So I was trying to think of a way to make my Khorne ogres look more chaosy, so I thought a simple weapon swap would help alot. It would've been nice if the plastic chaos warriors had great weapons, but alas, they do not. So looking through the ol' catalog the first thing that grabbed my attention were khorngor axes. They, of course, turned out to be one piece models. I then came across bloodletters, which not only have separate weapons, but they don't all have khorne symbols on them, so they'd be great for any chaos conversion.
The process ended up being a lot more involved than I had planned, so I thought I'd share how I did it.
1) Get your tools and materials together. I used a jewler's saw, a pin vice, a sprue clipper, a wire clipper, wire, super glue, and my bitz.

2) Cut them like so, using the saw for the metal, and the sprue clipper for the plastic (be sure that the flat side of the clipper is against the piece you'll keep.)

Remove what you don't need, so you end up with this.

3) Now for the fun part, if you don't want this thing falling apart every time you handle it, you need to pin it. This step can be quite dangerous if you're not careful. Don't be tempted to use a power tool, not only could you put a hole in your finger, there isn't a whole lot of metal to work with, a slight miscalculation could screw things up bigtime. The holes don't have to be too deep, an eighth to a quarter of an inch is plenty for pinning, though I drill right through the fist cause it's plastic. This is what it ought to look like.

As a side note, cutting and drilling metal is a lot easier with a little lubrication, I use beeswax, i just rub a little on the blade or bit before I use it.
4) Cut your wire. I cut it long and then trim it down once one end is glued in, like so.

I then fit and trim the pins.

5) Assemble it. First, I glue the two halves together and let them set up.

And then I finish it.

And now you have a nice chaosy hand weapon (or two) for your ogre.

I hope you found this useful! Just a little glimpse into the (anal-retentive) way I do things
