2007 WHFB Campaign!

original thread ↗

The Rise of Kingodm event in Arpil will be a prelude to the Summer campaign like Dark Stars was with the M5 campaing last year

the hunt for the Crown will be centre around Karak Eight peeks

Any one going to RoK?  either in the main camoaign or as part of the Mordheim campaign running alongside it ?
Maybe the new character in store for the ogres is a new and re-revised version of Golgfag and his Ogres. After all, he is mentioned in the army book and is still available from direct. His rules are rather shady/beardy/expensive at the moment, however.
i think that ogres and dogs of war will be kind of like witch hunters and daemonhunters in medusa v, they fight for other people, i hope this isn't the case, i'd like it to be something to do with the chaos ogre migration, but games workshop probably won't want to change the face of the ogres through the campaign.

I received the March White Dwarf this past week and it includes a little more information on the campaign.  According to WD, the Nemesis Crown was hidden by Alaric the Mad in "the Great Forest", which I assume is the "Great Forest" that is located in the Empire.  (In fact, the "Warhammer Campaign" introduced in this issue starts out with a Dwarf expedition to some lost mines in the "Great Forest", so I would assume that is what is referenced about the Nemesis Crown.)

Apparently, a "great earthquake" opened the hiding place of the crown, and it was subsequently found by a group of Dwarf miners.  The "malignant energies" of the Nemesis crown kills all but one, who then starts the rumours that spread around the Warhammer world.  The empire, orcs, and dwarves are all specifically mentioned in the short article.  It also provides more general references to "creatures good and evil" that are "further afield" that start planning and scheming to claim the crown.  Although "tyrants" do get a specific reference in the article.

The article mentions that a "supporting website" will be set up for the campaign.  Also, there is mention of a supplement that would come with White Dwarf this spring that would include the "full story of the Nemesis Crown" as well as other things described only as "interesting".

The article also states that we should expect "plenty of new and exciting models", and that would include "several plastic Warhammer kits".

Sounds like some interesting things are in the pipeline for this summer!
I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. There is supposed to be a soecial character per race. However it will include a release of models such as Gorbad and Karl Franz rather than brand new stuff. Expect the Elves to have a big place as their book will be out just before. The new plastic kits will be updates of older metal models such as Hammerers and Black Orcs. These rumours are unconfirmed.
What is confirmed is a massive release for Chaos. New plastics for both Warhammer and 40k. It will include power specific sprues sold in blisters seemingly and plastic knights!

Area of concerne for the Campaign is in did "The Great forest" within the empire. For what I can see in the April WD CAN, the location within the campaign where battle will be disputed are:

1) The Draken Downs
2) The Drakwald Deeps
3) The reik's March
4) The Howling Heights
5) The Rauberdale
6) The Great Confluence
7) The Talabec Border
8) The Barren Hills
9) The Taalford Lowlands
