The Return to Cannibal Bay: Ogre Pirates (Update: Scratchbuilt Ironblaster)

Really I pressive stuff here. The sculpting work is fantastic. The lookout gnob is one of my favorites too. Well done.

Thanks, Twon! I 'd have liked to get them all painted (them all = the Ironblaster, the LookOutSparrow, the converted DivingGuts and the Ogerettes) 'til this saturday, as I have a game of 2250 pts scheduled. But with my workschedule being rather tight as well as other interests, I didn't make as much progress as I had hoped this month.

The most progress I made was 2 minis I haven't mentioned yet. While I was sculpting me Ogerettes, I had  2 more Leadbelchers in the works to build a big unit of 6 or 2 units of 3 (port and starboard broadsiders).





I still got 2 more Ogre bodies and Leadbelcher pieces to match, but I 'm somewhat stuck on what to do with them. Any suggestions?

So far, I got (not counting the Gorger, 'tusks, warmachines and Gnoblar substitutes):
9 classic Ogres making up my Core Unit(s) - either as a big Irongut unit or one unit of 'guts and one of Bulls
4 more Ironguts (the Ogre Divers I built out of those olde At-43 Space Apes)
5 largely self-made Man-Eaters (6 with the Ogerette)
6 Leadies.

Thanks, Gentlemen, there's another update round the bent. I managed to finish my Ogre Divers and I 'm thinking of building more of them. Alas, I lack the bits for more conversions and those At-43 Apes are OOP. Guess I 'll do something unexpected and use regular Ogre Bodies instead.

Finally a short update for this old blogge. I was lacking a beast to drag the big scratchbuilt Ironblaster around, so I toyed with a few ideas how to add a suitably large creature that wouldn't look all too out of place. Ironically, with the blaster being a cheap version (all scratchbuilt), I fell back to buy a box of Minotaurs and convert 2 of them into large Ogres. So much for cheap!

Aye, Tiny the Gunner counts as a Rhinox statswise.
