I have just begun in earnest, my OK Tribe. I already have my Tyrant done along with 2 butchers and a unit of 4 Bulls.
The theme of my army is a tribe that was stranded in the southlands, possibly the dragon isles? and has just found "civilization" again.
all of the ogres in the army have the old round lizardman shields for gut plates and are painted in dark flesh skin tones, with white war paint that resembles bones.
I will hopefully in the next few days, post some pics of the painted models I have.
I do however wish for something from the lot of you. I need some ideas for a tribe name. I was thinking about the dragon eaters (ogres aren't that smart and one big lizard is the same as the rest,) anybody have any ideas?

I'm most happy at the end of the game when there are lots of little plastic men in the dead pile, and there are hundreds of tiny plastic widows and plastic orphans mourning them back in plastic land.

How about the Scalehides? Comes from their habit of wearing lizardman skins as armour. Things that would help make ur army look more jungley would be to have a Stegadon pulling a Scraplauncher instead of a Rhinox, use Skinks or Jungle Swarm models instead of Gnoblar ones, have ur Leadbelchers using Salamanders instead of cannons and replace a Hunter's Sabretusk models with Cold Ones or Horned Ones. For extra Lizardman participation, u could use Tichi Huichi and his Horned-One riding Skinks.
2 Pet Gnoblars! I dub them Itchy and Scratchy, for reasons that are too private to divulge.

thanks Corai

well as for the comments,
I am planning on using the old salamanders as sabertuskswhen I do get my hunters. I just purchased Skrag so he is going to get the treatment also.
The idea I'm most proud of is the bangstick I came up with. It is the smaller of the 2 standards from the cold one rider sprues set on the butchers shoulder like a bazooka. all you have to do is cut the hammer from the one hand (leave the bottom) and rotate the arm up a bit.
And yes they are the 5th ed. shields. The fit very well. I paint my gold so they contrast nicely with the dark flesh skin tones.
I haven't gone too crazy with the lizard stuff, just a little here and there. one butcher has the top half of a metal cold one head (DE special character I think) on his head as a headdress of sorts. one has a small icon from the COR sprue on his head (I use him as skull mantle) and the bangstick one.
My tyrant has lord kroaks mask as a gut plate (with some chainmail underneath) and I sculpted a head for him to add the mask from the orc shaman. I also made a giant cleaver in his right hand and added two of the tied halflings to his left hand (fistfull of halflings Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to get some pics up.

Oh yeah,
forgot to mention that I just ordered my gnoblars. They are actually going to be forest goblin spider riders from the BFSP box. I got 60 of em for $48 on Battlewagon bits. I'm going to base each rider on a 20mm base and possibly (if I feel inspired enough) remove their shields and add marquis shaped shields in their place, kind of like African Zulu warriors.
Now all I need is a use for 60 wolf sized spiders.

Looking forward to seeing those Gnoblars. As for those Spiders, I have two ideas: 1) U could use the heads as decoration for Standards and 2) If u bulk them out a bit with greenstuff, u could use them as Yhetees.
2 Pet Gnoblars! I dub them Itchy and Scratchy, for reasons that are too private to divulge.
Corai17 Feb 2007
I think it would require quite a stretch if the imagination to get the BfSP to pass as yhetees. They could make great decoratio nthough, or parts for some 'gnoblar riders' (see house rules) conversions. Or even as some dogs of war fast cavalry
thanks Corai

Wow,
It's been awhile, real life has intervened and I have'ntbeen able to get much modeling done. I have finished painting my three butchers and my 4 gorgers (if I never have to paint a bone again it will be too soon. LOL)
I also have gotten the digital camera fixed so the pictures will be coming very soon.
BTW, the spiders are going to be BOC hounds in my beasts of the spider forest army. I think I'm going to use Khazrak One-eye as the general.

My new title should be the Necromancer. Life has a funny way of going around in circles. I have a bunch of pictures of my Ogres that I'd like to share with all of you. If anyone appreciates a good gut, it is the fine followers of the Maw.
First up, my Tyrant:

Thank you for the comments. The tyrant was the first idea I had for the army. I knew I wanted the whole witch doctor feel for him and the mask was begging to be used. I had to sculpt a head for it to fit right. Luckily, I live near a gaming store that has large bits trading and buying services, that's where all thelizard bits have come from as well as the tied halfings. I will try to get a full army shot soon.

After all, painting 100 night goblins is something you do in the morning just before you are off to work.
And I think you missed a 0 when you wrote 11 armies. The correct nr should be 110 armies I would think, based on your painting speed.
