Spring Paint-a-thon: Finish June 4th!

Edit by Jestor - I split this topic up as there wasn't alot of people joining into the fun.  I hope that you all realize this is now a new challenge and add in some of your goals and use this to drive yourself to paint!  Don't forget to share with the class!

Congrats Wildcard! You got very close to finishing your goals.

I'm glad that so many people joined in on this. This isn't a competition, and there isn't some sort of penalty for not getting stuff done  . I hope that this might be helping some of us get motivated about our projects.

I think this should keep going on, either in a new thread or this one (I say just keep the same thread). Keep the promises you made earlier, or start all over again.

The next paint-a-thon "deadline" will be June 4th. Get to it!

I'll be keeping my same vows. On a completely unrelated note, I set the March 4th deadline cause it's my birthday  .

sounds like a good idea so here's my new goals:

3 bull rhinox riders (guess I'd better get them done!)
1 shaggoth
16 trappers
4 leadbelchers
1000-1500 points of skaven (I'll keep this one flexible as I'm not sure what to take, or how far in any direction i want to go with this yet)
2 irongut standard bearers
6 bulls

I like to keep things ambtious!

the shaggoth will be first up - as I've got a promise to keep with that one.

Grats Wildcard as I do believe you were the closest to goal.  I missed my goal abysmally but *shrug* so it goes.  Other then a super secret stronghold project I am working on here's my list by the 4th of June -

Finish out the models from my previous post (some touch ups, face work, etc)

It may look like alot of models to start with but I have a good feeling this time around about getting them done (as my mercenary force and not being able to goto Templecon thwarted my last attempt).  Rugby season starts this upcoming weekend so we will see if I am physicaly able to paint in a couple weeks

My name is Beaker and I've been lurking on the forums for a while. I've decided to finally throw my hat into the ring and commit to painting my ogre army. They are going to have a pirate theme.

This is my army for the paint-a-thon:

1 unit of 8 Bulls

1 unit of 4 Leadbelchers.

1 Tyrant using the pirate maneater.

1 converted butcher

and hopefully .... 1 scratch-built scrap launcher (should that be scrap-built?)

Not a huge amount but hopefully achievable before June.

okay, I've evolved my commitments to include

Fantasy:
-8 Trappers
-2 maneaters
-Sculpt and paint 3 yhetees
-Sculpt new Tyrant
-Make Lord of Change
-sculpt and paint 5 marauder horsmen
-convert and paint 9 chaos knights
-Sculpt and paint chaos general
-Convert and paint 3 screamers of Tzeentch
-Build and paint new BSB

40K
-15 Fallen Angel Marines
-15 Fallen Angel Havocks
-10 Flln Angel raptors
-30 Chaos Cultists/imperial guard


Progress so far:
Converted horsemen and almost painted the unit. Begun painting first five man unit of Fallen Angels

I've added this to the events calendar.

I'm taking a short break on my major painting commitments at the mo - till about April 21st and the release of the foundation paints!

I so nearly went that way, and 3 coats of khommando khaki later on my Fallen Angels I'm starting to think maybe I should have waited!

By June 4th, I'll finish:

-My Slaughtermaster (40% completed)
-Three Ironguts (10% completed)
-[EDIT] Nine Twelve Bulls (0% complete)
-Three Maneaters (25% completed)

I'll have done(hopefully)

-my bruiser(from bull)
-my bsb(from bull)
-30 night goblins
-3 bulls with additional hand weapons
-10 orc boyz

I'll enter aswell since there's a tourney on June 10th:)

Things to do:
- Convert 4 Ironguts
- Finish one regiment of 4 Bulls
- Paint three standard bearers
- Paint band names on a unit that I'd totally forgotten.
- Paint the hands of Ozzy and Mad Butcher (I forget some things during painting )
- Paint a Hunter and get some groupies/zombies/something (sabretusks) for him.
 
If there's time:
- 3 Yhetees
- 1 Scraplauncha

... that's it I think

           The 40k peeps i need to finish
            a few ogres (starting an army)
            my GD 07 project (youngbloods)
            and maybe a character or two...
Hope fully get them finished after my exams... get my ogres under way. As i scavenged a box of 30 gnoblars last year, hence the GW staff now call me scavvy.
