500 points fun battle: no rules of composition. What would you pick?

original thread ↗

This summer I'm organising a small tournament with friends. Next to quite normal battles (8th) and a triumph & treachery, I also decided to make a fun battle.

Which means 500 point no restrictions, except it must be from one army source. So for me, it could be 250 gnoblars, 2 stonehorns or just a big bad geared up tyrant with a few sabretusks and anything in between. (yes 100 point item max still counts on a character). Last man standing wins.

What would you pick?

"We're not playing anymore because where getting older, we're getting older because we don't play anymore." And that's why I still play (from Warhammer, to RPG's and board games)
How about a Hunter on Stonehorn, with Harpoon Launcher and Shield of Ptolos, supported by 24 Gnoblar Trappers...
It's even fluffy.
Or swap the Shield of Ptolos for Gamber's Armor and Ironfist to give him a 3+ AS and parry.
I would personally try out a Slaughtermaster with as many ogres or ironguts as I can fit. Always wanted to see if an Ogre deathstar could win a 500 point competition.
Greasus Goldtooth is unworthy of bearing the title of Overtyrant. First he bent the scared rules of the Pit then he proclaimed that he is too rich to even walk! He is no ogre! Greasus is a weak, treacherous gnoblar that usurped his master’s throne! - Nazzaarth Icebreaker

Protect like Khorne. Cling like Nurgle. Guide like Tzeentch. Love like Slaanesh.
I'm bigger than you & higher on the food chain. Get in my belly!!!
Gnoblar wall 50+ followed up with iron blasters. And a hero/ tyrant in the middle.
Interesting. If I get enough gnoblars maybe I'll try that list composition.

Thanks for the inspiration, all souds fun! And I'm really curious what the others will bring (Empire, Vampires, Chaos, O&G and High Elves)

  • Although I'm not going to make it to paint 50+ gnoblars (have 10 painted by now).
  • I really do like the idea of the Stonehorn with hunter and a few sabretusks. Especially fluffwise.
    • And for the slaughtermaster, what would you give him? Armour of Destiny, Ironcurse Icon? It will be a small deathstar btw if I take a lvl4 fully equipped
I myself was thinking of a big scouting poison unit of maneaters with braces of pistols. With a few sabretusks as decoy and/or a firebelly. It's difficult whether that would be cheesy fondue or fun.

We did a builders league, that what I ran kicked some butt. Gnoblars are the meat shields + there ranged attack then moved them out of the way for the big guns to shoot.
