulls

Hmm... Seems like i took the picture a bit too close. Well, at least the back rows are in focus
You might notice the Burna's absense. I personally didn't like it, as it looked so rushed. I swapped his 'ead and arms for something choppier. A shoota boy got his flash an extra long barrel.
