Ogre Pirates

 I have recently started converting my Ogres into Pirates. Although the process is quite easy for the ordinary bulls (eye-patches, peg-legs, "pirate" hats etc) I am completely stuck with the Ironguts. I thought about swaping their weapons with anchors and painting them in bright colours but thats about it. Anyone has any ideas or pictures that I could use as inspiration?

Also please mind that I am not very good with Green stuff :pirate:

swapping weapons with Pieces of mast or anchors (or even swivel guns used as clubs) would work really well. I'd also suggest, you take the pirate conversions you've done on your bulls and dial them up a notch - go for more peg legs and hooks, more eyepatches, more pirate hats or bandanas or stripey T-shirts etc

Just do what your doing but give them a waist coat and lots of chain to represent Heavy Armour. Also more tats as they are the vets.

Do you think that I should use the armoured heads from the Ironguts sprue or something different? Has anyone seen any good tutorial on GS sculpting? (clothes in particular?)

hmm, armoured heads is realy your call. I'd lean towards it as these guys are in heavy armour so that could help convey that, but you might get a more themed look byt dressing up some unarmoured heads

I would give them bandanas and such rather than armoured heads.

I thought about bandanas but my bulls have them already and I need something extra to make them stand out....maybe I should overdo it!

Use the crow from the Giant set as base, then sculpt a new beak and longer tailfeathers.. that should make a nice parrot!

One of the gnoblars has a long beak so use him as the parrot. I would give the IG hats but not as big as the Tyrants (After all size does matter) Also watch Pirate of teh carribean afew dozen times to get more ideas. Good luck.

I like your ideas and we could share them. I too had never used GS when I started to convert. Look at my siggy for more ideas and advice.

Waistcoats 'd look good indeed. I did some fer me Leadbelchers in me army. Got a Gnoblog about 'em as well, matey, so ye can have a look there. As fer weapons, how about swapping their weapons for grappling hooks on lengths on chain? Another option are as Corai said Masts or even a bit of a gunwhale. Another option 'd be an Irongut that clobbers with another person...
