Ogre eyes?

original thread ↗

Hello all

I'm starting my first Warhammer Army...I have picked Ogre kindoms. I'm painting my first box of Bulls now and i can't seem to recognize what the eyes include.....from what i can tell Ogre eyes are really really small. Can anyone help me with this? maybe with a good picture of a well painted ogre face.

Thanks,
Guncon
Use the force Guncon, let yourself go. Actually, a nice color for eyes that turn out well is cameo green.
Who will be the next Khan in the Ogre Kingdoms?
Try lightly going over the eye area with Skull white this will help define the eye then go over the eye again with a heavyer layer then dot the pupil. and touch up around the eye where the light white over lapped. Thats how I do it and it works pretty well. Hope this helps.
cameo green.

A colour that has appeared on many models, although only briefly on each. Often it's a pleasant surprise to see it. Sometimes it goes uncredited.

Seriously, I think that's a much better name than the real one. Typos are the best!
i just do the common white wit black spot...

I think he meant that he doesn't know where they are on the face, it's true they're pretty small.  Most of them have a big lower eyelid and the eye is normally quite thin, so look between the eyelids and that's where it is.  By the way I do black, then two white dots for mine.
Look, another lame sig!
Yeah thats what i meant Borgol...thanks for all the import everyone it has helped.....sadly, the eyes are too small for me to try pupils.
I actually dont bother with the eyes, because of the highlighting process it makes some of them look like their either squinting or are oriental, and because my models for my army are based on the fluff that they have all been mercenarys, hired body guards or even fought with foriegn armys

actually with my hunter i went with just a solid showdow fox grey and i definitly like the results.

I find ogre eyes are some of the easier eyes to pick out, and actually very satisfying to paint.  I do mine just straight-up white, makes for a nice 'dead eye' look.  Sometimes I've gotten confused by the lower lid and had to touch that back to skin color, but the eyes are big enough for me to nab, which is impressively large I suppose :x

You do realize this thread is a year old right? You might want to refrain from ressurecting dead threads as it clogs up the first page.

They cant stop us let 'em try, For heavy metal we will die.

I always think just the standard white and black look best for ogre eyes.

Paint the eye black, then with your finest brush, paint a dot in each corner of the eye.  So it should look like this = (wBw) .

To make the ogre look down, put a dot of white above the black, to make the ogre look up, put a dot of white below the black.  To make the ogre stare, puts a small dot of white above and below.

Hope it helps...

thanks!
