Another fluff story, because in my old story, the daemon had a big roll and, well he's gone out of my list.
The dew was still in the grass, when Wilhelm walked through the citys main gate.
One mile in every direction from the city was a small tower which was manned by two soldiers at all time to warn the city of oncoming dangers and threads.
Wilhelm said to himself that it would be another boring day on the job on the tower.
He just hoped Johann was entertaining enough to get through their shift fast.
Johann ran out of his house half dressed and he saw Wilhelm already walking halfway to the tower.
The sergeant will kill me if Im late on the first day he said to himself.
Buttoning his shirt while running he breathed heavily when he caught up with Wilhelm.
s gonna be a nice day isnt it? Johann asked.
Wilhelm grumbled something unrecognisable thinking about the long day ahead.
Its my first day and I hope were going to see some beasts, so we can fight Johann went on in his enthusiasm.
Wilhelm looked Johann in the eyes and replied :You better hope this will be a dull and boring shift, because that will keep you alive
They entered the tower and greeted the men who were readying themselves to go home.
After they sat down Wilhelm said he was going to take a nap and Johann can wake him around noon.
Around ten Johann was shouting franticly and pointing to the north.
Wilhelm woke up and jumped to his feet WHAT? .
He stared in the direction Johann was pointing at and started trembling.
Wilhelm said Go and ring the bell, this is a priority one alarm with the tremble still in his voice.
Gharknar grinned when he heard the bell: Now they know
We are going to have a real fight I hope, let the skulls you take be many and the blood you flow warm
His man shouted as one: BLOOD FOR THE BLOODGOD.
Then the ground started to tremble as the horses made pace.
The flying daemons were going over their heads and charged the tower shutting up the bell.
With less then a mile to go the impressive gates of Spikeheim were closed and men of the empire were aligning them selves on the city wall with their guns and crossbows.
One man whispered: Giant and pointed his crossbow towards the big monster.
He fired, but the bolt flew wide and missed his target by a mile.
Then the giant took one swing at the gate and the doors swung open crushing the men still standing behind them.
Blood flowed and skulls were taken that day.
