Hey ive just got the battalian for my b'day and am assembling the models. have already painted tyrant, maneater (my own conversion) and a couple of bulls, so i know my colour scheme.
What i dont kno, however, is how to paint my gnoblars. According to official backround, the lighter the goblynoid, the lighter the skin, so technically gnoblars should be quite light. I however, would much rather have them darker. What does everybody think? is this acceptable?
The other question is, what exact colours. I was thinking either Dark Angels green highlighted w/ goblin green, or goblin green washed with dark green ink. What do you think of these two/which do you like better/can u suggest any other methods? With the number of models i'll be painting though i'd like it to be relatively simple.
Thanx heeps,
Kuzreg

The colours you choose to paint your gnobs are your prerogative. You can paint them pink if you wish.
That said, Dark Angels green and Goblin Green are both quite 'bright' colours. You will end up with models that look 'high fantasy', rather than grungy and realistic. This is actually a look I'm quite partial to, but you should be aware of this. If you want them to look a bit more weathered, I'd go Catachan green with a wash, or summat.

Corai's are blue, and I will probably make mine a mid brown color instead of the common grey/green..
@Wildcard.. those look like they came from that old game lemmings.. complete with the umbrella choice you could turn them into

that's right! Lemming gnoblars! (or lemgnobs for short). I've done "floater", "builder" and "blocker" versions for the units - here are the solos:
frankly, I needed to have some fun idea to get me to paint 50 of the damn things!

I did my gnobbos Dark Angels Green with Gobbo Green Highlights!
They look quite grungy if done well and mine are meant to represent slaves on a ship or deck hands. Simply brown inking earthy coloured rags will make them look grungyier. I haven't painted my gnoblars well compared to the rest of the army. Only front rankers get the privelige of sandals! I found the belts pointless as well because not many could easily the belts or even care. A basic look is good enough. Gnoblars will end up in the dead box quite quickly so they aren't especially worth all the time and effort for painting. If you want to win awards or make your army look fantastic then go the extra mile, but I personally don't find it worth it.

those lemming ones are pretty sweet! really good idea!

Wildcard's lemming sare just awesome, I loved them in the humour competition we ran a few monmths abck and they satill make me crack a smile. As mentione dabove, I painted mine blue, but you can do them any colour you want. For darker green skin I'd recommend dark anbgles green base highlighted with catachan green and a slight drop of khommando khaki for the final highlight
Thanks Corai

Those Gnoblars are exemplary.
2 Pet Gnoblars! I dub them Itchy and Scratchy, for reasons that are too private to divulge.
