Be warned! What follows will not be to many people's liking, especially those what think that Orcs should only be green of colour.
'Tis an assembly of me Savage Orcs, which will form part of the Orc Army I'm building with me classic minis of 4th edition. The army is seperated into 3 tribes, one being dominated by Savage Orcs and some Forest Goblin Slaves, the other will be a Infantry Horde led by a mean Black Orc and the last is based on the Skullpass Nightgobbos.
The purple skin colour was originally me lady's idea who painted 10 Savage Orc Arrers fer me years ago. When I picked up the new O&G army book, I wanted t' continue that theme.
This is the first mob, 15 Savage Big Ones made from dismounted Boar Boyz and olde plastic Black Orcs which bear a striking likeness to Blizzard'S Warcraft Orc Grunts...
Mayhap some of ye Slaanesh servin' Ogres 'll like 'em. And I forgot t' mention that me lady will be shanghai'd into giving 'em proper warpaint...

they're not to my liking. they should be green. how could you even consider anything else? things should only be painted like they appear in the army book!!
Seriously though, they look great. I think the skin tone works really well, and an army of these guys would be very striking, I've always thought about doing greenskins in a differant colour (lets face it, probably blue!). They could do with basing to really set them off though
thanks Corai

Hurhurhur, that was a good one! Cheers, Corai!
Wait 'til I takes some pics of me lady's original Savage Arrer Boyz, their warpaint/tatoos are amazing (and cover up the fact that she didn't use highlighting back then, hurhurhur).
If I finds the time I could turn this into a Gnoblog of some sort...

purple orcs, that's a good one! I like the scheme, and I would like 'em even more, if they were based.
Do a gnoblog!!!

They look fine to me. It is after all, a fantasy game. My only complaint is why didnt you finish the bases first!? Now you have all that tedious work ahead of you, tisk tisk, tisk. They do look good though.

Heresy. Orcs that ain't green make my stomach do weird things. They are painted well, and the skin looks good, but I'm a greenie through and through. They're just not to my liking, despite the fact that they are well painted.

I like the way your orcs look. They are cool looking and unique. Making armies look the same is a stupid idea IMO.
Captn Morgrim19 Feb 2007
Well, thank ye all fer the replies, even ye, Reg06... If I e'er catch ye painting Ogres in other skintones than the official grey ye 're up fer a short walk on the plank, hurhurhurhur!
Now, these Orcs aren't finished yet. I 'll have t' shanghai me lady into painting some warpaint on 'em and do their shields before I get on with basing.

purple orcs!
If only Ogres had Psychokinesis.

The possibilities are endless.

Finally, more Savage Orks!
I 'ave some friends what like playing WHFB, but don't have an army, while others often don't 'ave their minis at hand, when we fancies playing a game. These Savage Orcs will be one of those armies fer those occassions.
This 1000 pts army now only lacks a single mini t' be complete.
'Ere comes the Boss! Ardskulaz the Obese, Lionflayer, mounted on the Legendary Tigerboar of the South
Boarboyz
Swamp Trolls (a different breed of Rivertrolls...)

I like the tiger boar. the swamp trolls as well are amazing, the choice of colours really conveys the theme. Having a spare army gfor opponents is a great idea. So which model is missing? Have you thought how yo'll base them yet?
thanks Corai

Cheers, Corai!
Well, so far, me olde Savage Arrers which me lady painted years ago have bases similar t' me Ogres and DoW, but methinks I might re-do 'em fer something more jungle-like or even turn 'em into Swamp Dwellers, what with 'Em Swamp Trolls in their army...

Those Trolls are awesome, but I think the pinnacle has to be the Tiger-Boar. That is a very effective paintjob! PS-Purple Orcs ROCK!
2 Pet Gnoblars! I dub them Itchy and Scratchy, for reasons that are too private to divulge.
Captn Morgrim08 May 2007
Cheers, mateys!
The missing mini is the Boarboyz' Boss which can double as a second Bigboss if need be. He 's half done, but I 'm not sure on the fur colour fer 'is boar. Methinks a plain black boar 'd be fine, but then I may have caught some addiction t' stripeyness, as I 'm considerin' t' give the regular boars some decent stripes as well.
I 'll 'ave t' press me lady into painting the extras on me Savage Orcs like them trinkets and the warpaint before I 'll take pics of the entirely finished army first... Alas, I might take some pics of the Arrers she painted years ago t' see what I means.
All in all, even tho' it be but one Orc left, I neglected this project t' continue on me Ogre Crew, in honour the alliance between the Stronghold and the Brewery. There 'll be an update of 'em soon, mateys!

Well, what follows now be the original 10 Savage Orc Arrers me lady painted a few years ago. After ye 've seen those, ye 'll agree that the rest still needs some work. Currently, the army is being bas'd and all 'em new Orcs get some warpaint paint'd on. They 're presentable, but a full army shot will follow when we're done with 'em
And this fellow is the Shaman who's supposed t' stand out of the crowd there...
Cheers!

The white warpaint really goes ell with the purple skin. Not too sure about the red feet on the standard though
I'll look forward to the whole army shot
thnaks Corai
